i hate people who say you can't judge off videos. you can if you know what you're watching.

the only thing you can't account for is yes, playing someone good when you're not quite as good can make you look a lot worse than you really are, especially if you're playing anything less than your best. but for the most part, you can tell a lot -- definite habits and move choice things that aren't going to magically change when i play you IRL

yeah but you get a pretty rough outline on what's what. most players, regardless of skill, fit into a sort of tier where x type of players in that tier don't do y things. well atl east that's what i gather from watching almost all the good melee vids on youtube the past couple of years
