****. That's the day before my classes resume, maybe I can make it but just leave early, if I can I will notify you. As many have said, the last meet was an incredible smashfest, I encourage anyone who can make it to go.

I think I will be coming to this next one. My birthday is on Saturday and will be doing stuff with my friends in Novato, and then I'll come to this the next day. I will bring some stuff I got from Poland.

There won't be anything on Saturday, at least as far as I'm concerned lol.

The schedule will probably be something like this:
-You can arrive as early as noon, some smash setups and snacks/appetizers will be available
-The "entry fee" for this fundraiser BBQ, which will include all the food you want and all the smash you can handle until closing time, will be just $15. As will be the case with all these genesis fundraisers, all proceeds (minus cost of food for the BBQ) will go directly towards funding Genesis next summer
-The BBQ will be fired up around 3pm, at which time burgers & hotdogs will be served (along with the snacks & sides like potato salad, chips & dip, prolly bread rolls, not sure what else might compliment a BBQ lol)
-I'm not sure how many <21yearolds out of the mix there'll be, but i'll have a bunch of sodas/water available... and probably some beers i.f.f. you're old enough lol
-If at least 10 paying attendants of the fundraiser show up, a raffle will be held among them, with the winner receiving free entry for themselves to either the Brawl or Melee side of Genesis next summer! If less then 10 show up, we'll combine the drawing with the entrants from the next BBQ to determine a winner.

I'll probably start closing up shop around midnight, only b/c monday follows.


***We still need more interest to this! You could pay $10 for a rotten Jack in the Crack meal, or snag a ton of BBQ + Smash + help fund this amazing upcoming tourney for only a bit of pocket change more! Tell your friends & come join the fun!***

Honestly lol, if there isn't more *confirmed* support for this by tomorrow evening I'm just gonna cancel this weekend's event. From the comments above I had only received 2 that actually express that they're coming, and one of them (bob$) it seems even edited out his hype so he's probably not going either =/. I don't exactly have 40 pounds of beef sitting in my freezer, so if attendants actually want to eat I would need to know that they're coming a day in advance.

And since I don't plan on hosting an all-day BBQ for one or two people, this event would need some more confirmed support fast or I'll just be cancelling it for another weekend.

edit: i guess this is also assuming it's at the park and not in your backyard!

If nobody gathered as much, tomorrow's event won't be happening anymore. Just not enough interest, and I won't be holding a BBQ smashfest for just like 2 attendants lol.

I'll probably just aim to have the next one on a saturday; the first available non-tournament saturday is I believe October 2nd, so if you're down for that day let me know here. Most likely it'll be an afternoon/early evening BBQ with an all-nighter smashfest attached to it, something starting around 4-5pm and lasting til bart opens back up in the morning.

But honestly, if you smashers just dislike the idea of having BBQ attached to your smash, just let me know lol. I don't know whether or not the poor signups for this one were due to people not liking BBQ, or just the inconvenience of it being on a sunday. I thought it would be a cool idea (having a BBQ with a bunch of norcal) and haven't given up hope in providing them once in a blue moon, but just be frank if the idea sounds bad to you guys in general lol.

out of town so i couldn't have gone to this one regardless, but sunday would have been difficult. i could get up there w/no worries for the initital smashfest b/c it was saturday night, but on sunday i have to worry about leaving to make sure i get home to get to work on monday. basically, on a saturday i'm essentially a lock to attend but sundays are dicey

I think it was primarily that it was on a Sunday, like others have mentioned.

I don't mean to sound like a cheap *******, but 15$ I think might be putting people off, especially for people who live kinda far and have the added expense of traveling. I know there are expenses in buying the stuff for the bbq, and I actually do like the bbq idea. Just my opinion on the issue.

October 2 sounds good for me. However I will have to see how my workload is going, but I will probably be able to make it.

Remember this thread guys? Lol well, I'm going to be hosting another all-nighter fundraiser smashfest this Saturday, 10/2. Due to unpopular demand there won't be a BBQ attached to it lol, so like the first smashfest a few weeks back, it'll just be $5 at the door for the entirety of the night.

It's going to start around 4pm, and last throughout the night until whenever bart would open back up in the morning. Same deal as last time; if you think you'll need a ride to bart, say so early! I can pick people up from the Concord station, just feel free to toss in a buck a person or so for the gas as it's about 15 minutes away from my place lol. I'll also be doing pizza signups in the evening and make a stop at Little Caesars again. And don't forget pre-dawn Denny's!

Signups for this one are startinggggg..... now! Tell your friends lol, and let's have another fun smashfest & help support Genesis 2!

Bump! The smashfest starts as early as 4pm for anyone that wants to show up at that time, and will last throughout the night. Don't forget that it is also a Fundraiser Event, so it'll just be $5 at the door, with all proceeds going straight to helping to fund Genesis 2.

Bart pickups will be at 5pm, plus-or-minus 15 minutes, so if you need a ride to the smashfest from bart please ***POST HERE* that you need one, & try to show up as close as you can to that time lol.

If you're driving here, don't forget to bring a setup if you can. =) The more setups, the merrier!
