There will be 6 team captains in total. One for each region.

West Coast
East Coast
Midwest
South
Canada
International

For now we can consider "West Coast" to be Norcal, Socal, Washington and Arizona.

10 people will be picked for each team. Due to time constraints we might do 8 main, and 2 alts for everything but the grand finals, and 10 main with 2 alts for finals only.

For the purpose of discussion, lets assume this means a total of 12 people. Genesis is just over 5 months away and this gives us the opportunity to create a list of specific players we want to represent us nationally. This timeframe also gives less-known players time to prove themselves locally and regionally that they have what it takes. So even though Genesis is so far away, now is just as good a time as any to start thinking about who we will be sending to fight against East Coast, Midwest and the South (HUNGRYBOX LOL)

Strategy and Captain discussion aside, let's start with what players we want for our twelve man crew. Mad people aren't talking about you as if you should be on crews? Only you have the power to stop forest fires get recognized. Start winning local tournies and beating the people who we consider top 12 in your region. If you aren't being considered for a top spot on the crew, you have 5 months to prove yourself The following is my list of who we can consider locked in as our prime representatives

It's a too early to be talking about Crews. 5 months is a long time. And I think crews should be bigger.. at least 15 smashers per crew IMO.

I wonder if Texas is going to join WC like they did at Pound 3. Hmm....

Wobbles deserves a spot if for nothing more than it ***** to have an IC on the team. They throw in a peach to counter him, like Cort, and we put in a Peach slayer (darkrain?..... oh dang..... well Taj ***** Peach pretty bad as well.)

As far as Captains go, I think "Captains" is a bad way to go about playing this thing. It should be a group effort. Everyone, at one point in the crew battle, should be willing to stand up and say "I will fight this match." If we are going to win we need confidence in ourselves, and not just in our captains. Mango is good, but he can't carry an entire region, nor can another other person qualified for captain. We are the WEST COAST, not "Sean Joseph Forward and Down B AND FRIENDS."

Oh I also think Axe is qualified for an Alternate, at least. I would have to see him match up against some of the other players on the list, the kid is good.

But seriously, Mango's right. The EC crew is going to have TEN people that are like, amazing. Like, just straight up awesome. Even if Mango is better than them all, he can't take them all alone. Like, Lovage was listing some of his alternates, and some other people too. Shroomed, Silent Wolf, and others? I know they're VERY VERY good at this game.. but seriously... are you kidding me? East Coast is going to have ten very high calibur players that are all near each other in skill. We need to get our **** together.. really. Even IF our top 3 or 4 or whatever is better than theirs... they fill their bottom slots a lot better than we do.

Oh I also think Axe is qualified for an Alternate, at least. I would have to see him match up against some of the other players on the list, the kid is good.

I think something that would help.. would be to find out or determine the representatives for all the other crews. I'll do this when I get back

Also, instead of putting out someone who destroys Peach... we can put out Taj.... and then the Peach player will get scared and go Sheik... and then Taj will win.

I'm not sure... if Lunin and SS deserve the spot on the WC crew.

SS needs to step it up. He's been doing very poorly lately compared to how he was in like, pre-December 08. It seems like he's been playing worse by the month.

I also think it's likely... that Axe is better than Lunin. We'd have to determine this somehow, but I think we should definitely consider putting Axe on the crew... that is, if he's going. He has this summer college program thing, but he might be able to make it.

ALSO..

I heard... KING is going to be making a return for Genesis. He'd DEFINITELY be a player for the crew. Even if he had to boot off one of our original ten... and I already suggested one or two.

Also, to reiterate my previous point, I think Wobbles definitely deserves a place. Apparently, Mango also thinks that the three AZ guys deserve the place.

people like Zhu are only on say... Eggm's level, and they definitely have more than 10 players better than eggm over there.
I don't know how pinkshinobi would do against EC. We know he can deal with pressure pretty well because he was ****** it up on corneria against mango for the longest time that 4th match of WCSL.
But experience wise..
we do need a good peach though


also from what I see over here
darkrain is certainly beatable. A good sheik player might do the job fairly easily
dope is still rusty, he also lost to the same sheik player yesterday (not drephen)

but yeah hopefully west coast doesn't have problems vs the midwest

Arizona can take out Cactuar easily.

We have experience with cacti.

Also, who I THINK would be in the other crews (with zero research, just off the top of my head)

South:
Shiz, Chops, Colbol, and HBox, others...? In other words, we need spacie slayers. TO TAKE OUT CHOPS, WE NEED TO SEND IN SOMEONE UNORTHODOX. Wobbles has 3-stocked Chops twice, and Chops didn't make it out of his TBMTSBCO pool because it had a bunch of Samuses and Marths in it. I think HugS can wipe Chops out completely.

East Coast:
M2k, PC, Jman, Scar, Cort, KDJ (I heard he's returning), Chu, Eggm, Cactuar, and someone else. My god, this crew looks ****ing scary. It might not even be right, which is the worst part. Holy ****, we need to step it up.

Midwest:
Darkrain, Drephen, Jiano (got 4 stocked by Taj's Marth), Vidjo (?), Sliq (?)

I really need to do more research, but I think WC can take 2nd easy. We need to set our sights on EC though. We can't let them dominate us.

We should look at our matchups so we know who to send in against whom.

Mango, Forward, Taj, Wobbles, King, Ka-master, HugS (if he decides to get his **** together). This is a very strong top 7 we have.. ESPECIALLY if they allow wobbling. We need to fill our top 5 as well as we can. You have five months to prove yourselves. I personally think this top 7 should not be changed at all. It has diversity, and the players are all amazing.

Candidates for 8-10:
Lucky, Zhu, SS (if he steps it up), PinkShinobi, Eggz, SW, Axe, Lunin

It doesn't necessarily follow that if baysians took m2k out, it took all 5 to do it. We did the best against the EC crew.
