@Skyler: IMO, I would say 2 player, much funner.

I suppose if you want to win and your friend/family member is bad, they could press A and go in a bubble to get out of danger...or you could carry them, though that is a bit risky.

For NSMBW, I'm angered that you can no longer play as Luigi in 1 player mode, curses!

I don't know if this works or not, but if you get two controllers out, one is Mario, the second picks Luigi and Mario quits, does the second player stay as Luigi?

Can the first player even quit? xD

Just pick two players. Put Mario in the bubble every time. Plus, now you got to watch out for his bubble, so its increased difficulty.

jolly old england. hohoho.
Stayed up till 6am yesterday and finished the game with 2 friends. Fun for all :)

Two of us did well and used no continues up to this one ******* level in world 7 - one person gets to be in charge of all the platforms' movement for a very long time. Lovely idea for teamwork, but that's not how we play. Too many grudges. We each lost 50+ lives on that level . Two of us wanted to finish the game with no continues, but I ended up using 2 on that level and my friend got 4. And, uh, the other guy used 28 continues (overall).

Probably our favourite leve of the game. Constant laughing and we must have played it for over an hour. By the end, I was just cowering in the corners of the levels while the other two fought each other. So many innocent-bystander deaths for me.

I wish there were a few more levels like this one. Having your teammates lives in your hands for 50% of the level, then requiring those same people to not screw you over on the tiny platforms for the remaining 50% of the level is genius.

We still have to 100% worlds 7 and 8 and work through world 9, but I thoroughly enjoyed the game so far. Now I need to finish it in single player mode - world 7 and 8 seem very very tough for one person to get through (and also for four people).

My older brother and I just played the original Super Mario Bros. 3 on our NES last night. I forgot how fun this game is.

Except he decided to get the warp whistles after we BOTH agreed to do it without them!

I wonder which Mario game I should play next. I own most of them but I just can't pick.

You're definitely not alone, I honestly thought it was made to try to attract more girl gamers, and there are plenty of people that say such.

It could have been unintentional, as it was simply a role reversal, but not likely.

Samus is boring.

Isn't Syrup in Wario games? I guess it counts.

Maybe it's just me, but I always liked those girly girls.
Well, not really, I just like the video game characters who are really, really, nice, I don't mind if they cross the path of beliveable, that's why I like the Wii fit trainers so much <3 and that's why I don't like Peach in Super Paper Mario or the anime movie =/

Seriously, she was such a ***** =/

Sadly we have to wait for another Mario game next year. I'm suprised that there's not another Mario Party, lol.

They turned bad once they left the cube. There was nothing really new they could introduce except a microphone and other gimmicky stuff.

2 and 4 were the best IMO. They had some extremely fun mini games. It just seems hard to be original when your on the 8th game. Look at the Mega Man X series. 123 were awesome, the rest are.....not so.

Wait...how are you surprised? O_O The 8th one didn't do so hot I thought.

1,2 and 4 were great games. I think the best part about 1 was it was harder to get stars because usually (if I remember right) in 1 vs 3 or something, if you lost you lost coins. That made it fun and annoying at the same time.

2 was just plain fun. There was a lot to do in it, plus it had Horror Land.

4 was nice and fresh for the GCN. Improved graphics and some really fun new items. Though I swear, my CPU Daisy was REALLY good.

Mario Party 1 was my favorite because of the stage with Princess's Peach's Cake. The star stayed in 1 spot the whole time and each player ran laps around the cake. The purchasing of pirahana plants to yoink stars was cool. Not only did these plants yoink stars away but they cost quite a bit (30 coins?); therefore you had to win the mini-games in order to get them. Basically whoever won the most mini games would get the most coins and as a reward could buy the most pirahana plants and in return get the most stars and win.

The Bowser Cake was epic too.

My three favorite Mario Parties are 3, 1, and 2 in that order, but they're all addictive (especially if you have friends).

In the past, every Mario Party was made every year, but now after Mario Party 8 has came, Mario Party titles has stopped. Sure Mario Party 8 wasn't good, but it sure wasn't the worst one. I blame 8 being made too fast because it was suppose to be for the GC but got made for the Wii, same with Super Paper Mario, but that title was made better for the Wii than most would had thought.

My favorite Mario Party titles is Mario Party 2, 6, and 7 currently. I like 6 the most because the boards and mini games change from day and night, an idea that hasn't been used. And of course, the first Mario Party with Toadette. <3

This reminds me of the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princes........ /doesn't go there

@Koopa: I think it sold more because it was the first MP on the Wii and people were buying Wiis like crazy. It was a multiplayer so everyone was probably excited that they could all play together (yes I know a lot of games are multiplayer).
