i personally, DIDnt enjoy it and is the only mario spinoff game i didnt enjoy. maybe im being picky and totally unfair about the game, but i found it a little boring. but i probably would have enjoyed it MUCH more it they could have made a wii version
You could play by the regular rules if you find the rules unfair when playing mutiplayer. I'll agree that it did get boring, my reason is that it's not wifi. The controls you have to memorize them all and they were mostly touch screen controls which made them harder to understand. But yea, the Wii version would be much better if made.

I think they mix Mario and Dragon quest (or something like that) in some mini-games or something.

I think the last game was Dragon Quest + Final Fantasy.
Not that I can get it since it's a Japanese exclusive and I don't know Japanese.

I just bought SMW on WiiWare.
I'm not sure what to think of it =/
It's very fun, but the controls are...akward

Thoughts on super mario galaxy 2 so far? Looks like the same game with Yoshi. :p Whether that's true or not, it looks like it's going to be fun. I loved playing through the first galaxy game despite how easy it was.

EASY? Did you get all the power stars? My god, Luigi's Purple Coins had me smashing my head against the floor in frustration...

But as for SMG2 itself, I'm excited. I'm actually more interested in what the plot is this time that has Mario scurrying all over the universe to clobbah dat dere Kirbehgrabbah dem powuh stars than the new galaxies and gameplay. If Bowser's stolen them again you'd have to question Rosalina's security measures...

From what he has said in interview, this is basically a more challenging version of Mario Galaxy. Technically he said for the more hardcore gamer, but I'm guessing that means more difficulty and length.

I got all the 121 stars with mario/luigi with relative ease, with the exception of a few purple coin missions (or one of the hellish rabbit catching levels). It was a really fun game but I was disappointed at how easy it was. We either complain about how hard it is or how easy it is. :p

Mario Galaxy wasn't all that hard. Some stages where little bit hard where you had to re-try them once or twice and others just took ages like when you missed a purple coin and had to search for it lol.

I completed it with mario and luigi getting both 121 stars. I just wanted those two pictures at the end so i could put them as a picture for the photo channel so it appears on the front.

Mario Galaxy 2 will be good. Mario Galaxy was just basic really with a few good ideas but I'm betting since then they had more on there mind with the whole gravity thing and can produce more ideas in Galaxy 2.

Also new super mario bros wii is going to be epic. IGN have a video preview of it that just wants me have the game right now.

Yeah, Galaxy wasn't the hardest of games in the world...
I found somethings annoying (certian purple coins) but the game was not that hard, I'm trying to not get that hyped for Super Mario Galaxy since it's long release date, luckily NSMBW is doing a great job with that.

I agree with Alzi, I need NSMBW T_T

BTW, Alzi, I LOVE your avatar! It's one of the best I've ever seen, seriously :)
Your sig is fun too...

Excuse me. But I think kirby would beat mario in a fight. You, sir, insulted me there with that one sentence
And he made an amazing reference to Kirby: Right Back At Ya'!

Mario Galaxy wasn't really all that difficult; I hope that Galaxy 2 will be a little more challenging!
The only problem I had in Galaxy was how Luigi slid, and even that was minor.

Why thank you my friend. Rainbow mario is from the official artwork of nsmbwii.

But yeah, i really cannot wait for it. November 12th here for us so i am going to pre-order it this week so i get my mario cap.

IGN has a video preview of nsmbwii aswell if i haven't said it already.

Oh and i found luigi easier then mario on Super mario Galaxy. Mainly because his huge jump helped alot and was easier just at times collecting purple coins on a moving platform was hard with luigi.

i thought the purple coins were amazingly easy compared to the couple of levels where you had to cean up all the trash with the bom-ombs.
ive never been sooo frusterated in my life and i was going to throw my wii mote and nunchuck at a wall!

EDIT: yea but luigi slides a little too much, which lead to my deaths a few times... i think mario was easier.
and yes alzi i agree! your avatar and sig are really nice! :)

Is the new super mario bros wii going to have 4 player multiplayer local and wifi or something? That's what it looks like from the videos, which look awesome. The DS game was one of my favorite games. It looks like it's going to be a lot of fun regardless.

There was a Youtube Poop somewhere that spoofed that opening... I can't find it.

Customer Servce: How can I help, you, King Dedede?
D3: I need a monster to clobbah dat dere Kirbeh!
Customer Service: That's what we do best at N-M-E!"
Escargoon: Ya better get it with a money-back guarantee!

Those were the exact lyrics. :)

Something like that. There's also going to be a new 'demo mode' that plays when you pause the game. Basically the CPUs take over and do the level for you. Some people were quite annoyed to learn that you didn't even have to try and figure out some of the puzzles to the game, since they were given to you by the demo.

The opening starts at about 0:45. Sorry for the quality, it's the best I could find in English.

That's why I mostly watch Kirby of the Stars, but finding every episode sub may be a problem.

This has probably been discussed already but I feel like I shouldn't really make a new topic for it seeing as this thread is so awesome <3

What Mario Party did you guys love (if you did)?

I loved Mario Party 2 because the minigames were fun, the outfits were interesting and I felt like the boards were fun to play on.

Just recently we had this conviction. XD

Mario Party 6 is my most favroite one, Mario Party 2 come's next. Mario Party 7 would be my favroite because I enjoy the mini games, but not the board so much. Grrr, Bowser Time ruins the game. )=<

I'm playing the new super mario bros on my DS in anticipation of the new game for the wii (and pokemon platinum XP).

http://wii.ign.com/dor/objects/14354229/super-mario-wii-2/videos/nsmb_vdp_102909.html

That's just a gameplay video with commentary, but it really explains how multiplayer works and it looks cool. The only thing I don't like so far is the super guide thing? If you die like 8 times it'll play the level for you. >_> Not only is it somewhat hard to die 8 times in a row in a mario game but.....I thought getting angry was just a sign that it was a challenging game, which is good.

Well, the super guide is not nessesary, so you could just keep playing it by yourself, if you want, the video even said, you can take control of it anytime, so I don't think it's a problem :p

I agree with it looking hard to die 8 times, everytime I see someone play it, I see them with like 8 lives... but I doubt it's hard to SD :p

EDIT: Oh yeah! I forgot, someone gave a link, (I think it was Viper or Scooby Cafe, I'm not sure really) saying that this was going to be a very hard game, so you never know.

KribyWorshipper posted:

A few tasty tidbits from the latest NP issue's preview of NSMBW:

-Each Koopaling is the world's boss, having to be fought twice: once in a midworld fortress and once at the end castle.
-For the Koopaling rematches, Kamek returns to assist them with magic (ala Yoshi's Island).
-Bonus card games make their return from SMB3.
-The full item list is revealed. Sadly, Mega Mushrooms and Blue Shells have been removed.
-For those who are worried about Bowser Jr. replacing Bowser, don't worry; the Big B will make his appearance at the game's climax (as per usual).
-The game can be played in wide-screen, which automatically zooms in and out depending on the number of players.
-NSMBW will apparently be one of the hardest games in the entire Mario series.
I didn't really check and see if this is what is said but I can believe this post.

I disagree, I suck at Mario games and will likely die 8 times at least each level :(
That would depend, the platformers or the RPG's? =P

When the green box appears at the start of the level just simply do not hit it. Just continue on what you are doing.

Some people are complaining about the super guide when really you can just run past it at the start of the level and continue how you would normally play.

Personally I thought unlocking Luigi, while appropriate, was an iffy reward (but they had to do it after all of that Luigi in Mario 64 nonsense). Although I guess Mario 'unlockables' have and always will rely on the fact that nearly all Mario games warrant a second playthrough.

I guess the super guide is helpful for people new to the game and such, but it seems like a kinda dumb idea in the first place. Regardless, I'm curious about the control scheme. In a video I saw you just tilt the wii mote on its side and tilt it to move left and right. I thought you'd use the D pad or something, or at least it seems more convenient. I love the look to the game, though. The graphics in the DS game were my favorite part, so I'm excited to see this one. I also noticed they gave a new look to the world map, fun stuff.

Ehhh, maybe it's just me, but I hoped it would have been like a control stick kind of scheme, I guess this is ok too, though it might take some time to adjust.

I don't really understand it since you also shake it to fly, but, whatever.

I would think the controls are for the powers or jumping, if it isn't for moving.

yea the D-pad or a control stick would seem to be easier. if its true, i wonder what made nintendo go with a control scheme such as that?
it would seem kinda awkward if ya ask me!
