Banjo and Kazooie aren't on the same level as the other third parties in terms of icon power.
They are a "special case" for a different reason.

For me personally it generally goes like this on this whole icon power levels/tiers thing:

No because a Kimono would get in the way of how his arms move to grip the buster blade for balance for his double jump.
Also the fact that him getting the Advent Children alt is amazing by itself when you consider...

I mostly agree, except Castlevania and Bomberman are way bigger and more important than Metal Gear.
I'd swap the entire third tier with Snake and Rayman.

We've already seen an alt. The chance of us getting 2 alts (especially one so silly) for a 3rd party characters is unlikely as best.

They should be in smash, but aren't because of the buyout, and everyone knows it.

I've got to say though, Proto-Man would make Mega Man's Final Smash pretty confusing, and I think it'd be hard to swap out X with Zero, and Mega Man.exe with Proto-Man.exe for just one costume.

Replace Marth with Lucas for Japan only. Shulk and Olimar and Robin were highly requested! Especially Shulk and Olimar in Japan.

Jigglypuff was debatably iconic back when she was added.

However, one thing that seemingly hurts lip as opposed to the other characters is we have no Japan-only *Series* in Smash.

Unless Lip gets in as an assist trophy (which can't happen anymore) or there's a Lip Mii costume, she's going to have a really hard time getting more people to know her... shame since I'd like her inclusion. Team Little Mac, Takamaru and Lip

I don't get the hype. If anything, their supposed high popularity would mean a Banjo HD would be great for Xbox One's sales. I could argue 'Goku should be in smash, but isn't because of animoo' about you're first sentence btw

I love everyone always seems to forget about Mortal Kombat and Killer Instinct. Two game series that were extremely popular on Nintendo consoles. Not going to lie though, Killer Instinct has kind of been irrelevant up until the game was released. Anyway, I love how people constantly gloss over the likes of Scorpion, or Sub-Zero. I'd argue that more people know who they're more than Snake, Cloud, Simon Belmont, and quite a few others. At least in the West.

I find it pretty awesome/strange/funny that Cloud's alt originated from a movie of all things. Sure, it's a sequel to FFVII, but it's defiantly a first... Much like Cloud himself.

Of course. And I do think more 1-offs, but only the important/popular one off characters such as Midna should get in as well a certain recurring character ...Impa.

But I doubt it will happen this game. A shame really, since I believe Zelda & Kid Icarus have some of the most interesting and unique characters any series already represented can offer.

Well, yeah, you're right. with Zelda, there really aren't that many options, given that most of the characters change with each game. So the character would have to be someone who's appeared in multiple games, like Impa, or had a big role in their main game, like Midna. Other than those two, I'd say Tetra, Fierce Deity Link, Vaati, Fi, Ghirahim, Ganon, Wolf Link and Tingle all would be good options.

Also, I'd love to see a triforce heroes link, where you can control three links at a time.

At this point, I'm hoping we get 4 new characters + Cloud, but not prepared to assume. As a Smash fan I've learned never to assume for Smash 4. It worked well enough in Brawl, but this time has been some crazy ride.

If we can get two vets and two ballot newcomers (Snake+Wolf and Dixie/K. Rool+Isaac) that would be dope. Who knows what's going to happen though.

Worth noting, 5 characters including Cloud would bring us up to 60. I'd love the **** out of that.
