When I was learning how to do it, I felt like I needed to slow down my timing. But really I was just learning to hit A the moment I got out of hitstun (instead of mashing A and missing the grab).

If you do it too fast, you'll hit A when you're still in hitstun and it won't work; if you wait too long, the end of Falcon's raptor boost animation kind of pulls him away (or you slide back--I'm not sure which). So if you're missing the grab, you have to do it faster.

Random thing when practicing today that is rarely used but puts falco in a very predictable position:
Fthrow at the ledge, imideatly follow upwith a nair (read jump,or hit before hes up-bs hurtbox is out), if he DIs away, just edgehog and maybe bair if theres time for it, should work for decently low% kills =)

Fly, do you ever use SH fair when Falcon hits your shield with an aerial/raptorboost? I like it sometimes because it tends to beat (another) raptorboost and some other options that don't involve him just shielding.

I almost never do that since it loses badly to jabs. If I can't get the SDI -> grab, I often do a medium-length wavedash OoS towards Falcon, crouch, and react to what he does accordingly. If I don't think that will work for whatever reason, I just keep shielding and wait for an opportunity to roll or wavedash away. Sometimes I'll do nair OoS if Falcon keeps knee'ing my shield, but that's usually not worth it.

Fair out of shield is definitely a gambit. It can pay off occasionally but I guess if you're thinking longterm, then staying in shield works pretty well against Falcon. It's just important to angle shields upward in order to avoid getting stabbed by knees.

We gotta rep? How are we going to rep when we are in a private group.
secret straits that we can use on people and they don't know wtf is going on lol

kind of like u can send people other way with d-smash also instead of fsmash.

just little stuff people don't know yet

the videos are up from ark 3

http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=301030

i got every one of my tournament matches recorded.

i really need to work on not d-smashing so much and get my movement and desyncs better

irish_dude i think arkansas is coming to an OK tournament soon but idk the date just keep me posted cus i'll bring 3-4 ppl

the group is public... and we rep by being part of the mafia and taking people outa tournaments and such. or however u see fit to represent the IC's..
Vts gots the right idea! and yea i know we got sumthin in the works. cant wait for that. i hate how there can be a fine line for d-smashing against certain characters. my two main bad matches right now are samus and peach. Gravity (the samus who placed 9th i think? from OK) i dont play him alot and i played him yesterday and i i never got him past 2 stocks. he's one of the better samus' in the country but still. i know i need to get inside her (pun intended) WD into Shield? he knows the matchup and spacing really well so other than that and busting rockets with ice i dnt understand as well as i should. when i get my grabs off im successful, its just my aproach

For all those interested...

I spent some time testing the guaranteed shieldgrab on Raptor boost with Kyu Puff on my livestream and apparently he was right. You can always shieldgrab falcon when he hits the front of your shield, even without shield DI. The timing is this, "He hits you, wait a tick, then you just grab. Boom--Boom." Sorry for no details, try and youll get it.

Anyone else have problems bairing his sideB when he hits the back of your shield? I've been missing that timing alot recently.

Yea, generally my OOS game is worse then it has been, not remembering the "best" timing to get out of shield is probably why though.

Anyone have suggestions for dealing with Falcon spacing knees on my shield? Just don't let him hit my shield? WD back out of shield after the jab/in reaction to the next knee? Roll?

Atleast its useful in taking control of platforms, since it desynchs and gets Nana in a perfect height for blizzard on plattforms. Probably not a good anti close pressure thing.

Not played a doc really, but I imagine he is using retreating pills and fsash/dsmash alot?

Fsmash through the pills hitting doc might work alot?
