Yea and if mango comes I imagine that would be really hype for you guys, so you could get relatively high attendance... But 100 person cap is silly.

Hope you guys don't choose the same weekends as Melee Royale!
Also if those tournaments are like 3 weekends in a row mango could attend all of them :S
Of course we won't !
Close tournament dates aren't good when both are major events, as Smash Attack and ESA3 have shown in the past.

Not this fail again. 3 times more than the US. If you want to counter-troll by bragging, at least know what there is to brag about.
Well... The US had a total medal count of 104 this year.
The second closest to the US was china, with 88
Sweden wasn't even on the top 10.
The hell are you talking about with that "3 times more than the US"
You silly.

On-topic: would mango even want to go to france?
They got weak beer.
And ****'s super expensive in paris.

Also, Europe in general is more expensive for non-locals than America. We have more money, but we have to spend more of it. Kind of the opposite of China etc where people earn nothing, but living is also cheap.
That's why it's easier for us to travel. Flights are *relatively* cheaper for us, plus the places we can travel to are often cheaper to be in than at home.

Also--doesn't Europe have any other major tournaments? I feel like somebody somewhere on the continent should be capable of obtaining a venue that could fit more than a hundred people. Not sure if we should pay to send him to a second-rate tourney in terms of size; this is likely a one-time thing.
BEAST 3 is coming up.
Also you still owe me 500 dollars you slimy ****.

You do realize, good sir, that you get german beer living in america, so picture what we, frenchies, get living in the middle of germany, belgium, and the likes. That and eastern europe for Vodka and so on, Great britain for whiskey, etc.

You guys like to talk about Europe as a whole when it comes to Smash, but not when it comes to the rest.

Drop the topic of alcohol, it's considered inappropriate by the global rules.

With garlic butter, it's actually really good. As I told you, ask Oro, Wife or Husband, they told me they really liked that.

I wish I could answer your other question, but well, Smashboards doesn't like it so you can ask Google instead.

This is crazy lol. He has been winning 95% of everything he enters and yet people are still rushing to give him more of their money. More power to Mango he has such avid fans tho.

Dude you and the rest of the "IT'S NEGATIVE SO IT MUST BE TRUE LOOK AT ME I HATE MY COUNTRY JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER DUMB LIBERAL 20SOMETHING" crowd make me sick. Every conceivable category? Really? You're confident that this country is inferior to those glorious European paradises in every way? You can't think of a single way, cultural, economic, hell, meteorological, in which we're equal to them?

You're one ignorant mother****er, dude. You think you're better than the average american, but you're so, so much worse.
I was exaggerating. Obviously there are some categories the US is #1 in.

I got a good giggle when I looked down to the Facebook comments and immediately see some American blaming the country's downfall on the lack of spanking of one's children.

"According to a survey conducted by the National Geographic Society, only 37 percent of Americans between the ages of 18 and 24 can find Iraq on a map of the world."

"According to that same survey, 50 percent of Americans between the ages of 18 and 24 can't even find the state of New York on a map."

Whos mad at #15? :troll:
Oh damn, I guess we do have something we're good at. ****ing each other.

let's see what we can do about switching this to a BEAST 4 fund or delaying BEAST 3 or something. No use sending mango to a second-rate tourney.

Also Grenada for most athletic country. AJP you're soooooooooooooooo smart.

The olympics are about a country's elite athletes' prowess, not the athletic prowess of the average individual in that country. America is the greatest country in the world in part because of our population--if we were some little nothing of a country like sweden, of course we wouldn't be able to win wars or medals or determine world policies. But we're big, because we've always been great and 800,000 of your more with-it countrymen (my ancestors) migrated here en masse in the late 1800s.

Our ancestors never would have guessed that a few centuries later, a ridiculously large portion of Americans wouldn't even know what year they began migrating in. :troll:

One single medal is statistically meaningless.

The olympics are about single athletes' prowess, not about country pride. But they are part of the population, so naturally a larger population can have a larger number of any category.
I'm sure America has more homeless people than Sweden. That alone doesn't say you're bad, because it's meaningless information.
I could say "America is worse than the whole world" and ignore the 1 country vs 200 just as you ignore 300M people vs 9M.

Back on topic

Would be really cool if more people could donate for Mango. Smash tournaments don't pay all that well, as many of you know, so he really could use the money. And he said he'd pay people back AND that he'd try hard. Personally, I'm okay with either one happening, so the fact that he's promising both should be a good enough argument to win you lot over. :p

Doesn't sweden have programs to like... House everybody?

Obv. Not everybody, but iirc, you have a lot more housing programs than the US.

Have a little respect, please. I totally understand that a 100-player limit is pretty bad, especially if Mango (or another great player) is to attend it. But it definitely doesn't make it a "second-rate" tournament. As far as I know, Tero is a great host, and even with 100 people, I'm pretty sure that all 100 people would have a great tournament experience.

I assume (and hope) you didn't mean to say that, but please choose your words more carefully.

Seriously, Mango is overdue for a trip to Europe. It doesn't have to absolutely perfect for him. a 100 man tourney is pretty damn good for Europe anyway, and who knows, the number may climb with the right amount of mango vs armada hype. It'll be a good life experience for him too. He'll get there one way or another, he just needs to keep trying and ****** tournies so mahone doesn't have to fork over a million bucks lol

Yeah but it is not possible for the number to climb cause then veneue don't have enough with space for much more then 100. So even if Mango vs me would have more hype then Usain Bolt this tournament can't have more people (at least not in this veneue :p)

Beast 1 and 2 had around 100-120 entrants. Smashers' Reunion had a huge venue and PP attending and it got what, 130 entrants? The 100 man cap is unfortunate, but it's not a huge deal. That being said, it would obviously be preferable if it could be fixed somehow.

Thats a really valid point.
100 tourney entrants is basically as big as its going to get.
With alot of hype, and making sure that good players come, this tournament will be as stacked or even more stacked than any european tournament so far. If Mango does indeed come and ppl consider the payout too low, maybe it can be considered to pay a couple of euros tourney fee more per person, so money is also a factor that can be more than dealt with.

As shloka already mentioned, tero is a great and experienced tournament host, with a dedicated team of resident-helpers around him, so the tournament will definitely be a success and a great experience. Why should any of the things mentioned count against getting mango to this tournament, as it will as good as any Tournament with 120, or 150 ppl (150 being highly unlikely in Europe anyways.)

You all seem to get a panicky reaction to "OH NO, Its capped at xy people, it can't explode into unbelievable high numbers."
Well, let me tell you one thing. If mango is attending this, the hype will be there.
The people will be there, making it one of europes biggest events.
The money will be there, why shouldn't it be?

So if we have the opportunity, if we have the fund going on, why stop while its rolling? Why not see whats going to happen. If everyone gets their money back, mango wins enough money and everything works out, what stops us from getting mango to european tournaments regularly?

TL;DR:
This will be awesome. Embrace the opportunity.

Keep typos.

Is that some kind of fire code (maximum occupants)?

Can we convince the owner of the venue that sheik mains should only count as half a person?
