So it's nothing new for me to encounter somebody at a tournament who's hella good and doesn't even get to play that often. Sometimes it's because they don't even own a single Melee copy.
I, however, am the solution to the problem. Here's my story. I work at a small GameStop in Southern Illinois (So. ILL) and I have very easy access to as many copies of melee as we get in. Granted, we don't get new copies anymore, but the preowned copies we get are usually in reasonably good condition. I've been buying every copy as we get it for the past 2 or 3 weeks. I own roughly 7 or 8 copies now.
You might be asking if what I'm doing is illegal. As far as I know, it's not embezzling because I'm not asking for anything in return. It might have other legal issues but I'm hardly a lawyer. I don't see a problem with giving away things that I own.
This is what I want. PLEASE don't ask me for a copy if you already own one or have easy access to acquiring one. I'm doing this for those people who don't have such easy ways of getting it.
Further, if you don't have a gamecube, I may be able to give you one of those too. The worst you can do is ask. If you don't feel comfortable posting asking for something like this on this thread, feel free to message me and I'll get back to you asap. No one has to know.
Why am I doing this? The Melee community has a lot of potential that gets wasted because of lack of convenient practice. I hope that, with my copy of melee, I can usher in the next Michael Jordan of Melee, so to speak.
Here's how to apply: If you want a copy, post or send me a PM. I'll gather your shipping information and have it sent out as soon as I can. I'm fairly busy with day-to-day matters that don't always allow me to get things out in a timely fashion, but I'm always going to try to get it out ASAP. If you really NEED a gamecube, at least show me how much you need it with a personalized video or something. I'm not asking for much. But buying a cube and shipping it is a little more complicated than just a game.
Once again, PLEASE don't take this from those that really deserve it. I'm doing this for the community that I know and love.
Also, if it's okay, I'd like to keep this thread alive and kicking until I can no longer acquire copies from my district.
