My friend has to do a report on Fox new and its sponsors. He has to have some information about how they could influence Fox's reporting. (Liberal teacher much?).

For the life of me, I cannot get any more details out of him over the phone, and I cannot find a corrupt sponsor..

Thanks for the help.

Every news source is biased in some way. It's just a reality that you have to accept and be able to look past when you want TRUE news.

He needed to know about what sponsors could sway fox. Like, if they were sponsored by an oil company, or a cousin of McCain/Obama.

Hes done anyways.

This puzzles me as well, very much.

it could be that Fox doesn't do a good job of delivering accurate information
Does better than other news networks...

I think it was MSNBC that completely changes the news almost to reflect their overly bias reporters

Why does everyone wish to boycott Fox News?
Can't speak for other news stations but they claim to be 'unbiased'. The whole "We report, you decide" bull**** whilst showing a clear far right wing bias.

There's also the misinformation and fear-mongering they sow. E.g. The Mass Effect controversy and anonymous report (which is hilarious!).

And then there is Bill O'Reilly. Who is surely only there to piss people off.

It's a news station for idiots. And I don't mean conservatives by that.

Yeah, if you think about it, The only reason Liberalism sounds bad is because Conservatives kicked it in the Crotch, Hard. Conservativism is based on a heavy christian theology and the Idea that Power should be given to the states instead of the nation. Well, we have Science now to explain everything (Kinda shocking that less than half of all Americans believe in evolution, despite the fact that I can deliver approx 60 arguments supporting it). Twice in American history did we try to give almost total power to the states. Shay's Rebellion and the failure of the Confederate States of America showed that States>Federal government system Fails, Hard. Fox, not only tries to pass such **** as fact, they can only get the facts to the Idiots, and I mean Idiots. Their largest success, convincing around 1/4th of Texans that Obama is Islamic (The fact that this is absolutely false also shows how "smart" Fox is [that and like half of the people there are among the few people who I'm willing to call ****s {worse than F bomb} and not be a political leader of something {and cause mass genocide}])

Just to clear things up, the Confederate States of America never failed as a government. It just lost the war. I'm sure we'd be worse off now if they hadn't, but that's speculation.

Either way you look at it, I'm REALLY tired of all of the crap Fox News gets. Fox News is for idiots, Fox News is so biased, etc. etc. Meanwhile, the rest of the media has an extreme Liberal bias, and they're in the tank for Obama. As people said, Fox News is biased, but not as biased as they're made out to be -- it just seems so much more biased because the opposite bias is normal. So instead of *****ing and moaning, either watch a news source with a Liberal bias if that really pleases you, or go to multiple news sources to try to get as close to the facts as you can.

First of all, I do think the media overall leans left, I'm just annoyed at all the "LIBERAL MEDIA DON'T BELIEVE CURRENT EVENTS" that I hear.

Newsbusters is pretty rediculous, they attack msnbc for only showing the McCain clip from SNL but not the Keith Olberman one, when they'd have no reason to show the Olberman one. McCain was shown because he's the presidential canidate and it was news, Olberman was just a part of the show, they had no reason to show the other sketches at all. It also attacks Diane Sawyer for going weak on Obama, despite the fact that she's not a political journalist, she's a fluff artists. The weekly standard is a right leaning magazine that doesn't hide it.

For non-biased answers, there is http://www.sciam.com/article.cfm?id=media-bias-presidential-election, or http://newsroom.ucla.edu/portal/ucla/Media-Bias-Is-Real-Finds-UCLA-6664.aspx. Plenty of others i'm sure, but those two suffice.

I also liked http://rhetorica.net/bias.htm

There was also that stroy that Fox ran that Obama attended a Madrasah.

They "mistyped" his name as Osama at least twice.

Left wing News ignores facts that are bad for the left and good for the right. Fox makes up its own facts.

You really need to learn that television isn't the only form of media.

There's radio shows which has a conservative bias.

CNN is Liberal, Foxnews is Conservative, MSNBC has been known to be Liberal as well, not sure where they officially stand.

There are more outspoken Liberals then there are Conservatives, so all you'll ever hear is that Foxnews is incredibly bias...

I've watched both, and I watched both during the Bush election 4 years ago, and from viewing both, CNN stretched the truth FAR too much about the election, especially the crap happening with Florida. Foxnews didn't state anything until they knew the facts, and in the end, they were right on everything.

That is my PERSONAL OPINION on the matter, choose to watch and believe whatever you want. I watch BOTH and compare. I find its better that way, that way you get both sides of the issues.

It is probably more affected by the fact there is a market for conservatives to get the news on TV which they are basically the only ones who fill (their "niche" per se"). Yes, every media station is biased. GET OVER IT!!!

I think the hatred towards Fox News isn't just out of "conservatism". If there is a bias in the media, almost everyone (except maybe for most conservatives?) believe that it is not an intentional one, that the media isn't sitting down thinking "Ok how can we elect democrats", while Fox news is basically shown to be doing just that.

the media is so liberal they spearheaded the media attacks on obama during the primaries and didn't report on mccain's various random scandals even though they reported on insignificant stuff on obama like him possibly being a muslim

the media is so liberal they sucked up to palin like she was their boss or something

John McCain said we need to defend the Iraq Pakistan border. This is the first you're hearing about it. If Obama said that, we'd still be questioning his foreign policy credentials. Heck, I'm sure most of you remember the 57 states gaffe.

News from the media has turned into more of a business than sources of "accurate" news.

I can recall seing an interesting dvd entitled "Outfoxed" (http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=53E47D76E63954D2 proides the entire thing), which exposed the biased intejecture towards local news. If you don't watch the entire dvd, skip to part 7, I think it best reflects Fox's biased opinions.

Based on this year's election, more people voted than ever before, so the citizens are becoming more active (maybe active isn't the right word, I can't find a better one right now). I just hope their getting the right information to make the right choice...

You know most people can't find their butt with both hands, so I doubt they're voting based on anything but bull****.
