sorry ste, but TL:DR

also any one who hates others sandbagging is obviously not good enough to understand why it happens.

Charles has had a tourney piping up in Winter time for some time, and it'd just be silly for the dates to coincide.Cause Yeovil will lose:laugh::laugh:

And Allan is dead right. Also there is a difference between sandbagging and not trying your hardest.Sandbagging is intentionally playing bad, where as often you cannot try your hardest or you really dont have to.

What is this kirby ****?

All I'm saying is it's annoying when players deliberately play badly (sandbagging)cos they know they can win either way. It's like saying 'You're nowhere near good enough to beat me so I'm not even gonna bother'

I know what you mean monty friendlies are not serious (thats why they're called friendlies). But tbh, it's not that mentally or physically demanding to play your best in them. the reason I play players a lot better than me is to get some experience but if they just sandbag and not even bother to play well then theres no point. I'm not gonna blame anyone for not playing their best in friendlies but sandbagging is lame.
I understand where ur coming from dude but really and truely its no biggy! The reason a lot of better players sandbag, as Mr P said, is because they dont need to put their all into defeating a lesser player! Though that can be seen as cheeky, disrepspectful, cocky, whatever u wana call it, it is still a fact. If u had a 5 year old sister and she sed she wanted to play smash bros with u, could u HONESTLY say that u wouldnt sandbag her whilst playing her? Would u really fight her as if u were winning £200+ at the end of the match? HELL NO!
Rather than being annoyed at sandbagging (which was exactly how i use to react at first to it) see it as a way of measuring ur status as a player! By this i mean if they can sandbag against u and still beat u then there some serious training to be done! Force them to play better! No one is gonna take u seriously if they can beat u and they're only playing at 10% of their full power. So train up! Concentrate on severely taking them out when they sandbag and they will start to say "Wow, i really didnt expect that, maybe i cant sandbag him anymore so im gonna start playing a lil better!"
I am FAR from being one of the better players in the UK but do u really think ANYONE took me seriously when they saw a lil green dinosaur bein brought to the table? Nope! EVERYBODY sandbagged me, and im not just talking about better players, im talking about lesser players aswel! EVEN players WORSE than me had the AUDACITY to try and sandbag me thinking that i wasnt worth playing properly! But after a few tail wags to their left eye, a tongue lick to their FACE and a bottom bash to their cranium, they reassessed their way of thinking! In regards to the better players who sandbag me i said "Rags, who cares? I'll just play better until they play properly!" I cant expect people to play their best if i cant even beat them at their worst! Infact its D&MN satisfying forcing them to bring out ther best after an underestimation! So dont worry about it bro, P have given totally understandable reason as to why he does it and ALOT of people do do it. From what i gather u just have to play better if u want them to play properly!:)

It's like saying 'You're nowhere near good enough to beat me so I'm not even gonna bother'
But bro, doesnt that thought push u? Knowing that they think that way? It should make u want to train soooooooo much and put a dam boot in their face to shut them up! On a psychological level it is actually very effective because it makes u want to train up so u can beat them, it keeps u intrested in the game and it keeps the rivalry at a high!

This Kirby stuff is neither funny or informative...well informative in a place I want to be informed. Basically, golfball, stop it or get reported. Spam is one thing? Kirby nonsense is another.

gg owna =D

what are the thoughts on sandbagging tactically these days? I've seen much mention of it recently. In reading sirlin an stuff like that I'm thinking it's perfectly valid =o (not saying I do it, honestly mad don't) - also in dance I've been told never to take yourself 100% into pretty much any situation. I've had a mate put it to me the best dancers only ever throw out 10%.. if they need to they give you another 5% an it blows you away.. if you really lolling they'll throw you half a movement of 90% jus to **** you up for life..

I've got a friend who's one of the best dancers in the uk.. He's known as a solid dancer but in battles he's known as something else. Anyone try to step up to him he always ups it that 5% an if he's really feeling pimp he'll come down on them with the best 'cobra' in the world. total ko. Dunno if it's much relative to smash but thought some yall might find it interesting =]
Bro its totaly relevant! I hang with a whole loada of street dancers and i dance myself! Its the exact same in a battle! No one comes on the floor with their BEST moves, that would be ridiculous! U have to show a lil bit at 1st, get the crowd hype! If ur opponent equals that then u up it a lil more!

I still don't like sandbagging. It's like when me and MrP played a half friendly at AR. He played Fox and I was winning with Dr Mario so I think. 'Cool, I must be playing well', but if he's sandbagging how do I know he's not letting me win? If I manage to beat or even just do well against a player I like to know that it's deserved.

Personnally i dont think he would be sandbagging and letting u win. NOBODY likes to lose so he still wont allow u to win, he just doesnt feel he has to go all out jus yet! And like i sed, nobody likes to lose so if u play well enough and start defeating him while he is sandbagging then he will start to play ball harder! Trust me bro, i had the exact same argument that u had, and i really hate sandbagging too, but honestly, its not gonna change, so who cares. U just gotta get around it, and the only way to do that is, as i sed in my previous post, beat them until they are forced to play better! They have put in the hardwork to get where they are but anyone can be defeated. They arent Gods that can never be taken down, so just practice like they did and u'l get to that level where if they sandbag u, then they will lose! Simple!

I WASN'T sandbagging you in that match, i was geniunely trying but the reason i wasn't winning by a clear margin was because we'd only played like 2 stock, even though your game was quite basic where you would just wait for me to make a mistake, shield grab and back throw me off the edge it would have taken me 2 or 3 games to figure you out completely.:laugh::laugh:

I was trying but i wasn't playing really gay trying to get the win like i would do in tournament, i was being aggressive and trying to get some good combos and stuff, friendly games shouldnt be taken in the same manner as tournie matches where you are always playing for the win.

Don't get me wrong P, you probably would have won anyway. Just an example really.

Kieran wtf is happening with this tourney?
Nothing right now by the looks, I'm financially screwed and the halls I've been to with overnight housing that are either stupidly over priced or not, want advanced payment before the date the hall is used, hence, I'm pretty much ****ing screwed.

I just spent 200 pound earlier today booking a flight from Glasgow International to San Fransisco [My parents payed half of the flight] throughout the October holidays. Hence, I'm screwed. I'll most likely use Wireless internet at nights/mornings there at my girlfriends when I'm there though, so I'll still be on msn.

Although my birthday is on the 19th, so until then, I'm pretty much financially screwed.

So Nothing is happening with this so far, it's postponed to an un-known date.
