Fortunately, Ridley is only available as a boss fighter. Yes, this means that it's a new, exclusive "Ridley-Mode" where 3 players must go head-to-head against Ridley, who is controlled by Player 4. Players love the ability to play as a boss against their friends, making him awesome for casual players or at parties in general, and Ridley can't actually be accessed in the normal "Smash" option, for he only serves as a playable boss fight. The DLC is critically acclaimed for it allowing players who have become disheartened in the past that "Ridley will never be in Smash" only because he is "too big." Ridley fans are overjoyed that his "too big" nature has been utilized in such an ingenious way. There is not a single person who doesn't love Ridley Mode, and Sakurai has assured that it is here to stay for every future iteration of Smash in base form, without receiving any buffs or nerfs in the future. Of course he is OP; he's a boss. Meta Knight doesn't stand a chance.
