...you should seriously stop. This doesn't just apply to Snake, but all characters. New players usually like to practice against CPUs, this is a HUGE mistake. Firstly, you'll get used to how CPUs player and assume that most players play like that. Secondly, if you play a human player of that character (who will obviously play different and maybe even use some ATs), you will be incredibly confused. Lastly, Snake can **** CPUs with his down throw. They always roll towards the edge, so you can F-Smash towards the edge after a down throw.

Unless your MK practicing on Snake.

Then it is just fine. Because your only doing 2 combos anyways. Which work on people/cpus

its not necessarily a bad thing to practice on CPU's as long as you know what to practice. If you are just concerned with beating level 9's and consider yourself elite because you 3 stock them, then that is a bad thing.

But, if you just practice the timing of your "combos" against proper DI, then it isnt so bad. But edgeguarding against CPU's is more ******** than using your girlfriend for practice

no, practicing against CPU's is actually infinitely good. But you wont get that much better but you will only hone the stuff you already know, it also depends on how you practice and what your mindset is. only a ****** would say playing FFA's against CPU's doesnt help you learn a character faster, i think thats obvious. what this guy is saying is that you wont become great at PVP playing against computers, BUT where he is wrong is that he said you should stop because you dont get better, because you do. But like i said it more about HOW you practice and your mindset in what you think/know your getting out of it.

You'd only get better if you're practicing a true combo/chaingrab/infinite. Practicing against a human opponent is much better.

I usually practise vs the CPU to "sharpen" my reactions, especially for Powershields and stuff like that. The lv9 CPU has godly reflexes, you can actually learn from it!

I understand the idea that practicing against CPUs is counterintuitave, but your argument is terrible... it makes you sound almost ********.

"Secondly, if you play a human player of that character (who will obviously play different and maybe even use some ATs), you will be incredibly confused."

That is not a convincing point: "you will be confused". WTF does that mean, explain why.

Example:

Secondly, a large part of playing against a human opponent is the unseen mind-game that perpetuates the fight as you try and guess the next players move, however, a CPU ai is obviously different from a human mind.

"You will be confused" is not exactly convincing when it is not justified.

I agree with Gheb.

CPU's are great to raise reaction time. And actually, though most of the time Lvl 9's are turded... They seriously perfect shield and air-dodge pretty well. (occasionally)

Versus snake and Ike; don't bother... Ike tends to just suicide after being thrown off the edge. And all snakes just Cypher at the edge (and then grab their *****)

Actually I try to 3 stock Lvl 9's... or survive 2-3 lvl 7's (where all of them are teamed)
And SOOOO... i even work with 3 lvl 3's to work with spacing and such...

But you're right. Usually they will never play like humans since they ALWAYS approach and never camp.

I practice spacing against cpu's. It helps significantly.

yes. Actually. CPU's are great assets.

I do understand your point (thread host) but... people should realize that they aren't playing level nines to beat them. but to learn to be able to adapt.

and Spacing. And such. But people shouldn't expect that they just Spiked the CPU 1000 times means that they can do that to people. That just means they've learn to space correctly. But also have to remember the significant factor of good DI. Or things like CPU snake cyphers near the ledge. We don't need to practice to grab him during that. Good Snakes don't do that ****.

So forth. Blah

So if we shouldn't play computers, and not many of our friends play Brawl, then what? It's not like I'm willing to go to some persons house who I don't know just to play Brawl. It's a video game. I'll stick to computers and the occasional get together with those who do play.:psycho:
