Ok since the 1st final smash was such a success (i knew it!!!) me and King Mosquito talked for a while and we both came to the conclusion that their is time for one last true final smash tournament.

Rules:

Singles/Teams/Low Tier

Double Elimination
Matches will be best 2 of 3.
Finals and Semifinals will best 4 of 7.
Random stages: Final Destination, Pokemon Stadium, Dreamland 64, Fountain of Dreams, Battlefield, and Yoshi's Story
Banned stages: Yoshi's Island (Pipes), Fourside, Onett, Hyrule Temple, Flatzone, Brinstar Depths, Icicle Mountain, Big Blue, Mushroom Kingdom 1 and 2, Venom, Yoshi's Island 64, Peach's Castle, Kongo Jungle, Jungle Japes, and Great Bay (However, any stage is open, as long as both players agree to it)

Time Limit: 8 minutes

At the beginning of a match players can opt for a double blind pick.

Each player can strike one non random stage.

After the first round the loser picks the stage, the winner decides what character he will play and then the loser will pick their character and the next round will begin.

Stall tactics such as Rising Pound and Peach Wall bomber are banned, unless they are for recovery purposes.

No controller mods/macros, etc.

Anything not mentioned here is considered MLG rules, with the exception of the following:


WOBBLING IS BANNED. If you are wobbling for more then 2 seconds, you will forfeit the round



Prize Layout:
60% 1st
25% 2nd
15% 3rd



Crews:

Random Stages: Final Destination, Dreamland 64, Pokemon Stadium[/i]
20 stock divided among 4 or 5 players.
Each crew will have a team captain. The captain has the final word on who plays when and what character. Each player will select one character before hand, and must stick with that character until the other crew is defeated. Players can normally only change characters between rounds.

First round is a blind pick and then the losing team counters with a player of their choice. If the losing crew wants to choose the next stage, that gives their opponent the chance to counter pick their character.

NOTE: the 2 crew's playing MUSt TRADE give the other crew their list of player's with who they are playing BEFORE the crew battle commence's AND they MUST play the character that is written down under their name UNLESS the oppsiong crew counter picks a stage. thank you. i just dont want a repeat of what happened last time lol.


My Totally Random Tournament

It's basically like this:

Round 1: Both players pick entirely random characters and HAVE to use them. Then the stage is random (ALL stages on)
Round 2: Players switch to each others characters (i.e. Me Luigi You Link, then it's Me Link You Luigi) Stage selection same as before
Round 3: If it happens, new random characters are selected. Random stage again.

Other than that, all the standard rules apply

ENTRY FEE:

Single:$15 per player
Double: $10 per team
Crew: $5 per player per crew

If they happen:

Low Tier: $5 per player
Random: $1 per player

If anyone wants to form a crew, post your line up and declare your leader. You will be added in due time.

vote 1 what should the date be?

vote 2 due to time constraint's what tournament's should have priority? (1v1 2v2 etc)

vote 3 who is cooler me or king mosquito

vote 4 who is sexier mr.c or xelic (wow that's hard lolz)

also anyone who want's to contribute such as houseing gamecube's copy's of smash etc please post here that way we can have an accurate count of what we are going to be able to handle thank you.

Maybe I can possibly make it to this one, but we'll see if I think it's worth it by then.

But for the events, singles should obviously take top priority, and then teams. I think crews are popular, and really give individual players the chance to shine in front of a crowd. But I also think that some players would place considerably better in a low-tier tournament than usual, and those are pretty rare, so that might also be good. I don't care anything about the random stuff. I also think it's not quite ideal that, in crews, the best players can generally gather together and win.

So I'd like to see either low-tiers or something new (and I'm not just saying that because I play G&W--he does pretty poorly against most of the low-tiers, excepting Mewtwo). With a couple of months, I think someone should be able to come up with an interesting new idea.

I'll go/run this again if there's no sketchiness involved with personal gain. I mean, didn't you guys ever watch charmed, personal gain always ends with something bad happening, like Rose McGowan turning into a living Betty Boop.

As far as the poll;

Either before school starts back up again or MLK weekend.
Singles and Teams over everything, crews before low tier; if we learned anything from Oklahoma tournaments, low tier kills tournaments and makes people go home.

date isn''t very important, but maybe we should start the tourney a little sooner? not super early but maybe like noon on sat and 11-12 on sunday since they close earlier.

i'd also prefer the same tournaments as this past one, but i know sos was really looking forward to the random tourney. if you drop something for random or low tier i wouldnt complain, but id rather lose out on 2v2 than crews. but thats just my opinion.

xelic is one of the sexiest men alive, sorry everyone else.

I don't think people getting drunk on Saturday night is a legitimate excuse to start a tourney any later the following day. If those people want to risk being late/disqualified, that's their decision. The fact of the matter is that we need to start earlier if we want to get things done and have time for people to play matches they want to. It's a bit ridiculous when we run an hour late and have to keep the venue open and torture the employees.

I'm not a big fan of crews. >_> I'm not a big fan of low-tier either. <_<

BUT, I wouldn't mind doing a random tourney.

And I think Dallas has established itself as having the best B-team of all the regional B-teams (I think SA was the only one with all their best players) that attended. Though I admit defeat to Magnolia+Austin+CrystalCity.

But for real, only one of my classes has an actual FINAL, so I could play Smash a lot during the dead days if anyone else is free. Also, I don't think their should be a low tier tournament, because for the simple fact that the Low tier tournament disrespects us that Main and Low Tier character, have a top tier tournament instead (BUT ROK! EVERYONE USES HIGH AND TOP IN TOURNAMENTS! ) So what, I use Low Tier, don't disrespect me.

Next, The Random tournament, that idea came from me (I'm sure Bluezaft or someone else mentioned it to you eventually), my Crew, BKM, came up with the original concept, so give us our credit.

I've seen Xelic's new haircut, in person, and I wasn't sure it was he at first when he walked in my room without knocking and I thought maybe a gay elf had come to rob me. Unfortunately, it was just Jordan.

I have reconsidered. I don't really think watching a bunch of people fail at low-tiers would be much fun. Crews, on the other hand, are exciting. So if crews can go single elim, then I'm all for it, and I might even be willing to polish my Sheik a bit so I can participate without feeling like I'm cheating my crew because I want to play G&W or Luigi or Doc instead of my best character.

But I'd also like to see something interesting happen, which isn't the random tournament. Jordan only wants that because he'll probably win, unless he fights me and we get another epic Pichu ditto (I win those against him all the time because I **** and he sucks).

I've just had an idea:
Suppose you split the characters into three groups, probably based on tiers. Every set will be 3 matches, and in each match, you choose a character from the matching group. Always double blind picks. Stages the same as normal, random the first and counterpicks on the other two, best 2/3.

That would be a bit like randoms, and a bit like low-tiers, and would make things pretty interesting, I think.

I agree with Rok actually, crews had everyone pumped compared to teams. Granted we had a ton of people to fill those crews. 1v1 -> crews -> 2v2 and we still have time left over assuming we get started promptly.

There is only 1 way to get OOSers to post in it, and that's to post in in tournament discussion, it's the only way.

Also, if you're trying to get OOSers to see it, then why hide it in Reginonal Section? No OOSers are going to see it there. It's simple marketing really. This is one reason (however small it may be), that has led to Texas isolation and it annoys me greatly, not that I dislike the isolation, I like it, I just know others do dislike it yet don't take the fundamental steps to change it.
