Oh, I'm a girl. And I brawl. Just for fun, though. (:
And I love jokes that make fun of women.
So I fersher laughed at that "because she's a woman!" picture up there.

It's fun to tease seeing as how few there actually are, besides, what fun is it to get offended?

Slightly off-topic. We all know that Smash has a low female to male character ratio, but I just thought I'd point out how unusual that is for a fighting game. Most fighting games have a relatively even F2M ratio and the female characters are often better because of their speed and combo ability etc.

Of course, Smash isn't a typical fighting game, but I just find that interesting.

I forget if I posted in this topic or not. Oh well.

I've been playing Smash since the original. Videogames even longer. My brother taught me how to play some games when I was young. Unfortunately, I don't know many female Smashers around my area. My female friends play, but they're not very good. But my guy friends don't really care about gender for Smash. I quote my friend who is mildly competitive: "[My name], play! You can actually fight, I'm tired of winning all the time!"

Whoever said Dyna Dash is retired needs to get their facts straight. She still plays, but she's known as Rohins, now.

Camp more. You'll win, trust me.
Then somebody who isn't bad comes over and beats you. ;)

Camping is only effective with a few characters, and even then it's still beatable with good reflexes and knowledge of the lag frames on whatever the character is camping with.

I'm pretty sure Iron Thorn was talking about playing online. In that situation your reflexes are shot because of the incredible lag, and your best bet is to projectile spam and camp.

To Iron Thorn, learning how to space well with each char gives massive advantage over those who don't space well, seeing as everyone you use have at least mediocre range. With Zelda, abusing her high priority and quick smashes at close quarters works effectively, fsmash eats shields which is a nice plus and upsmash goes trough lots of stuff. Uair is her best kill move if you hit with it, fakeouts and predicting aerial dodges gets you a long way, especially with uair's longer startup. Her mobility is poor, so use rolls and dodges on ground often, smashes work nice with them. Dtilt is annoying if used effectively, but hard to land on moving opponent.

Din's fire is something you need to master as well with zelda, learn it's hitboxes, trajectories and predicting aerial dodges and the likes. It's also a good way to unstale your other moves. Farore's wind can possibly be used as a suprise approach method since it has hitbox when it appears, but don't use this one too often. Learn the sweetspots of her aerial moves, they're very lethal when connected. Nair lag cancels if you do it immediately and it sucks em in for nice damage, but lacks priority and range. Nayru's love has some invulnerability frames on the start and it's fairly quick.

In general, learn how to space moves, out of shield tactics, prediction and reading opponents, dodging skillz, effective usage of moves in every situation and the likes.

Online you pick Ike and use smash attacks :p

Camping also works, though.

I consider myself very lucky. I have a 12-year old sister who loves to play smash with me. Not only that, but loves playing nearly every game I do too. Halo, Animal Crossing, Star Fox, heck she's even started her own file in Twilight Princess. Don't think just because she's young she isn't good ether. Even if she can't quite overall best me in smash, she does put up a very good fight as Toon Link (she thinks he's cute) and makes an invaluable teammate by my side. She covers the air while I domain the ground. You can see how we complement very well.

Or you could, you know, not be an idiot when camping.

Isn't Fumi, the best Yoshi pro, a girl? I've also heard of a female Melee pro named Jessie, who mained Falco.

Sugarpoultry pretty famous on smashboards for her amazing sig shop. In fact, my sig was made by her.

My sister is a gamer...though she doesn't play as much as she did when she was young...=P
