Well, I mainly just wanted to know what falco can do with his jab cancel, but instead of wasting a whole topic on that I decided to start a Falco's jab thread.

If you like the idea, just go ahead and discuss it, it's set ups and all that good stuff. I'll edit this as we get more info. =]

So far-

Jab
Good for interrupting approaches.
Pressuring shields. Jabs themselves or jab canceling to tilts or aerials. Possible grab.
Stopping/interrupting recoveries.
Jab-grab. Escapable, but useful.
Jab>tilt>aerial/laserlock/boost smash/gattling combo
Jabx3>roll behind>jabx3 again
jab>dair/nair
jab cancel>boosted pivot grab
jab>forward smash
jab>reflector (can be VERY punishable and predictable)

What I'll be testing-
jab>downsmash
jab>boosted pivot grab (with them spot dodging)
jab>IAP (pivoted?)
jab>

Jab > Grab is bad. If your opponents can't shieldgrab that they're bad :( (They can grab you before you grab them)

Jab x2 > Grab is a little better.

thank you for making this thread bowz.
ok is jab cancel>grab an actual combo? like is it unescapeable? because my opponent seems to be able to sidestep or jab before i can get the grab out pretty often. I keep wondering whether im doing it right or not or is it just someting thats not a perfect combo or mainly used for shield mindgames.

jab->grab is not inescapable. it's actually quite easily escapable if they predict it right, but at lower levels of play, it may seem inescapable. this is obviously not a perfect combo, there are no combos in brawl, lol

jabX2-5-->fsmash doesn't always work good, but still works
This.

Also jabs to grabs.

Also jabs to ftilts or utilts.

Also jabs to shine.

Also just jabbing.

Falco's jab is amazing with its great range and good priority.

Jab to grab is uber when your opponent spotdodges predicting a grab. Jab the spotdodge, grab, proceed to ****.

MINDGAMEZ son.

But yes falco's jab is amazing.

Falcos jab has priority over alot of stuff.

Manly use it to set up combos (or whatever there called in brawl)

Falcos jab cancel isnt escapable in no way what-so-ever but it catches people off-guard and thats how you usually get a jab cancel > grab in

one of my favorite combos is jab cancel (2x if u want) > dtilt > spike...at around 50% its a good set-up for a ledge hog

I don't think Falco's jab really is anything special other than being a regular 2-frame jab or so. <<

jab mixups are just that: mixups. However, the sheer speed at which they are usually performed prevent retaliation and allow them to work. If predicted, you're gonna get punished, though.

Updated original post. Feel free to add more or go test some things you haven't tried before.

Also, I haven't added anything like Nair>jabs. If you want, we can add that on as well.
