er... I don't have an explanation really just kidding lol

wario can survive the chaingrab spike fairly easily if they know how to do it so that pretty much takes away a pretty big advantage we have on them

japes takes away our ability to kill with the up smash because of the high ceilling and since wario is heavier and falco is lighter it makes it easier for him to kill falco

I've played fiction on this stage a lot and I've NEVER won

FD would be your best choice as it has no platforms pictochat is really good too but FD would be your best choice

I've two questions about stages : Why BF is better than DF againt a G&W ? The platforms give GW way more advantages than falco.
Falco is generaly better on BF or Smashville ? (I think Smashville is generaly the best choose)

Thanks ! :)

In friendlies i beat dmg (easily one of the best warios in the nation) on battlefield. he said he needs to ban BF against falco because it is too hard to approach falco there.

I don't understand why BF is better than DF againt a G&W... I see only one advantage : Falco's Nair.
So, ozz, you think BF is generaly a better stage than Smashville for Falco ? Interesting.

it's harder to approach falco on FD than BF having no platforms makes it harder for wario to do anything against falco

Interesting.

I'm not very comfortable on Green Greens, so should I be taking ROB to FD, BF or Castle Siege?

After watching Minus vs Percon's ROB I saw that Minus counterpicked Castle Siege, probably because one of the other 2 stages were banned.

I don't like castle siege I think there are much better falco stages

I guess the only reason to take someone there as falco is that part of the stage where you can cg people off the stage and get the gimp, but other than that advantage I think he'd do better somewhere else

Hey Vlade, sorry for the late responce.

I went to castle siege mostly cause I've got a ton of experience vs Rob's there, but also to make it even harder for him to KO, while 2 of the transformations give a lot of room for hit and run.

Also, Falco completely dominates the first section of the level because if you hold the left side you have amazing lazer potential vs the right side of the map.
From the lower part of the level shdl hits twice on the higher portion, plus you have a platform right above your head for coverage.
Your opponent is forced to approach, and they're given horrible approach options at the same time.

But the second transformation has to be our worst, especially vs non-CGable characters. It's alright with the statues gone, but other than that, I can't really see how we can use it to our advantage.

Thanks very much Minus.

Would you have any strategies for the 2nd section of the level? It seems that ROB can just sit behind the statues to avoid lasers, and use his laser in return. I'm guessing that we should probably wait it out on this section and capitalise if ROB ever goes onto the platforms.

3rd section, judging from your video, should be treated like FD?

Anyway thanks for the explanation, I think I'm going to try out Castle Siege next time I verse ROB.

I'm so tired of jungle japes it's only good on characters you have solid 100% chain grab to spike. People know now thats why you picked it and they don't have to bother going to the middle part of the stage. JJ is too janky and the water gays me and so do the klappers. Forget this stage i'm done cp it. I'm so sick of JJ.

lol sk92 never cp it when i went to vegas, maybe there is a reason behind that.

Not to mention the stage is huge as all F and you can't kill from the middle of the stage until 150%

i two stocked DMG on FD at FS5, tourney match. but i can see why BF would be nice, wario is dair happy so that somewhat blocks his dair approaches.

and wangston i agree, i don't CP japes anymore, i just don't like it. you can't kill with the usmash, which is falcos best killing move. gay stage imo. like you said, i only used it for people i could CG > spike in the water lol.

If you don't kill with the CG > spike on Japes, you're gonna have an extremely tough time killing. It's pretty touch and go with this stage.

Yeah that is why i'm done with this stage. But everyone knows i cp this stage if they don't ban it, but now they will ban it and I'm not picking it anymore so they will waste their ban

yeah we chose smashville first stage, he won 1 stock mid%. i CPed FD, two stock him. he CPs g&w and goes RC lol i lose.

that's one thing i hate abotu falco. we don't have many good stages to play on, but we get ****ed over by a lot of stages.

Japes is a great falco stage even without the cg spike if you control the center of the stage there is nothing most characters can do against you

Japes shouldn't be a cp against MK. He has a lot of tricks there and almost always survives the water. FD is a better bet.

What tricks does MK have? And why would he survive water more than any other character?

The biggest reason I see to not pick Japes against MK is the ceiling.

I'd have to say that battlefield is just as good as FD for most characters.

The platforms make it hard for the opponent to approach, and falco is just so good at utilising the platforms and punishing anyone who is caught standing on top of them.

Like Pure_awesome said, the only bad thing about Japes really is the celing, so good luck trying to kill snake there with an usmash. I think it's a great CP against Metaknight though, because if you gain control of the middle platform (like DEHF said) the MK will find it very hard to approach. He can't really approach from above because of the platform.

Is it me or does SK92 almost always counterpick battlefield?

MK has a lot of under-platform shenanigans and weird drill rush stuff but I agree that you'll have the advantage if you control the middle. However, it's exceedingly difficult to land the killing blow because MK easily escapes the water and the ridiculously high ceiling nullifies Falco's upsmash.

MK can just jump a lot to get out of the water. He won't die unless he's further left than the left-most platform so a spike from the middle platform is only useful for racking damage.

Also, if MK gets you in the water, it's possible for him to float just above the surface (while watching out for klaptraps or w/e they're called) and dair you as you float by. Fortunately, most MK's don't know the map very well so they tend not to.

The top MK player (in my area) actually cp's jjapes a lot. He's convinced that the map is better for MK than it is for Falco.

I really hate Lylat out of all the neutrals (if it even is one.) I try to ban it as often as possible.

Why the heck would he CP japes?

He's got tonnes of better stages to choose from like RC, Frigate, Luigi's, Brinstar, etc.
lol, You don't have to tell me that... Personal preference I guess? >.>

I've started to counter pick halberd a lot more with falco

I was wondering if anyone else likes the stage as a counter pick

i don't like the moving plats section but the flat part w/ laser + claw is another matter entirely
especially b/c the nature of the stage makes it so easy to position, especially v. diddy
if mk doesn't ban it then this would be my second/third pick depending on how i'm feeling about the MK's style and smashville

Isnt the platform go-through? I guess that you phantasm through it if you phantasm.

Also, multi jumpers can stalk you from below if they have a good uair (i.e. mk's uair)
