Fact 54 - Mewtwo Is On The Way [Social/General Discussion]

I initially entered the upcoming pokemon online tournament just to receive the HA Tyrunt but I figured that I may as well try to win as many battles as possible since I'm in it anyways.

Since it's only 3rd gen pokedex pokemon only that means no Talonflame and thereby no birdspam (thankfully), so I'm building my team around potential threats that I may end up facing up, and the two I fear right now who are at the top of my head are Mega Mence and Mega Gross.
So far, I've packed a regular Sableye with Foul Play and Will-o-Wisp to inflict burn on those two and I have an Alakazam who I plan to use to revenge kill Metagross with Shadow Ball. It has a timid nature and focus sash.
I also feel that Mega Sharpedo might do pretty well against those two. With Strong Jaw + Stab Crunch and Ice Fang it might be able to deal some serious damage to them. Of course, I just let Speed Boost activate for at least one turn before Mega Evolving.

So there, I've decided only three pokemon so far. I'm considering using Wobbuffet as well. I'm also fearing the possibility of seeing Mega Mawile and Mega Pinsir a lot.

Wow Mewtwo's down smash covers both sides now! His personal commentator is also useful for distracting the enemy as you charge his shadow fruits.

And don't forget the psychic hydrant. It reads your inputs and then dislodges itself to attack you accordingly.

You missed the discussion about dating Mewtwo, didn't you? @ Deathlightning21 Deathlightning21 asked, assuming Mewtwo is real, if we would date him. Obviously, on the contingency that Mewtwo is female, I would. Good times, good times...

If Shulk made it in despite his odds, i'd say it wouldn't have been that much of a stretch for Lucas and Wolf to return had there been more development time.

I know Mewtwo wont be released at that date since its so early, just wanted to post that link lmao, but I think its probably Pokken fighters, but who knows? they might release Mewtwo VERY early just to troll the players who thought it would come out later.

I don't know about that. The deadline for redeeming game codes is March 31st, so he will either be released then or sometime later in Spring. I find it very hard to believe Nintendo would lie to their fans like that. I mean, some people might have been putting off getting a Wii U/3DS until later, when they could afford it, so those people wouldn't be glad he was releasing early; they'd be really mad. I don't think anybody, not even Sakurai, could pull off a stunt like that and have it go off without a hitch.

And we ain't just any old fans. We're Mewtwo fans. We've been deprived more than any other fanbase for a playable character, period, end of story, no contest. First, he was planned for 64, but he didn't make the cut. Then, we had our break with Mewtwo has a playable character in Melee. The hitch? He was awful. Next, in Brawl, he was almost in, but he didn't make the final cut. There was a lot of data linked to Mewtwo, possibly even voices and textures, but, for whatever reason, he wasn't. With Smash 4, we were teased with Greninja's trailer, and then Lucario was confirmed, and that's around when, it seems, our hopes started to dim. As if that weren't enough, the final roster was confirmed without him, leaving us utterly depressed. I suppose part of the reason I would consider our deprivation moreso than Roy's or Young Link's or the like is because they let those characters rest in peace instead of constantly bringing them back up and teasing their fans. That, and Mewtwo isn't a clone of anybody, so we don't have anyone to even mimic his playstyle with.
And then, in a few short seconds, everything was changed. Mewtwo was confirmed and we became ecstatic. To have that joy killed off by an outright lie would kill everything. I think I speak for most people when I say I'd rather wait for an honest deadline than have people upset because they were lied to.

I'm running Skarmory for setup, Aggron for Banded Head Smash Spam, and a Megamence that has it's stats well rounded because I was too lazy to EV train it proper. Still a Aerilate Thrash is no laughing matter. Facade if they were stupid enough to status me like a little *****.
