As in his data will be on your Wii so that you can still encounter Mewtwo players online, but you won't be able to play as him unless you buy the DLC. Because the only alternatives I see are either segregating the online multiplayer population or disallowing Mewtwo to be played online. How did Street Fight IV resolve online play when it came to DLC?

Yes, there will, with little doubt in my mind, be a mandatory update if you want to play online and it will work just as you described.

As for your second question, he'll also, with little doubt in my mind, have trophies and a congratulations screencap/video. He's a playable character and will be treated as such.

The mandatory update part not only its a yes its clearly the update that addes the miiverse stage and online and offline tourny mode

Definitely. They did it with the DLC in Mario Kart 8, so there's no reason not to do it for Mewtwo. As for the trophies and other Solo stuff, also definitely. He's a playable character, so once again there's no reason not to do it. For the video and milestone message, definitely a video if he has an announcement one, and maybe a milestone message for downloading the DLC. The stages and tracks are also possible, but they will likely give you the option to separate from people who don't have DLC in order to prevent podlike who don't have the DLC from experiencing the stages and tracks, like in Mario Kart 8.

Being a rare creature to have played other fighting games extensively such as Mortal Kombat I am very confident that there will be a patch to make Mewtwo compatible with all copies of Smash 4.

There needs to be one for Mewtwo to even be in the game in the first place. It's not as simple as just adding Mewtwo's data as they gotta patch in things like Kirby hat data, announcer clips, ending clip, ending puzzle pictures, menu stuff, statistics data and so on.

The best KO punch is turning Mewtwo X and using Drain Punch. If you don't resist it then good luck trying to damage race that. Personally I prefer having my X build Mewtwo do low kicks to the balls.

Silly does not describe the damage output here on anything bar Ghost, Poison, Fairy, Flying or Bug.

And that's why Mewtwo has a massive move pool.

I am incredibly indecisive when it comes to mains it seems. When Mewtwo comes out I'm probably going to use him a lot.

I feel ya. I tend to stick to 2-3 mains per game but I've been having a tough time choosing these days, especially in PM. I'm pretty set on Mewtwo and Wolf, but I've been really liking Marth and Link lately despite usually having Roy or Samus as a secondary. I like all the characters in my sig for Smash 4, but I really enjoy Kirby and Zelda too.

If you unlock Mewtwo when he is released and haven't completed challenges that make you do something with all Characters would you also need to do it with Mewtwo or not?
