For me, hearing people say Ness and Lucas have very little differences is like hearing people say Mewtwo and Lucario have very little differences. I played as both a lot in Brawl, and I had to use both differently.

Edit: Lucas' b-air can spike if timed and positioned correctly. Ness' just goes in one direction. Lucas has an extra recovery option with tether. Wolf's reflector comes out slower but the projectile is reflected faster. Lucas' PK Fire travels further and pushes opponents back while Ness' may trap opponents who don't know how to DI out of it. Lucas' Psi Magnet may do damage while Ness' can't.
Ness and Wolf also have different smash attacks and tilts...

If you're playing as them, then of course you'll be more in tune with their differences. But your opponent, does he even care which one you choose?

Bair... It has short reach, correct? Ness's Dair can meteor. Your opponent doesn't care what buttons you press, just the results.
Last I checked, it wasn't exactly something to put much trust in. True enough to the game, him?
And more powerfully.
Probably the most significant difference.
Like anybody will ever get hit by it outside of some glitch. It's considered to be useless in SSB4, even.

I just see all these tiny changes as wasted effort. They could of put all that work into giving them something people will notice, something that'll make people treat them much more differently. You'll see significantly different matchups for Pit and Dark Pit, and there's only three moves with any difference at all.

I don't know what you are referring to with "True enough to the game." And I am not competitive enough to know the differences in matchups for Pit and Dark Pit. I'll just say I can't win in an argument about competitive play and that Ness and Lucas are different enough to me to only be clones when it comes to special moves and a couple other moves. Just as an opponent might not care whether I use Ness or Lucas in Brawl, I don't really care if people use whatever similar or clone character in any Smash game. I'll try to win, but I mostly play for the fun of it. I don't like arguing, and I don't want this ruining the game for me. I agree that there are more differences between Wolf and Fox btw, but I don't agree that certain clones are more different than Ness and Lucas. I do agree that clones play differently from each other though, and I still think Ness and Lucas need to be played differently.

Rope Snake screws up a few times in Mother 3 and leaves the team because of it.

But I suppose we're at an impasse if you don't really understand competitive play.

Wait....you mean 4, right?
Electoshock Arm (more damage, less knockback, sends in a horizontal direction)
Silver Bow/Arrows (more damage, more knockback, less control and distance)
Forward Tilt (less knockback)
Forward Throw (slightly more knockback)

...off topic, sorry. Anyways guys, do you think Psystrike will be one of Mewtwo's standard attacks, a custom, or his Final Smash?

I just assumed the Fthrow's difference was just the CPU Mario DIing. Besides, KOing 1% quicker isn't exactly worth mentioning...

I think it's possible for Mewtwo to Mega Evolve then use Psystrike because Smash logic.

I imagine Mewtwo's final smash being similar to Super Sonic. Evolving into his Y form and flying around causing damage to anyone that's in its way. Although this would be a terrible idea...

Do you guys suppose the Final Smash could involve Mewtwo Mega Evolving into Mewtwo-Y and then using Psystrike?
Yes. Mainly for that symmetry of Charizard morphing into his X Form. Having Mewtwo go Y would balance it out. And the Y form looks the best on Mewtwo anyway.

I do so wish the mega forms were alt costumes.

I'm still all for the idea of Mega Mewtwo X being an alt skin for Mewtwo.

Dude....mega mewtwo X/Y is a final smash not a alt

And plus how would mewtwo be able to transform to mewtwo Y when hes in Y when its impossble to switch megas during battle and when megas turn off when the battle is over (or in this case when the time expires of this final smash)

This is Smash bros. He shouldn't be turning into Mega anything without a trainer. It's best not to make sense of everything.

Or even better, Jigglypuff with Ganondorf's laugh.
I feel like this has been done.

On an earlier subject, we should all expect Mewtwo's Y form to make an appearance. It's the most popular. Although I would rather the mega forms not make an appearance whatsoever. Mewtwo's and Salamence's mega forms make me physically sick to think about.

All Mega Evolutions are pretty awful. The only ones I like are Charizard X and Blazikens, and even Blazikens is pretty bad.

Finally, I don't feel like the odd one out for despising the mega evolutions. Hoping Mewtwo doesn't get one in Smash...eek..

The Mega Mewtwos, Mega Salamence, and Heracross are the only ones that really bother me. Everyone else is bearable. I honestly don't know what they were thinking with the Mega Evolution mechanic to begin with. It doesn't make the gameplay any more strategic or enjoyable.

On the subject of Megas, I always really liked Mega Banette. It's one of the most over-hated ones out there but I love the way it looks and it's really fun to use!

Mega Banette IS actually pretty cool looking. I agree with the masses though, its not really a Pokémon that warrants a Mega Evolution.

I think it warranted one simply because regular Banette wasn't all that great. I can actually use its mega form competitively and I've done pretty good with it overall.

Most megas are of Pokemon that are already overpowered and perfectly viable without one. Show me a Mega Mantine or Mega Sandslash, let's give those underdogs the boost they need!

I was in deep, Pokemon related thought, when I realized that Goldeen is the Pokeball "dud" and Magikarp isn't. This greatly bothers me now.

I've always wanted Goldeen to become useful if it fell in water...or just replace Goldeen with Magikarp.

How much do you guys think Mewtwo's moveset will change, if at all? Will it be mostly the same, like Bowser, or will it be changed drastically, like Falco?

Probably mostly the same. Falco probably keeps changing so much because they want to make him less of a fox clone while Mewtwo is a clone of no one.

I'm thinking they might change his F-smash and some specials.

I think it'll stay the same.
