Since around 2 or 3 years ago, I find myself thinking back to my childhood a LOT. I'm only 17 right now but still, I continually long for my 12 - 15 yr old days. Is this normal especially at this stage? Or is it just a bit abnormal to long for the past so much?

I do think about my childhood a lot.

It's pretty normal,I find it nice to just look back on all the fun times I had.

But I gotta say being grown up is better, for many many reasons.

Funny you've brought this up. About a month or two ago I spent some time watching old commercials on Youtube that I saw in the 1990's all the time. I'm amazed I still rememered some of them like for example the Got Milk one where the milk carton is making fun of the basketball players on an outdoor court. I've also been playing some SNES games that I played all the time as a child.

Yeah, the past is awsome to look back on and to keep it going I try and do fun things in the moment so I can look back on them and be like. "Oh, on October 26, 2009 I did this."

Last week I finally got to play Pokemon Red for the first time in my life since I was about 3 years old. I remember I had Pokemon Blue because I can remember the Blastoise on the box. I swear when I played Pokemon Red I nearly cried. I even named my Squirtle Nostalgia XD. Ahhhh good times, good times

I'm also 17. Yes I am going through the extreme Nostalgia phase, watching old movies like Lion king repeatedly, playing retro games and hating almost all new gen, remembering moments from when I was a child, wishing I wasn't exposed to this corrupt world and could retain the innocence and simplicity of my childhood. Yes it is a natural phase for you right now, because you are so close to nearing adulthood.

jolly old england. hohoho.
When I hear music that used to play on the radio in the early 90's or from old videogames I get nostalgic. I was such a different person then.

But I don't really miss my teenage years. Wouldn't change them, but wouldn't want to relive them if you know what I mean.

ruby was DEFINITLY my favorite pokemon game! so much to love about R/S/E
What thats crazy! Pokemon Sapphire was the best one. How do I know? I used to own it until I lost it. But I am playing Emerald now because the curiosity of how the battle frontier looks like got to me. But I still like Pokemon Sapphire best. Kyogre>Groudon and Latias>Latios (and I had about 10 Latias's from finding them in the wild XD)

Recently I have been reminiscing more about the past and wondering if I made the right choices, I'm not beating myself up about them though. :)

It's not extreme. Just something to think about.

I got a huge amount of nostalgia from "Where the Wild Things Are" actually, it was more like I re-lived my kindergarten days, since I felt things I hadn't felt since then. It was a very dramatic moment. Cried a lot.
