Well it's a cool idea. I can't imagine how much bias would go into it though. I mean the individual state(NJ) had issues with just us alone. Not so sure it could happen tbh.

True, but thats the same situation for a single state PR. Not every person attends every event and thus it would be activity only based. I admit it would be more difficult though. I certainly wouldn't want it to replace the PR's we have now anyway. It was just an idea. I turned down being part of the NJ PR soley bc I didn't want to make such decisions. Both states, no thank you

Inui, his argument still stands you know. If you somehow manage to create one, unified PR for New York and New Jersey, then you can combine them into New Jork/Yersey! And Candy walks away in shame.
But, I don't think you can. It's too hard. Not because you have so many good players (lol, that can be another debate,) but because you have too many people in general, and therefore too many differing opinions to decide on a PR list. Unless all the best players from both regions commonly attend the same tourneys. (Which doesn't happen as much as, what do you know, MD/VA!)
For this reason alone, NY/NJ can't be acknowledged as one region. Which isn't bad at all. I don't know why you keep wanting them to be one region. What's wrong with having an allied region? You already have separate PR lists, are friendly with each other, and go to each other's tournaments. Unless you're afraid NJ can't stand on its own. lol
You're combining two states because:
1) They're friendly with each other and
2) They neighbor each other.
That's not enough. That's not why MD/VA is one region.

I don't consider NJ/NY one region but this PR excuse is soooo bad. A PR would be needed for each state on population alone even if EVERY event had ALL of NJ and ALL of NY. It is a matter of population which demands two PR's whether everyone considered us the same region or not.

Unfortunately, I'll have to take Inui's side on this, because whether you realize it or not, you are biased.
Unfortunately, there is no standard written in stone for what a region is (or none that I know of), therefore, everyone will have a different perception on what a region is. Some may determine what a region is by population, geographical location, or other factors of this nature, but either way there are different perceptions. Your connotation of a region is from what you experience in your region and you believe that you set the standard for it. Since, again, there is no standard for it, we all perceive it differently and of course our different opinions will lead to conflict of some sort.
Since there is standard for what a region is, you cannot say that NJ/NY is a not a region. You think that we are not, but that is your opinion and until a group of people write up rules defining a region, you cannot win this "argument"

We are one region. In all tournaments there are people from NY and NJ. People team together from different regions and people are in the same crews.
I live in NJ and many tournaments that are closer to me are in NY.
There are almost never two tournaments on the same day. I don't remember the last time two tournaments of the same game were on the same day in NY/NJ.

Pretty sure NJ/NY can be considered one region all the time. The reason being, like everyone said, is that we always go to each other's stuff...as in...always.
