El paso TMS - brawl/melee tournament Nov. 14th-16th (MK is banned)

yah forget that banning MK for pools only besides hardly anyone uses MK here your going to see a lot of Ikes falcons and ganons at the tournament. There where like 20 Ikes last time at MP and I was like the only one who made it past round 2 lol. There will probably be talk about banning MK tomorrow since everyone will be at the smash fest we have here on Tuesdays everyone will be there except me .

There will be no HD TVS on my part I don't waste money on stuff like that. Do any of you guys know if antenna connections cause lag as well? I felt it at one tournament or there TVs sucked but just want to make sure in case we use VCRS to record.

I say we vote for banning mK right at the beggining of the tourney or as they sign up. I don't mind being in charge of that.
OOS people start sending PMs or AIM to Arturito Burrito, Vermillion, Or furiousduffmanx if you need info or housing so we can list more stuff.
NOW that we are having a lot of support of Out Of State people, i am considering of talking to The District manajor of Game Crazy to see if we can get more stuff.

Arturo i agree on your idea on Pools and melee the first day, then the rest for the second. OOS we need your opinion on that too.

I'm writing the letter to rudolf right now but I feel like I'm doing an awful job at it. luckily my accounting teacher who is the senior class sponsor does this stuff all the time and she agreed to peer edit it for me. No announcement at school either because we're just a bunch of nobodies according to EPISD but I did take out a 2 by 4 add on in the school news paper hope that attracts people.

This time it is excepted that the attendance will receive over a hundred people for the main event. People from out of state are finally going to pay attention to El Paso and show up for this. We have people from Arizona, New Mexico, and central Texas already talking about showing up for this and we have only been advertising for about 3 days.

In order to make this the best experience we can for all of the people showing up I am asking for your help. We would greatly appreciate it if you could help with a contribution to the prize pot. We will be advertising all over the city with this and Rudolf Chevrolet’s name could be in ever single flyer and ad we take out from the moment your contribution is confirmed. We will even get the best people we can find to do flyers for us and distribute hundreds of copies in gaming stores, schools, youth centers, and other youth related activities.


I would like to thank you for your time in reading this as well. Most people now a day consider video gaming a waste of time and money but it is really a big part of society now, even if it is looked down upon as childish and damaging it actually helps people out. Video games now are pretty much like any other sport they keep teens away from bad influences and there are hardly any events like these near the border land, possibly two or three a year and none have ever been sponsored so once again thank you for your time.

Your grammar is fine i believe. I don't like the words PRIZE POT on there. Too slang, explain how the prizes will be, and possibly distributed. Any type of sponsorship will be accpeted. We will have a semi good tournout. There is like 15 of us that know each other and will join.

Anyway, we will decide tomorrow whether or not MK will be banned from this tournament. ALSO, there is 1 HD tv we will be using during the tournament that I know of. The rest depends on who brings setups. I will, by request, move you to another tv if you do not wish to play on the HD tv. Not that I think it matters... Maybe in Melee... but this is Brawl... But there will be 1 HD tv present, but its no reason to get your panties in a bunch. ALSO! I will NOT be giving out Gamecube/Wii controllers to ANYONE. Last time, the store ended up losing 1, and the time before we lost 2. So bring your own stuff or borrow one from a friend.

You should consider banning MK for this tournament. No governing body will come to a decision any time soon, so it is up to the community to make the decision.

Ban Metaknight.

I had thought of doing a "secret ban," seeing as most of the people who post on here will make it to the later stages of the tournament. I do not want to ban him outright because it will definitely hurt the attendance of the scrubs whose monies we want to take. Perhaps we should ban him from Quarter or Semi-Finals and up?

No offense, but that's a stupid idea. That's like banning a stage for half the tournament, or making half the tournament 4 stock. It doesn't make any sense.

Arturo might have you covered on that. He did say he might be able to fit about 30ish. ( better bring a sleeping bag ) Enough of this "world rocking" the only thing thats gonna be world rocking is this tourney!

I really think you guys should wait for Hobo 12 and read feedback there cause at houston a good 1/3 of the players were metaknight player so the ban would be so much more significant there. Thats just my opinion though.
