So which characters are the easiest to get the hang of?

IMO, Sheik is pretty easy. You've got Ftilt, Ftilt, Ftilt to Fair. Dash attack. Chaingrabs on like half the cast.

And a 2-hit Fsmash? WTF.

Discuss.

Jigglypuff and Sheik are the easiest characters to win with.

Every character except the unlockables are the easiest to play. You simply have to put your coin on their name and press Start. Then you're playing them.

The top tiers.

They're all so good you can kind of make bad decisions in move selection but their incredible range, frame safety, etc. will probably protect you.

Hold on, it's much harder than that. You also have to choose a stage

including spacing right, technicality, and ability to read, i would have to say sheik.

pretty good range, a decently fast character, and not a whole lot of complex button pressing.

EDIT: Also, my friend thinks Peach is so easy to play its unfair. What can I say to prove him wrong? Or is he right?
Peach is pretty easy up to a point. It's pretty easy to ***** downsmash on platforms, but this just won't cut it against capable opponents; and once you get to the fun stuff like shield pressuring with fc aerials, or catching turnips (for example in off stage edge guards against spaces), or some other things, Peach can get pretty demanding on the techskill side

Marf is easiest, for serious.

Push forward on C-Stick until you win. Maybe jump a few times before you push forward on the C-stick.

Once you've gotten good at techskill Falco is a pretty brain dead character. Shiek is also very easy to use.

Thats the problem I'm having, I openly admitted when I first started with Peach that I was pretty much spamming turnips until somebody approached me and then downsmashing, which only worked for like 2 minutes until people just started destroying me. Then I worked at the character and am becoming better but people still mock it as easy mode :(
keep with your character. haters gonna hate, and there are a lot of haters for each high tier character. dont ***** out just because people are calling you out for anything

Yeah omg that Fsmash is sooooo gooooooooood because it has two hits.

You're probably joking but anyways

It's never easy to play Marth because you have to combo people to death when they're in the 60-100% range. If you deal too much damage you lose any reliable KO setup you might have. He doesn't have that quick aerial KO move like Falcon, Sheik, spacies etc. and that's a huuuge handicap IMO.
He is also a really fragile character that gets comboed and edgeguarded easily.
When played right he's an amazing character, but it's anything but easy.
It doesn't help that everyone knows how to play against him.

this topic isn't good for virtually the same reasons as the other topic.

characters will be harder/easier for different people. Some people are more attuned to campier characters, others want to play aggressive but are limited by their character

Personally, characters without great approaches are the toughest to me. I am an action guy and want to press buttons and attack. But some people are extremely patient and not susceptible to BOREDOM. Perhaps for those people shiek/marth are 'easier'

in a different way, some people are not so much affected by aggressive/defensive/versatile styles and are affected by technical ability needed. There may even be weirdos out there that find characters that take more technique easier than characters without

I know, right?

In the majority of cases, you can see a very clear relation between which character(s) a person mains and which characters they consider easy/hard to play.

Bias bias bias.

I wish people would stop debating this dumb subject.

Peach certainly isn't the easiest, ( sheik is in my opinion, ) but she is one of the easiest. Down smash and dash attack. you don't even have to L-cancel.
