Event - E3 Invitational 2014 E3 2014 speculation: Any more to come?

I've become convinced that time is getting slower and slower the closer we get to E3. The past month or so have sailed past, but something tells me this week is going to outright drag.

I feel the EXACT same way. It feels like I have been waiting for months now when I have only really been waiting for 3 or 4 weeks.

I do think Palutena is in, but I'm not necessarily expecting her to be revealed at E3 unless we get more than 3 newcomers revealed.

Yea Palutena is a no-go for E3 especially if that leak was real. She's gonna be a secret character. Why reveal a character everyone knows is already in the game? That would be a hype killer for sure. inb4 Palutena is "disconfirmed" because she wasn't at E3 and thats the "best" time to reveal her.

Well, being 'known' to be in the game won't change Nintendo's plans about revealing her or not.

Why would Palutena be revealed now over any other particular character? If they were just going to reveal her because of the leak, then they would've done it at the last Direct. Plus, as others have said, she's probably a secret character. I'm not expecting any specific newcomer at E3, and I don't see how anyone else has any reason to.

Why? For the same reason anyone would be reveal. Cuz' she's suppose to, IF she's suppose to.
Also, I've seen nothing indicating she'd be hidden. Plus, they've already revealed a ton of hidden characters, so that won't stop them anyways.

There are two developer conference that would discuss on Smash 3DS and unannounced 3DS game. Both would last for a hour and half.

Looking back at the 4 hidden newcomers in Brawl, Lucario's job of being Pokemon related hype was done by the trainer, ROB was meant to be the unexpected retro and Toon Link & Wolf were both semi-clones so there wouldn't be that much hype for them compared to say Wario or King Dedede.

I don't think Palutena would fit into those categories.

Technically it's Q&A for last 30 minutes of the conference right? That's if I remembered it correctly since I'm pretty sure that they would running similar format with Pokemon Developer Conference last year.

I don't think Palutena will necessarily be unlockable, but she's not going to build hype or get as many people talking about Smash as Pacman, or a character that the majority of Smash fans have wanted for years and years like Ridley or K. Rool.

She could be revealed at E3, but I'm not expecting it.

Well, that is what I suggested on Palutena's thread. I think she should be part of the "main newcomer"s trailer, maybe Ridley's.

Snake? Please... I want him back, but using a veteran to build hype would be so disappointing. Newcomers please.

They could say they have a special trailer for us and at first it seems like Palutena is reveled for Smash then they make a fake out for a new Kid Icarus game for Wii U. After they show the real trailer for Palutena in Smash.

Yes, but the Villager wasn't a very requested character, even though Animal Crossing is a popular franchise.

I agree that Palutena by herself isn't E3 material. She needs to be revealed together with a very request character, like Ridley.

I'd say the introduction of an extremely popular Nintendo Franchise to the Smash Series is E3 worthy.

I know Palutena is quite popular among Smashers, but she's probably not going to grab media attention to the extent that a character like Pac-Man, or Ridley will.

I think she could be revealed, but probably only if we get a ton of newcomers dropped on us at E3, which wouldn't surprise me if they want to prevent any Brawl-like leaks from happening before the game hits.

Which is entirely possible. The 3DS version is coming soon, so they will either announce a ton of newcomers in 6 days or they will leave a ton of newcomers as unlockable/secret characters. Or in the worst scenario, there aren't a ton of newcomers to be revealed.

I can see Palutena being revealed, not as the first or second choice, but maybe the third or fourth. I think she's popular enough, but I do think her being unlockable is also possible.

There's no source for this logic. Its just common sense. Sakurai doesn't just sit down and say "Okay, there's gonna be (insert number here) characters in Smash Bros, no more." The only limit to the slots is Sakurai's willingness to incorporate characters, and development time.
