Really like your commitment to posting vids, @
Luigisama
. Nice work. Also, I'm no Smash pro, but I do love playing Luigi, so I hope that qualifies me to critique your vids! Here's what I saw:
Things I Liked:
1. Good aerial spacing and short hop pressure throughout, especially @3.07 and @3.25.
2. Effective use of missile and fishing for a misfire, see @ 2.54 specifically. Note how using the missile in the air and allowing Luigi time to fall away from the opponent makes it significantly safer on hit or shield. I think this will be the key to good missile use: use it when the opponent is in the air or on a platform.
3. Use of Down Smash on Luma @ 2.33. This seems to be the best answer for Luma I can come up with so far. Dsmash is Luigi's least useful kill smash, and is very useful for damage racking or getting the opponent off of you, so I think Luigi shouldn't worry about "wasting" a good kill move on Luma.
4. Good read on the Up Smash @ 3.49. I think this really shows off Rosalina's lightweight class* (she was at 108% before the Usmash), and how though she can be a pain to get in on, Luigi's still solid kill moves can help him finish the job earlier then she can him.
Things I'd Like to See More Of:
1. Pretty often in the match you approached with a short hop Fair or Bair or tried to put up close pressure on with a cyclone or Usmash instead of using one of Luigi's greatest new tools: his Down Throw (@.50, @1.13, @2.19, @2.50, @3.25). While I think it's important for Luigi to mix up his approach, the fact that Luigi can threaten so much potential damage plus better positioning plus interrupting the opponent's offense with his Dthrow is too good to pass up. I think that alone would have helped in the matches. Unless Rosalina can use Luma to save her while she's being juggled?
Overall, really great matches, I enjoyed watching them.
