Does it matter to you what a singer's gender is?

Everyones voice varys so much, that it doesnt even matter what gender they are. You'll either like them, or not. But you know who should team up and make a band, Randy Newman and Prince, the artist formaly known as. *insert symbol* whatever it is.

anyway, like I've said about many bands that people love only for the main singer, it doesn't matter WHO is singing it, as long as it sounds decent.

(I have to say that a lot because there are like legions of people around me in rl who are obsessed with Taylor Swift and think her music is the best just because she's hot. I can't stand her music, so I'm not. I get laughed at a lot now... XD)

I think Tokio Hotel's singer looks like a boy, but he definitely has a very feminine style. I can understand why one might be confused at first. Though, after seeing a few pictures, the lack of breasts might make you curious.

I'm with the other metal-heads on this one. There are very few female voices I can stand. The lead singer of Arch Enemy is cool, but I heard she messed up her vocals from growling incorrectly.

For girls I prefer a strong powerful voice with lots of presence.. hard to describe in words, something like Ann Wilson.

Well, he is my favorite singer because he sings my favorite songs =]. I just like the effect.

And his live stuff is good too, although im sure I am only getting a small portion of what it really is via guy with camcorder.

It doesn't matter to me at all. I like more bands that have male singers, but that's just a result of me liking their music, as well as because there are more rock bands with male singers than there are with female singers. Still, I really like some female led bands, such as the Yeah Yeah Yeahs

I tend to listen to male voices more but that because I like rock and metal and generally most bands in that genre have male vocals.

Women voices tend to be more pop orientated while male voices make better rock artist. I tend to listen to the latter because pop songs all sound the same to me now in this day and age. Music has become too repetitive to me.
