Does Brawl+ change item physics?

I think so. The timer and Shadow the hedgehog do as well.
No, those are just side effects of a few codes code, but the timer effect is fun if you know how to utilize it.

Brawl+ was/is still being developed for competitive play, and items do not fit in that category, which is why they are auto shut off by a code. Most items still can be used, but as already stated, time effecting items and the smash ball (Captain freezes) have side effects due to other codes, and even though they can be fixed easily, If it doesn't effect competitive play, by either enhancing or balancing, then the B+ team will not fix or add it.

^Since the throw mod was removed, Final smashes don't freeze anymore.

No, items are used in tournaments, grenades, bananas, Wario Hog, box, Power Suit pieces, turnips... this is what I am wondering about primarily.

This is mostly true, but it has been proven false by several codes added to the sets. If it doesn't effect competitive play, by either enhancing or balancing, the Brawl+ team will not make it a priority.

This does have an effect on competitive play, just minimal.

Let's see:

Grenades: Projectile
Banana: I guess you could count this as an item
Wario Hog: I guess you could count this as an item
Box: What box? Snake's? LOLOLOLOLOLOL
Power Suit Pieces: I guess you could call these items
Turnips: Projectiles

And, no, B+ didn't change anything about them physics wise. They are the same as they are in vBrawl simply because they don't need to be changed in that way because they are fine as they are.

The things that you ask about that concern you Slashy are often really dumb ones tbh.

If it can be picked up like an item, thrown like an item, and dropped like an item... it's probably an item! All of those are items. Period.

...although I still don't see slashy's point. Like... at all. The items still fall at the same speed as they do in vbrawl... so? Some characters fall at the same speed as vbrawl, and every character falls at a different speed. How is this any more awkward than having different characters falling at different speeds?

The Jump/Grav code allows you to change the speed at which items are thrown/projectiles fly.

No, the modern one which neither Brawl+ nor Melee 2.0 uses has this ability. Of course, by modern I mean I released it over half a year ago.
