What about a Level-5 rep? Like Jibanyan or Professor Layton, it would be a unexpected guest because of Level-5 financial failures and problems.

I would like Jibanyan PURELY for "Gera Gera Po"

Plus he IS a cat and he likes it like that. He washes his butt in a laundromat and tells half truths like a diplomat

PAWS OF FURYYYYYYYY! NYA NYA NYA NYA NYA NYA!

Finally a chance to talk about Zegram Ghart!

He’s never going to happen but I legit really want Zegram Ghart from Rogue Galaxy. Zegram was such an awesome character and has one of my favorite designs of any video game character ever and was voiced by one of my favorite voice actors ever (Steve Blum). Unfortunately, Rogue Galaxy was PS2 exclusive and Zegram wasn’t even the main character. In the extremely unlikely event that Rogue Galaxy gets a character, it would almost certainly be Jaster.

I am counting your most wanted character out. I find them boring. Lets hope for my most wanted character.
He was already miied. Which i am pretty sure is the fate of Ryu also. We have arbitrary hooks for dr mc boring already and the openness is not really nda. People only really say him because of prior old leaks and/or convoluted reasons.

STILL no event

...this usually precedes a reveal right?
Last time this happened was the first week of September. That week there was no event.

Prior time the event was announced late and was a Octopath spirit event.

Neither time meant a reveal was near.

Oh um

I’ve actually been debating sharing this but I might as well

you know how Senran Kagura Estival Versus had Ayane and a Kasumi costume as guest dlc?

well uh

it would SEEM that the license expired... maybe KT’s picky about licensing guest appearances in other games? Idk as this seems to be only one example but it’s giving Sora in WoFF flashbacks
I think another KT license example is where Kasumi made a appearance in the Queen's Gate book series, but she didn't shows up in the video game adaptation Queen's Gate: Spiral Chaos. It is strange since there are other characters like from Samurai Shodown, Guilty Gear, Soul Calibur, Tekken, Fatal Fury/KOF, and Blazblue, who appears in both version without any licensing issues. Though, because of this license issue, Kasumi would be replaced by Wonder Momo in the video game version.

Expecting a reveal? Bruh we just got one in February. It's too soon.
We got one in October(Steve), followed by one in December(Sephiroth). 2 months apart.

Feb to April is also 2 months. And we are down to the last two characters, which means that they could potentially release them faster now that they don't have as many to focus on. It isn't that farfetched, in my opinion, but we'll just have to wait and see.

I do think it’s a shame that Koei-Tecmo may not get a character this time around. As much as I love Hayabusa, and whether you do or don’t, you have to admit that it’s crazy one of Nintendo’s biggest collaborators that’s worked on Pokémon, Zelda, Fire Emblem, and more hasn’t gotten anything aside from stuff that’s co-owned by Nintendo. Sure you got spirits in Hyrule Warriors and Fatal Frame and one single Spirit from Persona but KT has been in the Nintendo family circle since before the Wii U so it’s just strange.

You could say Nintendo is trying to develop new relationships through Smash and I would agree with you if it weren’t for Square getting 3 characters in total through the DLC and Microsoft getting 2. It’s just all over the place to be honest and it’s shocking we haven’t gotten a character from Ubisoft or Activision either but I don’t think as much so as KT.

All in all I personally don’t think this means Hayabusa is disconfirmed because, well I’m an optimist to be frank, but if he doesn’t show up in the last 2 It’ll be a bit of a bummer. I know he’s not everyone’s favorite, and I know people are assuredly sick of talking about him through the DLC speculation but for a character with so much history and legacy with Nintendo and from a company who collaborates with Nintendo seemingly every year at this point not to make it in... it’s just a shame.
Yeah, I pretty much agree with you. It's kinda "ironic" that Square, a company most people considered very stingy even if it wasn't true, became the first third party company with 3 unique characters, 2 of them during Ultimate's DLC, while other companies that have been seemingly more supportive and close to Nintendo never got anything in the form of playable characters, besides Pacman during Smash 4.

Ubisoft and Activision I'm not that sure, I think Crash has also very high chances to make it eventually, but I feel Koei Tecmo and specifically Hayabusa are just a matter of time. Nothing against other KT series! Just that I'd be surprised if Hayabusa wasn't our first KT rep.

I think this also happened a few months ago, and we didn't get any special announcement, and the spirit event/tourney just was announced a few hours later than usual.

In any case it's too early for a reveal.

Eh, idk when that DLC first released, but I imagine it was up for a fair amount of years before the license expired whereas Sora in WoFF was only available in a very limited timeframe of 2 months. The comparison is few and far in between.

The fact that we are getting a delay on this event/tourney on the last day the Mario 35th anniversary stuff is either a weird coincidence (The most likely answer) or it is a hint that we might be getting something, Like a Switch Pro Mini-direct or some **** like that.

(I don't actually expect anything, I was just putting my thoughts out there)

Sega was (:ultsonic::ultbayonetta::ultjoker:), but it’s still impressive that Square was second to it.

You're right, I don't know how I got that wrong lol

This brings back memories. Tekken 3 was my first Tekken game and loved it. Then I remember buying Tekken 1 and 2 and despite being not as good as 3, I still had a lot of fun.

But 3 still remains as one of my favorite PS One games. Also one of the best fighting games I've played. It was amazing.

Eh, it makes sense. Bayonetta is basically Nintendo’s at this point & Atlus still sort of acts independent despite being owned by Sega lol

"Never ask me for anything ever again. See you ****heads in two to four years."
More like "Thank you for playing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. I hope you enjoyed the game. Now go away. Never ask me for anything ever again."

I know you said the "Never ask me for anything ever again" already, but I had to say it like this.

Speaking of Tekken 1, I can never think of that game without remembering its weird ass character select animations

I had to see these back then so now you have to as well

So, when the last character is revealed and Sakurai ends the video showing off the final character, how do you think he'll end the video as he ends development on Smash Bros. Ultimate as a whole?
I imagine it’ll be a retrospective on the game & Smash Bros as a whole. It’s a game that celebrates Nintendo’s history & some of gaming’s greatest series/icons. He’ll mention how amazing it is that a game like this exists & how something like this could only happen in the video game art form.

Looks like an old PC game from the 90s.

Makes since. I can see them going with it.

He'll quickly jump up from his seat, and proceed to run away towards the horizon while screaming "FREEEDOM! FREEEEEEEEEEEDOM!"
