I don't technically consider it a true "leak" in the proper sense. As I already stated, in my eyes the Rapper Mario leak is both a real leak and a fake leak. Since you like puzzles so much, why not hand you this riddle?

For reference, here is the original "leak".

Notice how the post is much more specific about CP11 than CP10 or CP9.

Also notice that there is a glaring omission in this "leak" compared to the additional content we have received since this was posted.

Those are the last hints I'm giving you regarding this. I'm not going to do your homework for you. FP2 started with a guessing game, so why not wind things down in the final weeks with a riddle:

How can a leak be both real and fake at the same time?

Just to be clear, real leaks are almost never formatted like this. There's none of this guessing game bs, it's either a succinct and direct statement of what we're getting, or a strong implication of a specific character.

We don't know when the "Mr.Sakurai presents: Kazuya!" was filmed, but something tells me that if it had been filmed pre E3, then we wouldn't have had to get that little blurb with Sakurai going "We haven't filmed it yet!"


Isn't that literally enough to bury Rapper Mario? Since it quite clearly alluded to the CP11 presentation being done and filmed already in January iirc?

Rapper Mario is full of ****, but I can probably guarantee you that the little "We haven't filmed it" and Kazuya's Presentation were filmed on the same day. Sakurai saying "we haven't fillmed it yet" was accurate at the actual time he said it, but not at the time it was broadcast, but that's not something consumers need to know.

Because by that point, he was only working on the first wave of DLC and he wasn't getting tired of it.

I think the reason he keeps saying that FP2 is the end is to make it clear to Nintendo that he doesn't want to develop a 3rd fighter pass. He's been working on Ultimate for a long time and wants to be done with it.

Sakurai's kept the same story since before March of this year that 'this is the end of the DLC', and has literally not stopped saying that, whether in written stuff like his column, in Directs, and in interviews.

You are making assumptions it was Sakurai's idea. It was probably Shuntaro Furukawa's idea. or it could have even been all the negotiating with the other companies outsidfe of Fighters Pass 2.

That quote is timestamped half a year before we even saw Lucas. Its highly likely Sakurai was being 100% honest when he says no more DLC was being worked on. Yeah, he never said nothing was planned or being talked about. He said nothing was being worked on. Given how it took half a year to get a Semiclone who was already developed in the previous game, I’m inclined to believe him.

Cacomallow would literally require there to be more fighters after CP11. Squenix costumes can only come with Squenix fighters and vice versa.

Well, one thing to note that, so far, aside from Megaman, since it has soo many different franchises, anytime there's a 'series', we get all the Mii costumes related to said series at once.


I don't think we'd get Geno, and then Mallow later if it were real, literally no reason to separate them.
