Would he be a driver or like Tron Bonne from MvC which I won't elaborate on cos spoilers? Probably the latter now that I think about it cos Rex couldn't work. Not that a nopon is really detailed as a nopon with every single piece of fur textured wouldn't be the first thing on my list of stuff to see in smash...
I believe Chairman Bana isn't a driver so they'd have to do something else with him.

The Bana that I was referring to though is from the first game, and fights you in a flying lizard, so he'd be a lot like Tron in that aspect.

As far as Chairman Bana being highly detailed...he does wear a lot of jewelry and stuff, so that might add quite a bit to the polygon count. The fur wouldn't be a problem though, as it's almost exclusively represented with textures in the Super Smash Bros. series.

EDIT: On the subject of fur, I think it could be neat if Donkey Kong's arms were fluffy like they are in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze since they could strengthen the impact of his punch animations with uh...secondary action, was it?. Giant Punch in particular could look really cool since you could see the impact travel through his arm.

So...One thing I've noticed about Guilty Gear is that a lot of attacks that use weapons are still not really all that disjointed. Disjoints do exist (probably a lot more than I'm aware), but a lot of characters can be hit in the weapon, which doesn't happen in Super Smash Bros.
The Fire Emblem Cast says hi.

Not sure what you mean.

In Smash Bros, all attacks that use weapons are disjointed and can't damage the wielder if they're hit and in Fire Emblem... well that's a turn-based tactical RPG. Heck some moves that aren't disjointed have invincibility for NO REASON.

looking at you Mario.

So here's a subject that I don't see explored very often. Are there any modest QoL improvements you'd like to see in SSBU before the DLC wraps up? I can think of a handful off the top of my head:
  • The ability to save more spirit teams and custom stages.
  • The ability to adjust spirit teams in smash mode without needing to go all the way back to the spirits menu.
  • The ability to have a spirit swap styles without needing to revisit a dojo.
  • The ability to spend SP to immediately have a spirit recover from exhaustion.
  • Some way to convert SP to gold or classic tickets (If only so that resource can still be put to meaningful use once you've collected and maxed every spirit).
  • An icon over each spirit in spirit rematch you've won with the highest possible score.
  • The ability to make the different surfaces different colors in stage builder.

The ability to drop from a platform easily.

Seems like it'd be easy as changing a slider to how it was in the old games, but who knows I'm not a game dev. Maybe sticky ledges is part of Ultimate gameplay.

Yeah that's what I meant.

the semi-permeable platforms on Battlefield and the like.
Oh OK. Yeah it doesn't happen often for me, but I have noticed that sometimes the character doesn't drop down from one when I expect it to. I'm not sure why that happens. Perhaps they raised the input threshold to help players do down tilts on them? Regardless, I don't see why why they shouldn't a toggle as to how easy you want dropping down to be. I'm in.

Spirit leaderboard. Could rank several things, most preferably the rematch high scores and the number of spirits someone has.

Would be quite hype ngl. I’ll also give Extra credit for making it feel like a Nintendo lineup by actually spreading them in an order that doesn’t have too many 3rd parties next to each other and keeps each genre separate so they don’t ruin the pass by having too many of the same genre next to each other

I’ll usually see so many make their own passes and they’d put like 5/6 fan favourites and there would be like 3 platformers back to back and then like 2 rpg reps.

Idk if it counts but I’ll never not harp on it

the ability to use the Possession/Clone effects of both Galeem and Dharkon alignments outside of WoL. Literally wanted it ever since Hero’s trailer

please I need this so I won’t need to boot up WoL countless times for staging certain snapshots

And now I have the mental image of Sakurai going "Terry is my husbando". lol
And it doesnt matter if someone isnt into boys. Terry´s got them covered.

Remember that time Sakurai said that his pictures don’t hint at characters?

Pepperidge Farm Remembers.
Blocked Content does not.
Blocked Content is wrong. Sakurai is obviously teasing that we are getting Terminator into smash. :4pacman:

I just want a boss rush mode and a better All star smash.

2P WoL and/or Very Hard WoL would be nice too

and maybe the ability to rewind replays for editing cuz I’ve been doing some video editing projects and you have NO IDEA how frustrating it is to have to start the editing over cuz you made a mistake in the editing process

And I forgot to mention you can use them on ANYONE. even Kirby and the DLC. and even use an opposite alignment as the canon one - I.e. Cloud is canonically under Dharkon’s control but you can give him the Galeem aura if you wish. That kinda thing

In the music department alone:
  • Restore the tracks that Smash 4 butchered (DK Rap, Pollyanna, Engage the Enemy, etc.).
  • Add an option to change the Quickplay waiting room music.
  • Undo whatever update caused music to automatically play upon selection on the stage select screen.
  • Grant Boxing Ring the same privilege as Summit and Duck Hunt and allow it to use music from Other. Ultimate's decision to restrict a stage's music to that of the stage's series if the series had a playable rep and at least two games caused Boxing Ring to go from an already slim selection of eight songs to five, even losing the song dedicated to Little Mac himself.

Oh yes

and give us the full version to Live and Learn already

and fix the loudness on the first two XC2 songs pre-Pythra

I’d suggest more songs but that’s a content addition and not QoL soooooooo
I want them to add in the actually good version of Counterattack. That counts as quality of life right?

Spirit leaderboard. Could rank several things, most preferably the rematch high scores and the number of spirits someone has.
You are aware that high scores in spirit rematch have a hard cap of the spirit's power rating * 100, and that it's calculated based on your setup (or lackthereof) and nothing else, yes? There are some who have max scored every single spirit fight, so this wouldn't really work. And there's a cap on how many spirits you can hold, though I'm not sure of the exact number.

The whole point of leaderboards is that one guy is at the top. There isn't any way to logically make what you're proposing work.
Where is all this Geno talk coming from? I thought we all moved on
One MrJudd says he thinks he knows who the final character is via looking at Second Chance theory, which he calls "spackle theory", and process of elimination. He mentioned may people may be upset from this character getting in while another more popular character from the company/series (he didn't say which) is just a Mii costume. He mentioned, to paraphrase, that 'maybe he should just say Geno would still be the final character' as a way to end the conversion and inquiries because he felt saying the actual character out loud would upset the community. Some users went and ran away with it anyway because they fail at reading comprehension.

I mean, that's what he actually said. He even said "my prediction is Geno".

Regardless, I don't really think anyone cares. He's free to believe whatever he wants, anyone who pushes him or bullies him is a jerk.

The Xenoblade Chronicles remixes are depressing. The series has some of the best sountracks in video games, and for remixes in Super Smash Bros., it gets:
  • An awful mashup of Xenoblade Chronicles's music.
  • A mashup of Xenoblade Chronicles 2's music that is actually pretty good if you like mashups.
  • A decent remix of Tiger! Tiger! that unfortunately has some odd (and probably unintentional) high frequencies in it that are grating on the ears.
  • A remix of Counterattack that doesn't do anything new with the piece, makes what's already there nowhere near as impactful, and loops way too quickly.
    • EDIT: By looping too quickly, I mean it cuts out the best part of the song, causing the entire thing to become super repetitive.

This in hindsight makes me somewhat relieved X music wasn’t included with Pythra

If even one song got butchered I’d cry

no “remixes”. Only pure, undiluted Sawano epicness

Might want to read through that one again before accusing people of poor reading comprehension. He didn't want to say the name because talking about Geno often opens a can of worms, but Geno was his prediction for FP11. He then defended that prediction by explaining why he didn't think Mii costumes deconfirmed, and later (sort of) elaborated on his process of elimination.

Yeah, would be cool to see who's at the top regardless. I doubt that many people have maxed out the high score yet anyway.

Yeah, I'd imagine in the alternate universe with Xenoblade Chronicles X music in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, all of the vocal tracks would be instrumental, which would make things 10x more depressing.

I mean to be fair, Uncontrollable Instrumental slaps

and a clean Black Tar Instrumental would be sick

but if they alter the pacing or worse - “remix” it with unfitting instruments… yeah

idk why wouldn’t the vocal tracks be included though - Persona had vocal tracks

flip side - Snake Eater has no vocals

All the tracks wouldn't even be there as they're owned by Mr. Sawano lol.

Whether a Mii outfit deconfirms really depends, I think. Mainly on how much time we're covering. Rex was costumed extremely early on, yet was also very much considered after the fact, only decided against due to technical issues.
Any characters that got costumed in pass 2 definitely rule out those specific characters, but characters that got the treatment well before pass 2 was fully planned - I'd not be as quick to rule them out. Though of course, possible does not mean likely, especially with only one character left.

I'd be disappointed. Some of the characters are good, but most are bad. Also FP1 and FP2 were hardly changed other than a few characters, if you made more changes then maybe I'd be fine with it. On the other hand, you made too many base game changes, which I think has better characters than the DLC does.

I mean the only differences are Crash, Bandana Dee, Sora, Alph and Shadow are there, and Byleth and PP aren't. Most of the characters are the ones we actually got. All of the base game newcomers are still there.
