Incineroar is yellow for some reason (his eyes?), Ken is silver / white as an inverse of Ryu's red background. Samus uses a dark blue likely to reference the depths of space. As always this lead only gets us so far since it can be stretched however which way you'd like.

To add onto this, Roy's background is green, despite there being nothing on his design that's even close to green (the only thing I see being close is part of the handle of his sword).

Rayman would also be okay. I just don't really care about Rayman that much. The first two Rabbids games (before the rabbids took over his entire franchise) were cool though.

To me this color blue aligns much closer with Terry's background than his jeans, and seeing how fellow FF7 alum Cloud uses a similar teal color the thought isn't unfounded. But no use splitting hairs on it anyway, it's not like we have confirmation one way or the other.

My point was moreso that colors can be abstracted from something as basic as a character's basic color scheme, as not to get hung up on like five purple characters and shut everyone else out.

I'm betting on Rayman since he was the only spirit from his series in Ultimate, aside from the Rabbids in Mario + Rabbids. Plus he, Globox, and Barbera we're trophies in 4 modeled by Ubisoft themselves.

I was joking about his eyes, I'm pretty sure Sephiroth's comes from this.

But this is grasping at straws when you have to choose between eyes you can't even ****ing see in his render or a logo that isn't present in the game. I feel like some characters are just outliers when it comes to theming and we just have to accept that.

Plus Rayman fits well into Second Chance/Fix Theory given the pattern of this pass so far.

Maybe his reveal trailer will also involve him breaking out of that ice of what supposedly looks like him frozen in the battlefield background?

A shame my of my favorite purple characters are either arlready in smash or they are out of the race like Shantae.

I dont think it will happen. At least until purple itself is considered as the last fighter.

Probably, but I don't think it's a coincidence that Cloud and Sephiroth both use some variation of that color.

That's a very Waluigi-lookin brand of purple.

I imagine it now. Nintendo heard the anger of Waluigi not being playable in Smash, not so dissimilar from his strange absence from Mario Kart 7. Nintendo's calling the shots on DLC and says, "Surely you can make Waluigi playable?" whilst peering over their glasses at Sakurai.

Maybe, maybe not. I mean, would Nintendo (or the NZ website or wherever this was found) even do something now that this news is spreading? I think not tbh, I feel like it'll still be a mystery until the reveal date, but it's fun to at least entertain the idea. Purple is my favorite color, so I think it's a cool choice.
