I mean...If we wanted to represent the Waddle Dees as a species, Bandana Waddle Dee could do that too. Might as well go with the actual character.
And whenever Poochy’s not on screen, all the other characters could be saying “Where’s Poochy?”
You do know what XC2's sales are, right? It would be just like following Minecraft and Sephiroth with a game that only sold somewhere under 2 million.

Difference being though that pyra and myphra are the 3rd character in the pass and was dropped in a Nintendo direct. This last character will probably be in a stand alone presentation or even saved for the final spot of a Nintendo direct where there’s more pressure on the character announcement.
Why do you have characters that are crossed out?
Meaning varies slightly depending on the character, but usually it means something along the lines of "hehe it'd be funny but...don't."
The last character revealed like this was Byleth.
idk, anytime we try to see a pattern in stuff like that they throw a curveball that breaks the pattern (for example, the first fighter pass had 4 third party characters, and then had Byleth)
I mean...that's how we got Byleth, and I don't think he's usually considered as a big or crowd pleaser pick.
I also don't expect a Sakurai Presents reveal for CP11 unless the character will be announced in either October or November.
If they wanted to, they could pull a "The final fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is...
Not including any Punch-Out characters is sin
I mean, we already have Little Mac, but good*. I don't really see what else PUNCH-OUT!! has to offer.
I don't think that's gonna happen unless we're getting another guessing game like they did with Min Min.
Punch-Out!! has like, over a dozen additional boxers to choose from, all brimming with personality. It's not a Duck Hunt situation where your only other option is The Tree on the Left. Saying it doesn't offer anything else is needlessly reductive.
Yeah it's kind of a downer when you think about 1st parties realistically.
1st Parties that would actually have a shot at DLC:
I know it has neat characters, I'm just worried that they'd all be pigeon-holed into having Little Mac's gimmick, which would kinda suck.

Even though byleth and fire emblem in general is not considered a Crowed pleaser the franchise sales are still big with 17 million. It’s enough for everyone to recognise even if the reception is bad.
The Byleth Smashcord is also the second biggest. Probably has to do with FE fans being social media savvy and the character being well liked competitively.
