These are clearly all anniversaries of something important for whatever franchise the last character is from.

2132, 2129, 2119, 2063, and 2007

2132 - 150 = 1982

2129 - 125 = 2004

2119 - 100 = 2019

2063 - 50 = 2013

2007 - 10 = 1997
games that came out in 1997
games that came out in 2004
games that came out in 2013
games that came out in 2019

Few notable games:
1997: Fallout, Original GTA, Doom 64, Goldeneye 007, Croc: Legend of the Gobbos ( :slime: ), and Gran Turismo
2004: GTA San Andreas, Half-Life 2, WoW, Halo 2, Doom 3, Far Cry 1,
2013: GTA V, Last of Us Part I, Tomb Raider (Modern), Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Dota 2, and Assassin's Creed IV
2019: RE2 Remake, Control, Luigi's Mansion 3, Untitled Goose Game (:4pacman:), and DmC 5

Seeing quite a bit of GTA and Doom 0_0

This is a Croc discussion now.

Apparently, he's owned by the guy who originally made the games? After Argonaut went under...

Also 1982,
Well... there’s Ms. Pac Man, and Pitfall Harry.
Also E.T. but A. Not a game character and B. Famous for a very different reason.

1997? Heh, that's the year I was born, I hope my favourite game from that year gets some content in the pass even if it's just a Mii Costume, my favourite game from then being FFVII

Fair.
As someone who has never touched a RE game, I don't even know, or didn't know, that Wesker is a Bioweapon of some kind lol

Going back to what you said, regarding the protagonists, there's ofc good ol' Leon. Jill would be neat if they want more female characters.
I just did some research; UNLESS I'm mistaken, Leon was a protagonist in RE2 and 4, both of which seem to be regarded as some of the bests games in the series. Jill's the protagonist of the OG RE, alongside Chris, but also appeared in WAY more titles than Leon did.

Hmm.
Guess Jill would be a better choice, I suppose? She HAS been in Street Fighter and MvC, so Smash wouldn't be her debut in a fighting game. Leon's never been in a fighting game it seems.
Not really.
If we talk about mainline appearances Jill and Leon are tied. Jill has appeared in RE1, RE3 and RE5, but in 5 she's not playable in the main story, only on the DLC episodes and extra modes.
Leon has appeared in RE2, RE4 and RE6, always as a playable character.

And including spin offs and other games it would still be balanced. Of course, I'm not including crossover roles like Marvel vs Capcom.

Leom has never been in MvC but I don't think that's a problem. If anything for some people that would be a point in his favor. I still remember people saying we couldn't get Terry because he was already in Fighting EX Layer lol

Anyway, the thing is that RE protagonists can do the same thing. I mean, each one has a few characteristic things, like Leon using kicks when it comes to physical combat, or Chris being more of punches. But I'm pretty sure that as it has happened so far with third party characters, Sakurai would try to translate RE's classic gameplay or feeling in some way, and that's something any main character in the series would be able to do.

Is the Nintendo Switch OLED something advanced? What is different? I do not think a new console.

The OLED has a better refresh rate supposedly, also better sound in handheld mode. And the dock has a Ethernet port so no need to buy the Ethernet USB adapter

I’m board so tinfoil hat theory. In this pass we’ve had 2 characters made in the 1900-1999, 2 characters made in the 2010-2020 and 1 character made in the 2000-2009. Last character will be in the 2000-2009 so that we have 2 characters from each decade

Who's from the 2000's? Steve? Smash/Sakurai treats him as a 2010's character...
We haven't gotten any proper newcomers from that decade at all this game besides and echo and an alt, which is, kinda sad...:ultdarksamus::ulthero2:

Fantastic theory! Sgt. Cortez wins again! He has travelled back in time to the 1800's so he'd be our first 1900's rep!

Time to Split!

I'm ready to go compressed.gif

Yeah Steve is the 2000’s rep. I know smash treats minecraft as a 2011 rep but Steve made his first appearance in 2009 so he counts as a 2000’s rep.

I don't see Nintendo's next console until Holiday 2024 at the earliest. Maybe even Holiday 2025.

So apparently, the number for the Kazuya tournament is 4050, not 4029 like I was guessing it was. That, and there's also the two missing spirit events 1019 and 1035, and the missing news updates 2132, 2129, 2119, 2063, and 2007
Honestly, depending on how frequently we get tourneys and what number tourneys we get, this might help us guess when we get CP 11. Perhaps CP 11 and Kazuya swapped places during development for some reason.

Like if we get tourneys frequently that are past 4029, we could see the character turn up in December at that rate.

I've always found the whole "they're already in PSASBR" argument silly mainly because nobody cares about Playstation All-Stars.
You don't really see people popping off over PSAS announcements. Granted, there haven't been any in eight years; not even Sony cares.

It’s gonna have to be some heck of a character if they’re gonna make us wait till December which is 6 months away. Only thing I could see that would be worth waiting 6 months would be an assist trophy upgrade.

The only reason I say that is because everyone thinks assist trophies deconfirm so everyone going into an AT upgrade trailer would be absolutely shocked and wouldn’t expect it whereas if we just get a reveal from a spirit character or non spirit character everyone’s just gonna be kinda “mehh” and be like “why have we been made to wait this long”

Don’t think we’ll be waiting 6 months

Kazuya feels extremely "final DLC" to the point that I think this is very plausible. But such a schedule shift would have had to have happened pretty early on, no...? I can't imagine it being late enough of a sudden change to seriously screw up scheduling of tourneys and such. We could very well be reading too far into these IDs, for all we know they could have been sorted that way as a just-in-case scenario before they decided that FP2 was it.

So, is there any reason why we haven't gotten any new spirits until between Pythra and Kazuya's releases? How hard can it be to add a few PNGs and program a few spirit battles? I'm especially getting tired of ****ty generic Spirit Events that don't give new spirits.
Slight correction; between Pythra and Kazuya, we got
  • Sophia and Arthur, which were obtained by having save data for Persona 5 Strikers and GnG Resurrection, respectively
  • A Spirit Event for MH Rise
  • A Spirit Event for Bowser's Fury
But yeah, we could definitely use more Spirit Events with new Spirits. Maybe COVID's part of the reason the distribution of new Spirits (outside of DLC Spirit Boards) slowed down dramatically.

Now that I think about it, thete's a chance that as the game's almost done, they got rid of some staff and decided to stop adding new spirits. Shame if that's the case, I like Spirits outside of knowing who it won't be

Another reason that'd be a shame is because new spirits could keep the wait between DLCs more bearable.
