In Super Smash Bros. 6 we can see a Pokémon from the 8th or 9th generation as a newcomer.
Since Smash 6 would be about 5 years in the future, Gen 8's time will have past long ago by then; that'd mean that either a 9th or 10th Gen Pokemon would enter the roster.

Let's assume for the sake of argument that our final character for Smash Ultimate is a 3rd party pick. Who would you think are the most likely candidates? I'm personally leaning towards Phoenix Wright and to a lesser extent Master Chief

Still think an Undertale rep is most likely.

I have no clue but I’m guessing it is someone who isn’t commonly speculated.

Leaning towards Shovel Knight, honestly. Not much more than a gut feeling, but it feels like every fighter breaks a pattern or expectation, even if a lot of people predicted them anyways. Heck, Kazuya busted my expectations over similar themes not being repeated so close to each other - We got a second villain, only two packs after the last. I've just been primed to expect a pattern to give, and Shovel Knight breaks two: Indies and ATs. Again, mostly just a gut feeling, but honestly I don't trust my ability to make accurate predictions anyways so might as well throw darts and hope for the best :drshrug:

Cortez, Sora, Phoenix Wright, Axel Stone, Ryu Hayabusa, Sol Badguy and maybe Demi-Fiend. Doesn't matter since we're all going to be wrong.

Is it weird that I never expected the 3D Mario games to be released on the same card with touch ups and non-forced motion control (most of the time) for Galaxy, let alone for $60? Compared to last Nintendo products like this, I thought it was a good deal for what it was and am still baffled at the amount of hate it gets, yet Skyward Sword hasn’t received half of it?
Putting away the ****ty limited time availability, it's also a pretty mediocre compilation. Unlike the N.Sane Trilogy, or even the Original All Stars, none of the games were significantly touched up. It's also only three games, they really should've added at least one of Galaxy 2, 64DS, and 3D Land. The Rare Replay collection had 30 games, and while not all of the games in that compilation are 10/10, it's way more value for the price. On that topic - both Crash and Rare Replay weren't $60 at launch, but 3DAS was.

And the worst part? I knew it's a ****ty deal, but I bought it anyways. Day 1.

Capcom rep, sega or Konami would probably be the favourites. Couldn’t possibly tell you which Konami rep or capcom rep would be in as I don’t really play their games however I do think sega would push for a sonic rep.

I kinda think we could potentially get our first and only assist upgrade here if I’m honest. We’re living in a world where 5 out of the 6 characters in the pass soo far have broken fan rules and sakurai kinda brushed off the spring man Assist trophy situation as if AT’s didn’t deconfirm which I thought was unusual as I thought he’d at least mention it

Master Chief, Sora, Eggman, or Crash.

It'd be kinda neat if the final character's from a company that has 0 representation in Smash.
Not even spirits, just nothing.
Until Cp11

Though no Japanese company fits this bill imo other than Falcom.

Level 5 literally have nothing in the game. Before anyone says “there western studios shut down” they’re still relevant in Japan

At this point I would say Arle ou Cadence. I predicted Arle since the begining of pass 1 and she still feel likely to me, especially with Sega having nothing in pass 2 (and I think Puyo puyo is more likely than SMT). Cadence is my darkhorse prediction, as I think that the timing with the release of Cadence of Hyrule was perfect for Nintendo to negotiate with the developpers for Smash. If they trust the small team of Crypt of Necrodancer in such high regard that they let them develop a crossover with Zelda, I'm sure they would let them have the final slot in Smash. She could also end the pass on a indie character, something that is highly request since Smash 4.

How about western companies?
Oh I think there's a bunch of them LMAO

Western companies with 0 content that I can think of include but are not limited to:

Activision
Toys for Bob
Blizzard
Epic Games
Rockstar
EA (I say EA because in the case of Dr. Wright, despite being from the SimCity series, the character itself is owned by Nintendo.)
2K
Valve
BioWare
NaughtDoy
Insomiac
NetherRealm
Warner Bros.
Rovio
Sony

Yeah I don't get why Level 5 having financial issues makes their stuff inherantly less likely. I suppose they could want more money than normal because of it, but they could also be more eager to agree to terms. It's not really evidence of anything on its own.
I don't know about it being more expensive to get licensing; on the other hand, it might be more expensive for Nintendo to buy ownership of Level 5.

Only reason why people are saying SMTV protag is because his game comes out soon
The problem is SMT5 was announced after FP2's characters were finalized, and it's not likely that Atlus shared info with Ninty just to get the Nabohino into Smash.

Frickin' Dragon Quest 8, people(and 9 if counting FS cameos). That was made by Level 5. :ulthero2:
It's still a Square enix ip, I doubt they have the rights on those characters even if they develop their games. Like I wouldn't call the spirits from Zelda oracle of ages/seasons and Minish cap spirits and music Capcom representation, it's still a Nintendo ip.

It's weird
Thing is, regarding :ulthero2:, Level 5's company name isn't shown on the copyright name blocks at the end of Smash trailers and Sakurai Presents videos. Only reason I think this is the way it is still because :ulthero2: is owned AND PUBLISHED by Square Enix.

Level 5 still made Dragon Quest 8. Yes, Dragon Quest belongs to Square, but that doesn't null the fact that Level 5 made Dragon Quest 8. Much like how there is content from Castlevania Lords of Shadow and Metroid Samus Returns in Smash, but Mercury Steam is not credited.

Not expecting it but I wouldn't be surprised if Capcom was the last slot. I know many have dismissed them after the deconfirmation of RE, Devil May Cry, and MH with the mindset of "if not them then no one". I still don't think RE is fully deconfirmed but thats another topic. Capcom has supported the game a lot post launch with RE, MH Rise spirit events, MH Stories 2 spirit, new mii costumes like Arthur, Felyne, and Dante. The only other company that I can recall that supported the game to that degree post launch was Square and they ended up getting two DLC characters. Microsoft/Bethesda and Ubisoft have also supported the game a bit

Speaking of copyright companies...
When Banjo was revealed, only Microsoft

For sure.
I just think it's interesting concerning the copyright names and whatnot.
But yea, :ulthero2: do be our technical Level 5 rep.
