I think Sakurai needs to retire and leave the office with a new director to be in charge for the series at some point. I would rather see a new Smash Bros. title To be developed without him and that somehow it would actually be better without him. Everything else I’ve seen in the game’s DLC is just mediocre that Nintendo decided it is meant for promotion of new titles to make money out of them.

There's a possibility the new director might make Smash worse overall quality wise or they will keep promoting new titles.

Yeah shooters have way more appeal in Japan than people like to think.
Apex is popular over there, Korone alone helped Doom, CoD is mad popular, a gacha game got a rainbow six crossover
Botan is a really popular VTuber and she is super into shooters and gets to be part of official events and the like

They're not a solely western appealing genre

Why two weeks? If timing is the issue for dubbing doesn’t this mean Sakurais E3 tease was recorded more than two weeks in advance? Thus pushing the recording of the presentation back?

Sakurai says hes about to record the Presentation after his tease. Therefore the presentation actually had more time to be dubbed.

Banjo was more of a worldwide appeal character. B&K actually sold better in Japan then the entirety of Xenoblade, from what I've heard.

So entire Xenoblade sold fewer than 400k there? Let's get real. 290k difference there is puny compared to massive difference between Banjo and Halo world wide. Halo 3 sold far more than all Banjo combined.

It's weird how some people think that a Smash without Sakurai will magically grant them any character they want when he makes an obvious effort to balance old fans' favorites with new hits to make sure the roster appeals to everyone except the most insatiable complainers.

I don't think that's happening unless Nintendo decides to do their fall direct in October for some reason.

In fairness it's entirely possible we get a scenario where the September Direct happens in late September, and instead of a reveal, they announce an early October date for the Final Smash Ultimate Presentation.

Kinda like the ARMS tease but just announcing a presentation exists.

So, I'm watching Leffen's reaction, and he called Kazuya "better Little Mac", which is an...interesting observation but at the same time:

• Armoured Smash Attacks
• Good ground normals
• A comeback mechanic with a "gotchya" move as the main attraction
• Garbage initial jump
• Probably pretty "meh" recovery
• Probably mediocre aerial attacks

The assessment might actually be accurate. lol
