We’ve officially hit that slow before the E3 storm huh?

Here’s a thought process. If at the end of FP2 they said there was going to be a “Stage Pass” that filled out the remaining slots on the Stage Select Screen that costs $5 for 3 past stages. What stages are y’all bringing back?

Here’s a list in case you forgot what stages didn’t make it back.

For me:
  1. PAC-MAZE
  2. Jungle Hinjinx
  3. Orbital Gate Assault
Edit: forgot about OGA
Pac-Maze
Rainbow Road
Orbital Gate Assault

(Honorable mention to Rumble Falls, which I'm actually really nostalgic for.)

I have a question for you all; what are some ideas for character gimmicks that you would like to see?

Mechanically what is it that gets you excited?

Putting aside the actual characters we want, what appeals to you as a hypothetical mechanic?

Even though the Mario character conversation is done I think King boo is one of the next mario in line for a spot on the roster

He's the main antagonist in the biggest of the mario subseries's and also a recurring villain in the mainline games too.
on top of that he has a ton of move set potential compared to most other Mario characters. and LM3 is the biggest game in the series, I think it's either at 9 or 10mil right now so he is a pretty recently relevant character. though i think he is more next game potential then DLC.
I still say King Boo is a super slept-on character in speculation

The biggest ones I can think of are air dashes and installs, air dashes are fun and I'd like to see how Smash handles this alien element and installs are just objectively the sickest ****. I also think meter management is fun and that a character who can save up meter for a big hit or use up a bit for an EX mode or something would be fun as Smash' meters haven't quite reached the traditional mechanic yet for a variety of reasons

Smash Bros mod with extra characters? I'm intrigued... not least because I'm interested in the idea of trying to make a character mod of my own (just incase reality decides to be more unreasonable than my splendid theories of who should get in)
What mod?
PMEX Remix, a brawl mod pack. There are other brawl mods with bigger rosters, but most of the charaters in PMEX feel like they're well made enough to be in an official Smash. And the roster's hardly small, there's almost 100 characters

there's also a bunch of new stages and music, a lot of veterans have changes, it's pretty good.

I'll take three.

Look at all these characters that could potentially come with Euden if he came to Smash, be it as Spirits or stage cameos!

Yeah, I know I'm not good at starting discussions...
If they ever do a stage for this game, I'd like for them to have some fan favorites like Lily or Jeanne in there alongside the main cast and Greatwyrms. Those two in particular are so popular I'd be surprised if they didn't make an appearance.

Air dashes, meter management AND an install mechanic? Found our second Persona rep:

Installs sound like Monado Arts but with fewer steps.

Although honestly sounds like you would enjoy my concept for a Digimon. Multiple forms that they choose at any time (all basically buffed Monado Arts with a size increase and a reskin) - representing the RPG side of the series. But with all that power offset by a gauge which drains while you're evolved, and which will force you back to a weaker form than you started with if you allow your Digimon to become completely drained - representing the V-Pet side of the series.

Also sounds like I might get a kick out of some of your picks.

Installs are a temporary buff that require something to activate, usually being meter. The namesake, Sol Badguy's Dragon Install also has the downside to having heavy endlag when it ends and only being able to be used once per match, Monado Arts are closer to a stance change as they affect specific stats rather than buffing everything and only. As for Digimon, it feels like Pokemon switching or building up to a more permanent buff fits better than using an install

I mean we already have Installs in Smash though

Cloud, Joker, Wii Fit Trainer, Steve, Min Min, and Sephiroth have Installs. they are Temporary buffs that require steps to Activate. Cloud and Joker have to charge some sort of Meter, Wii Fit has to time Deep breathing, Steve has to mine, Min Min has to throw someone, and Sephiroth needs to get hit to get it

Lucario and Incineroar also kind of have installs also. Though with Lucario, it is kind of weird though

I would like to see more takes on Installs though. In Particular, I would like to see one where You gain the transformation by doing good (Devil Trigger), or a Potentially Permenant install you activate at anytime, that works kind of like Kaioken (I know a characer that could have something like this, but I don't think you guys want to hear it

I see "you get buff for playing perfectly" mechanic thrown around a lot but I have a hard time seeing Smash actually implementing it.

Smash is a casual-friendly game by design and locking a character's most exciting stuff under a skill lock and increasing the skill gap mid-match seem counter productive to that.

It's not out of the question, I just don't feel like it's something Sakurai would go for.

IT IS FINALLY DONE. HUZZAH.

I made a graphic showing all the color predictions thus far for Fighter 10, 11 and a potential bonus one (if that ever happens of course.)

I also threw in a bonus... predicting how many letters/spaces the next fighter might have as well!

Because of how less reliable the model gets when you predict farther stuff, I'll try to update this graphic when Fighter 10 is revealed (well, provided a double reveal doesn't happen.)

Edit: Can someone please post? I wanna say something else but don't want a double posting infraction.

For those who don't see the bigger picture, here is the special illustration for the game 1st anniversary of all characters that made their debut during that year, though it doesn't include the first Fire Emblem cast: Alfonse, Veronica, Fjorm, and Marth.

This illustration was made available as a special wallpaper to download in 1980x1080 size, link.

Too bad, they didn't update the illustration for the 2nd anniversary, oh well, still looking forward to the overall final picture that include everyone in the game, especially if it include the first (Fire Emblem) or third party (Mega Man, Monster Hunter, and Persona 5) characters.

Anyway, to add to this with a little more in-depth thought:

If this DOES pan out exactly as predicted, at least for 10 and 11, I think 11 is undoubtably Master Chief OR Doomguy, that shade of green is such a basic "Power Armor Green" color it's not funny. It's not 100% a match to either, but my first thing to come to mind was "Oh, that's a power armor green" color.

As for the Pink.... honest to god, I don't have a ****ing clue.

There's no 3rd party candidates that scream a heavy association with the color pink to me, which almost makes me wonder if it'd be first party. If that's the case, Octolings and Bandana Dee both come to mind, both having associations with Pink. Dixie too.

That shade of red is... kinda Lloyd like.

Just saying, my man.

It could fit.

It looks more like a salmon-y pink on my end. If it were more red, I'd agree, but it's way more pink than red.

I was trying to think if pink would fit the Tales of usual cast(Lloyd, Yuri, what's her name), but... pink really doesn't fit any of them, imo at least.

I'm wondering if these calculations take into account that all colours are not equally occurring and that pink is a very uncommon character background hue. I think only three or four of the eighty-something characters currently use it. It's certainly no blue or green.

Nah, it doesn't take into account hose kinds of things sadly. The calculations are very barebones.

Ever since Martin first posted the pink color, I've been trying to think of just what characters Pink could even work for, since honestly, Pink is such an uncommon color in general for video game characters, for the most part.

Like, we have most of the pink characters I can think of off the top of my head, and the ones left are:

Dixie
Octolings
..... and that's it really, and both those characters have a much darker shade of pink.

Then you start getting into more theoretical territory like, Bandana Dee due to its association with the Kirby franchise, which, honestly is a huge leap of logic when every character features their color somewhere on them to a degree.

Here's where those two previous red herrings are cast off and the next character is Bomberman. :teeth:

More seriously, I appreciate the effort martin goes to, creating this info, but I don't think the next character is going to correspond to the hypothesized result. Even with a more common colour it'd be a stretch, but it probably yielded pink in part due to how uncommon pink is; we're overdue for a reason.

Gotcha

We already got green though. Yeah they could go with a different hue but I’d think they’d just choose a different color for marketing purposes. Like orange for Chief or brown for Doomguy. Also red is more likely than pink imo, but hey this is all nonsense anyway since whatever character they pick they’ll shoehorn a color in for regardless :4pacman:

I'd more consider red or orange for Doomguy, not brown.

But Chief would 100% be green. I can't imagine MC, if he were to get in, have a color other than green. Both he's green and the XBox's main color is Green, emphasizing the orange would be weird.

Question then becomes why is Chief the only one where the background color isn't on him in some capacity.

The background colors all are on the character to some degree, with slight alterations to shade, I don't see Blue on Chief anywhere.

Sephiroth looks very grey to me, which, grey's on him in droves. It looks green when you're on the page above, but when you go to his character page itself, to me at least, that looks undoubtedly gray.
