I thin RE4 Leon is more iconic and loved and I think capcom knows that too at this point. I really hope they don't mess up RE4 remake

I just finished the first vol.2 AI Dungeon set. It's... definitely the worst of them. I think it was confused by the concept, a google doc is not an intuitive character.

Hot take: With how badly BN has ruined DBFZ with their DLC picks, they don't deserve to get more Smash representation.

Maybe, though I could also see his original Resident Evil 2 look being used since that was also on the Nintendo 64 and honestly quite an amazing port when you consider all that it accomplished..so I could see RE4 as default and RE2 as alternate.

Eevee gets 8 special moves, and each of these special moves is also a meter that goes up if used (or with a secret ninth special move). If the meter fills, Eevee evolves into the proper Eeveelution, who gets it's own moveset. This is like 9 movesets in 1.

Hey, I gotta give 'em credit. If this **** was real it'd be one of the coolest Smash movesets ever, even if it'd be a headache and a half to keep track of in a match.

I've seen enough people wanting Leon but they both have different versions of the character so im going to ask

if we were to get leon which would it be RE4 Leon or RE2 Leon

i believe if w were to get him it would be RE4 Leon. it's the game that truly solidified the legendary status of the franchise on top of usually being considered the best RE if not one of the best Games ever.

it also helps that it was Nintendo's Resident Evil so to speak and Nintendo would probably prefer his look from a game with a big history on their systems
instead of the version of the character that has never been on a Nintendo console to my knowledge

RE4 is the more iconic game & it’d be easier to make a Smash moveset out of. Though, I’d want to see how Sakurai would fit classic RE gameplay into Smash... minus the tank controls lol

I’m down for either version though. I’d be so happy to see my boy get in not only Smash but any fighting game. Because he STILL hasn’t been in Marvel vs Capcom yet for some reason.

everyone ragged on brawlfan's steve moveset but that wound up being fairly close to the real thing which tbh surprised me as well
regarding eevee, im of the mind that if we get a pokemon it might be an older pokemon. the SwSh spirit event in my mind kills any potential rep from that game in the DLC but an older pokemon could happen. i don't know who tho but it more than likely will be gen 1.

Fair point, although if they do an evolution gimmick I would only see them sticking to the first three, maybe the Johto Eeveelutions as well for those who want a different rep from that generation.

First one is a town from Tales of Symphonia (at first I only remembered it from Dawn of the New World, since I think that’s Emil’s hometown). Second one looks like Guilty Gear based on the way the background characters are animated. I’m also gonna guess Touhou for the last one.

Eevee has been treated as a Secondary Mascot to Pikachu over the last couple of years so it's definitely a possibility.

Yep, pretty much. The first one is the town Luin from Tales of Symphonia, the second stage is the Mayship from Guilty Gear Xrd and the third one is the Hakurei Shrine where Reimu works at in Touhou. GG, well played!

On the subject of Leon Kennedy, I am 99% sure that if we get him, he will have both his RE4 and RPD outfits. Which one would be the default is another story though. Moveset will likely take influence from a mix of RE2, RE4, and RE2 Remake.

Not to surprised Stevo was harder, Sephy's sword is long but not as long as some meme it to be, and they were able to make MinMin work. While part of me unfortunately feels like the Geno dream is dead not just for Ultimate, but any Smash game in the future, I am still super happy Sephy made it and really excited to see who makes up the last 3 slots.

It's without a doubt Steve was the hardest character to develop in the game given his complex model and moveset.

Agreed. RE4 was Resident Evil's proverbial Ocarina of Time; it fundamentally changed the series and brought it to new heights, but its reputation and fame was already established at that point.

This idea has been hingering me for a while now to discuss.

But to my knowledge these have been the most highly demanded and requested characters who got in due to it. How about we discuss why those characters were wanted?



Wouldandalso fall into this category? Not sure which is why I didn't list them but those above I've heard being among the most requested and added due to said demand.

I know with Banjo it's because of the nostalgia coming from one of the best selling N64 games and demand from fans of the two games who grew up with it and the characters.

Ridley and K. Rool being among Nintendo's most iconic villains.
