oh wow the wizard's voice was annoying in that spotlight o_o and the quality of that video was fuzzy what the heck.

I actually forgot wizards ran on 'arcane power' i thought it was mana.

sooo... witch doctor is the only mana champion?
barb = fury (or rage or whatever)
monk = spirit
wizard = arcane power
demon hunter = hatred/discipline

pretty cool i s'pose.

My only beef with the beta was that the resource system for every class felt unneeded, considering that most of them refilled fast enough to not feel like I needed to make a choice of what to use in combat.

But this is probably just an early level thing, I never went past level 13. Just mah 2 cents.

I hope it takes legitimate skill and isn't just "monsters hit you so hard you die no matter how good your gear is" :p

Basically, it's an unforgiving difficulty level designed for the hardcore. You unlock it after beating the game on Hell and Nightmare difficulties, respectively. Blizzard has come out and said that barring possible exploits discovered by the ingenuity of the masses, they don't see anybody clearing the game on Inferno within a week of launch.

Needless to say, I'm hyped. I can't wait to give it a shot.

I feel like it should take longer than a week to beat even Hell difficulty lol :c though of course I'm sure people will have finished hell in a few days, sigh.

I'm trying to get to Inferno within a few days too. If anyone is seriously going as hard as I plan too, we can play :) or if I just know you. You can message me for my REALID on here or twitter or fb. I plan to solo normal at a fast rate just so I can semi-enjoy the story experience, but after that I'm pretty much rushing through nightmare and hell.

Also, incase you guys dont lurk the blizz forums, RMAH (Real Money Auction House) requires a contract cell phone pretty much, incase you didnt have one and thought you could cash out on the RMAH. You have to be able to get mobile SMS alerts or something to your phone, and most prepaids dont let you get those mobile messages apparently. So fair warning! No one knows why Blizzard wants that kind of authentication to that extreme, but yeah. Not as simple as having a paypal or credit card linked to your account if you thought that was the case!

Guys inferno is going to be ****ing REALLY ****ing HARD.

Check this out: (warning, slight spoilers but not really, its just a normal monster)

This thing goes from hitting for 14 thousand damage in hell(which is scary in it's own right) to 170 thousand damage in inferno. This gonna be hard.

what the hell kind of health points are we looking at here o_O? In diablo 2, you had what, a few thousand HP? Are you supposed to beat it by having a LOT of health and a LOT of armor? ...and lifesteal, if that's even in this game?

Yeah, you have to take into account armor/dodge chance/ aurus/ defensive spells etc.

But still...that damage jump...

Lots of info and stuff in this post.

First of all:

All the class sigils are unlocked for this week only so if you want them go get them if you missed some.
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/5378825/All_Mark_of_Valor_Sigils_Now_Unlocked-5_8_2012#blog

Here are gender comparison videos. They show animation, voices, and other stuff. Very useful for deciding which gender you will be(instead of starting a character and then deciding you hate the VA halfway through the game lol).

Barbarian:
[yt]LMdS8JdsTX4[/yt]

Demon Hunter:
[yt]rihKvheRpDE[/yt]

Monk:
[yt]gIgrCSUGUsQ[/yt]

Witch Doctor:
[yt]9gI6fA6SeNA[/yt]

Wizard:
[yt]tZ6ryOVOnB8[/yt]

Here is the 100% unlock from the launch site, it's a short animated film showing the council of angles pretty much:

this game is gonna be seriously ****ing sick. after playing thru the beta a lot i really got a feel for how the rest of the game is gonna unravel. the gameplay scales up really well once you start getting your first handful of spells. i can't wait to play around with all the good rune options for my class while i'm leveling.

edit: i HOPe i find a really sick+rare item fairly early in the game that i use forever like always happened in d2

Leveling will certainly be a hell of a lot more fun than D2, where you just didn't spend any points lol.

*stares forlornly at crappy laptop*

Even if my FPS was horrible because of the beta, and even if they do add new options like reduce fog/particle effects, I still won't really be able to play well at all. The beta was like, the least graphics intensive part of the game. There will only be more monsters and crap as it goes on.

looks good though

Does anyone know if this will be available at midnight on Tuesday? I'm going to buy this from Wal Mart at midnight is possible and run straight home to play.

Being forced to ask this question just reinforces how stupid Blizzard's form of DRM is. "You gotta wait till we let you play the game you paid for."

Man, Blizzard can eat a ****.

I'm not sure what you mean? Are you going for the disc instead of digital download? I imagine it will be available after 11:59 PM on May 14th...
Either way, I'm pretty sure every game company does the same thing. I already prepurchased and predownloaded the game.

what da ***? all you have to "wait" for is the release date. they even let you play at midnight the night before from digital download! your anger is really confused and misplaced.

Turns out it's available at midnight pacific time. I plan on purchasing the item at midnight from Wal Mart, which is why I wanted to know if I could play it right when I got home.

Not every game company does the same thing; if I somehow acquire a retail game early, I'm not forced to wait until some specific time before they allow me to play, and I don't typically need an internet connection to play.

I don't appreciate the condescension. It's fine if you have no issue with Blizzard's bull ****, but don't judge me as simply uninformed with misplaced anger.

It's also somewhat ironic that you just reinforce my point: they let me play at a certain time, and you act as though this is something to thank them for. "Thanks for letting me use this product I bought from you."

If I have the game before midnight pacific time, then I have to wait until midnight pacific time to use the game I have actually paid for. Bad enough that they require me to have an internet connection to use it, and that I am effectively paying $60 for nothing but an account that they can suspend for basically any reason (thus meaning that I don't actually own what I've paid for). Now I can't even play the damn game until 2:00 AM (I live in a central time zone).

Blizzard is consistently one of the worst companies, period, with regards to treatment of its customers. I'm sure this is, in part, Activision's fault, but I'm really unhappy with the direction they are headed.

So it's worldwide release at midnight PST? I didn't know that.
Either way, who cares? It's a few hours for me, I'll just wait until the following morning or whatever. It's like midnight movie releases, you bought your ticket ahead of time but have to wait until the specific time the theater opens. What's the big deal?

@Hylian: do you still want the "beta ends may 1st" in the title?

It's not a big deal. Just combining this with all the stupid **** Blizzard does, and I get pretty annoyed. Your analogy doesn't quite work, since with a ticket you're paying to watch a movie at a certain time. It's expected that the movie theater is providing a service at a specific time.

Compare this with purchasing a DVD in which you have to wait until a certain time to watch it. That would be absurd. What Blizzard is doing isn't much different.

Of course, this entire complaint would go away if they would just include a single player. It's their server, so they are welcome to open it whenever they want. But when the entire game depends on it, I expect to be able to play it when I ****ing buy it. Not when they decide to let me.

I think "Beta ends May 1st" is a good thing to keep in the title. Keep people thinking that maybe there is a D3 Beta we can play into next year. ;)

Hylian said:
He's not so much complaining about waiting(which is a byfactor of what he's complaining about) but the fact that you basically don't own the game even though you payed for it.
But yeah, Hylian hit the nail on the head: this is just a byproduct of the fact that we don't actually own anything we've paid for. Not with this, not with Starcraft II, and not with Steam. "Ownership" of digital content needs a major overhaul.

Admin powers are broken, Hylian.

I guess it's true that it wouldn't have the problem if it had single player, but it doesn't, and that has been known for maaaaany months so there's no use complaining about it @_@
Just enjoy it when you play it. edit: and be freaking glad that whatever computer you have can actually play it, unlike mine.

Eh, it's an internet forum. Nothing we do here is useful. Complaining is just one of the many useless activities we all engage in.

Mostly, we just need some sort of law that forces content providers to actually provide us the digital content we pay for. If Blizzard decides to ban my account for whatever reason, my Diablo III disc should not turn into an expensive coaster.

For some reason, I'm messing up all of my adverbs and subject-verb agreement today. I should stop writing and go for a smoke.
