Well, not exactly. No one really followed up with my post, so it didn't really get anything accomplished.

So I'm wondering, what was wrong with it? Did something not make sense?

Or was all of my reasoning really bad, making the push baseless?

I guess it's fine. You felt his town read on Riddle was fake, and therefore made Bardull scum. You stated Riddle didn't make any pushes and therefore didn't really have any townieness to go for him.

Although, I think you need to look at Bardull's pushes in that game. You have to find why it would be opportunistic of him to have a town read on Riddle and why it is scum motivation for him to do so, for others to follow up.

There's nothing wrong with it. It's just that joker, sneaky, RR, riddle, and jdietz weren't as active. And I was just trying to find out how I can make a better town play without even being too sincere about it.

If you want to make a better of it, you can just summarize all those quotes in one and say "your posts lack stuff" and just put up a quote you prefer as your example.

Now, if you really want your post to be long and have so much meaning in so many words, to talk to EE. He'll teach you how to do that.

Ok, thanks you two.

Vinyl, I feel if I do that, people are just going to ask me "where are you getting this from?" or they're going to accuse me of cherry picking.

BSP, you need to remember in that game how i substantiated calling vinyl town.
You'll notice no one fought me as much over it
In point of fact, only Bardull ever tried to do anything with it, and the most he could say was that me rolling with vinyl made no sense , when in fact i had substantiated it multiple times. So substantiation = key. And it made perfect sense to anyone but scum , but of course at the time that was ocurring that point would be wifom.

I still lol over the fact that every single scum player that game gave me a town read, exactly as i had planned it out. XD

It does matter though. Just because someone caught scum doesn't mean that they were being logical.

I heard stories of a certain Marvel player (don't know his name/tag) who constantly made bad decisions, but one day one of those bad decisions won him a match. Afterwards, he bragged about how he made the right call to win that match?

Does he have the right to brag though? No. Just because his decision worked out doesn't mean that it was the best decision to make.

I'm going to a friend's apartment now, I plan to read BSP's post later. I reserve all judgment until then.

I tried to use the fact that you willingly jumping along with Vinyl's day 2 "mass claim" and say it was scummy because...well, lo and behold, Vinyl's role did not require us all to out our roles. Basically, I was saying that you should have been more skeptical about Vinyl and asked if claiming our roles was really necessary on D2 for what he was going to do. Yeah, I know you thought he was town, but I tried to paint it as opportunistic scum on your part anyway.

i know you did lol.
Why did you think I suddenly took my vote off riddle and slapped it on you, i basically came to the conclusion that there was no pro-town reason behind me having to constantly re-spell out why vinyl was town , when all it took in Utrik'd for JD was me saying : explain why he is scummy vs hard headed.
There was other stuff like that riddle tonwn clear following JD having riddle as town cleared, as well as you leaping at PJB's case on me. etc

i will admit though, my kantrip indy gut read may have been illogical , but it was mainly rooted in the fact that i saw him doing things which i did as indy, which i knew as a indy player you try to do

Yeah he just got lucky, if he brags about that I'd tell him "Ok do it again and see if you will win ten more times because of that 'tactic' :troll:"

Just read BSP's Riddle/Bardull case thing.

I haven't read the game so I don't have the context, but from what is present in the case and the context I inferred, it looks like excellent analysis to me.

you know you had a great childhood when:

Dad: "What is this fish missing ? "
Brother: "Spice ?"
Me: "Sugar, spice and everything nice, these were the ingredients Professor Utonium used to create the perfect little girls, but he accidentally one more ingredient *deep narrator voice* CHEMICAL X. Thus the powerpuff girls were born :3 "

5. I started thinking about this just a minute ago when I got this text from this girl and it had a smiley face and I'm like dudes never send my smiley faces when they text...not even J. There's only one guy that I know that uses smileys when they text. But I just noticed that a lot of, actually, all of the girls I text send use a smiley almost every message, or at least punctuation. It makes the tone of their text way easier to interpret. The reason why I started thinking about #4 after that is because the same guy was telling me how gay it is to text a friend who is a guy rather than talk to him face-to-face. So I couldn't imagine what he'd think if they used a smiley a long with that.
Apparently I am a girl.

@EE - He's saying that me having Riddle as Town over him is scummy (it really isn't) but he doesn't go into my motives per se as to why I would be doing that or why my read is indicative of scum alignment. I have to disagree with you there EE. If he was postulating that I was scum with Riddle, it's be more legit, but I'd still argue that he tried to label the intent in Riddle's posts as lackluster as a means to make himself seem more Townie. See my response to that case later on. I really do still think Riddle's play was better than BSP's regardless of my alignment though, which is why I stuck to that read instead of making the switch.

You're claiming his ability to substantiate it is lacking, but the read was correct and players finding certain alignments illogically or in a way that shouldn't match up with their thought process is legit.

Note that I haven't read it.

This is the part where I refer you to Sworddancer's post. It's a question of credibility at this point than it is anything else.

Wait a sec, illogically coming up with a read is legit? You've lost me.

Actually I may have to retract "excellent", because the bit of the post where BSP cites his own reads is like exclusively towns and nulls and "content or he can go"s. Which... well, that's also "not pushing your own things", but I'm giving BSP the benefit of the doubt in assuming he was pushing his own stuff and just didn't quote it.

At any rate the reads in that post were better than Riddle's and more in line with nubtown whereas Riddle (who isn't a scrub anyway) doesn't seem to do anything but hound people for content and other such vacuousness.

As such I do see a clear differentiation on your part based on their alignments (Riddle is your scumbuddy, BSP is town), and you have to argue that you at the very least had a very vested interest in as much ;)

I've seen town push scum on things that go beyond the nullest of null tells and I've seen town (inexplicably) drastically misrepresent things and even lie outright in crafting a case. Those are bad. But they're only bad because they show a clear case of not having your head screwed on right, in a way that could just as easily have led you to the doorstep of a townie

Here's what BSP did: He isolated what scum would have done (pick a favorite between two slots that are indistinguishable, or just the plain wrong one) and identified it in your behavior. That is analysis, not flailing around on the wings of THE GUT.

Now, if Riddle hadn't flipped at the time and BSP still thought he was town, that's moving a bit away from it. But the impression I got from that post was that he found your arbitrary differentiation scummy, and as a result, didn't feel too hot about Riddle based on said differentiation. Particularly since he mentioned that you were using that behavior to clear Riddle, and said that he didn't feel that was legit or deserved.

Arbitrary differentiation is absolutely scummy. If you want to disagree you can go right ahead, but that's like arguing with a Westboro Baptist Church member about "no bro, seriously, gay people are not causing the apocalypse" and they say that we're just gonna have to agree to disagree.

(actually they would probably never be that level-headed and just thwack me upside the head with their GOD HATES PHAGS picket sign, but, well, you get me)

Now if you want to say that he didn't dive into your motivations in the arbitrary differentiation enough, that I can agree with. Regardless, showing an inconsistency in one's alleged checklist is very legit. And the burden of proof, quite frankly, lies with the person that is accused, if they turn out to be scum and want to argue that the push isn't legit.

Looking up "Abitrary differentiation".

Also EE can you give a simple example, visually I guess.

"Here's what BSP did: He isolated what scum would have done (pick a favorite between two slots that are indistinguishable, or just the plain wrong one) and identified it in your behavior. That is analysis, not flailing around on the wings of THE GUT."

Yeah, I was pretty heavily invested in Riddle, but only because I felt his play was better.

BSP only began to push for my slot once I said he should die after JD, so it looks more like an omgus on his part w.r.t. his scum read on me. I'd suggest reading the full game, but I can't be bothered to do a complete analysis on the game, so I can't expect you to.

I actually don't feel the differentiation was arbitrary in that I legit thought Riddle had more town intent in his posts than BSP and was overall playing a better game. I wouldn't have invested myself into Riddle otherwise, but taking every post of Riddle's and outling everything I saw would be downright bothersome considering the game is done with. Ugh.

Related note: EE might have competition for longest wall posts ever.

I'll respond in full later, phone posts suck.
