There's nothing wrong with wanting to play fast paced mafia, but 24 hours deadlines on days in FORUM BASED mafia is just going to make for a really shallow, lacking game.
The entire concept of forum mafia is that it isn't all happening in "real time" so to speak. It's very slow paced because being a forum game, it doesn't require all players to be online at the same time to progress. It just moves along as people log on at different times and individually add to the game at their own pace.
Having 24 hour days does not allow that kind of freedom. To get anything really constructive done in mafia in 24 hours you'd need most if not all the players to be online for that majority of that time period constantly exchanging with one another.
It's just gonna be stupid, rushed guesswork. 24 days in forum mafia is like trying to force a fast pace in a medium that doesn't support it.

Pretty much, 24 hour days is picking a medium where you get the advantages of none of the styles of mafia.
I can support marathon days (though at that point, I'd prefer to just use voicechat or something and play essentially an irl game) and week+ days, heck maybe 5 day days. But 24 hours is extremely unrealistic timescales because it ends of being shallow, and people can't necessarily commit to the time demands.

This. Twenty-four hours days makes the game way too easy for me IMO. I was part of a group in Gaia Online that did Mafia games and they had litterally twenty-four hours per Day to post. It was way too fast and way too easy for me.
One game there (Called Breakfast Mafia) had the deadline like that. It had no Twilight and no Night. I manage to stay afloat with one post per Day and receive minimal suspicion. As a matter of fact, I didn't even post in the last Day. The result? Scum won. I was a scum member.
There was another Mafia hosted there that had no deadlines (Better then a twenty-four hour deadline, but not by much) and I wanted to take advantage of that time by actually playing Mafia. Sadly, people got on to me by saying I was being too harsh on the players, which is BS. I got lynched without even getting the chance to even claim. I was Town. Worst reason for lynching a person is because they're aggressive and being aggressive is not a problem at all. It's a playstyle, not a scum tell.
That group is going to have a really difficult time changing.

@ SSBF, you're clearly playing with a bunch of casuals who don't care about actually playing good mafia and want everyone to just "play nice and have fun".
If you're being lynched for being aggressive and pressuring players, you should drop that community like a hot potato. Not worth your time, nor your effort to be playing there when you won't get any better doing so, and you won't be rewarded for taking the game seriously.

I'm not waiting on Namaste. PNS is stalling for that exact reason. Everyone doesn't want to post TOO much because nobody wants to **** up before the elimination.

Two weeks is almost up. Some people (Macman) are directly waiting on Namaste to write, while half the cast is just waiting for their partner to write something new. Junglefever is going to post tonight and I'm going to write after I read his... EE is thinking about what to do next, but isn't waiting on Namaste.
Basically, while I agree with you that something needs to be done about him, I'm confident that at the 2 week mark when Virgilijus planned on an elimination, if Namaste hasn't written, Virg will handle it. He is a good mod. And also, other people are continuing with him. :3'
edit: also, don't worry about ****ing up by writing more than other people and therefore making extra mistakes... i plan on writing more than anyone just because i like to remain active and have so much story that i want to tell! im not going to write less based on anyone, im just waiting on others to write so that i can weave my story with theirs more.

Thanks Tom, I really like your answer and it basically addresses everything I had worried about. I have great respect for Virg, it's definitely not his fault at all. Just my impatience getting the best of me.
