Don't know how anyone could related to being the main character, I certainly would not want to be around things that kill at the slightest hint of anger regardless, of how naked they are.

I'll be honest and say that the biggest reason I liked Elfen Lied was because of the opening song and the music in general. Lilium too strong.

Looking back on it, the only other thing I really liked about it was how it made me sympathize with most of the Diclonii after considering them to be nothing but ruthless monsters based on the beginning. Realizing how they were just being abused both inside and outside of testing made me really feel for them, and I was surprised that they didn't cause more trouble because of that.

Outside of that, it was pretty mediocre imo.

Edit: I'm actually going to ask for some anime recommendations as well. Dramas and slice of life are my main go-to's with police solving murder cases being super interesting. Anohana (Drama/SoL), Bartender (Drama/SoL although nothing compares to this), Kotoura-San (romantic comedy + drama), and Detective Conan/Case Closed (Mystery/Police with some Adventure and Comedy as well) have probably been my favorite anime so far as examples. Any recommendations would be wonderful :D

Pretty much, I don't get the romcon appeal, given the general oppressive atmosphere and how horrific what the characters go through is. If anything it struck me as satirizing the whole catgirl obsession.

You know what anime was good, Serial Experiments Lain. Especially since there's so little good cyberpunk that in visual media.

Beyond that, good explorations of politics, psychology, philosophy, or all of the above are enjoyable. Also I really love things that are great at creating an extremely persistent oppressive air, such as Wolf's Rain. That sort of aesthetic is very difficult to do effectively.

Yet to find any anime comedy I enjoyed, but maybe Lupin if Lupe liked it.

b gata h kei yamada's first time is pretty good ngl. my friend put it on one time out of pure irony cuz lol boobs but it was actually good. and it's short too, so there's little issue when it comes to commitment to the show.

Well, at least up until the end of the Dark Tournament arc for me. Wasn't a huge fan of the Sensui arc until near the end, then the show picked it back up for me with the Demon World Tournament arc.

I feel like I am a hypster since I prefer Dragonball and find a lot of the rest of the stuff related to it to be, fine but just more dragged out and less character. As a kid, even I felt like that was getting to me.

Freeza vs Goku and friends bored the **** out of me as a kid, it took waaaayyyy too long for anything to happen. Fun? yeah but it definitely dragged out way too much.

It's my biggest issue with "mainsteamed" anime. They take forever to get anything done dragging it out as long as possible and is one of the biggest reason I can't stand One Piece.

I'm hoping Seven Deadly Sins doesn't do the same.

I don't mind a main character who isn't smart. I want something dedeemable and a shows growth.

Luffy has been more or the less the exact same. The people around him change and are interesting.

Luffy just by himself, along with some other issue, ruin One Piece for me.

It has aspects I really like but the final straw hat for me is the pacing and especially Luffy.

dude i understand how yu can get some of these perceptions from cursory watches of one piece episodes/media but yure flat out wrong in some of these assertions

luffy getz his ass whooped more than a negligible amount of times in da story. the author also makez it very clear that luffy is nowhere near da cream of da crop wen it comes 2 most powerful characters. 1 of da reasonz i enjoy it is cuz da author subverts da invincible hero trope. i can think of like 15 chars whod body luffy n are relevant enough 2 da story dat it may happen as it getz further

he also shows hella growth throughout da story. itz mostly shown in his leadership ability n decision making. im sure therez prolly essays on how much hes grown throughout da series

also yure ******** about pacing but dats actually one of one pieces strongest aspects. almost every (which is a lot which makes even more impressive) plotline gets a resolution n da author is meticulous as hell in making sure theyre played out 4 da fanz. yure also basing it off da anime which is NOTORIOUS for filler bull****. one piece is like da equivalent 2 disney in japan so no **** dem ****** is gonna **** out irrelevant fluff 2 feed da masses

if yu dislike luffys derpy shtick dats fine but yure either deluding yurself in2 seeing flaws dat aint dere or going off limited viewership in yur criticisms of it
