Piracy is a security flaw that doesn't get addressed by major consoles. The failure of the developer to adapt security procedures to account for hackers cracking the integrity of their system goes ignored resulting in cracked copies of games to be played on the system or on another system i.e. a computer. Publishers willingly produce and distribute games for this format aware of the weaknesses and the repercussions of having their game potentially cracked and distributed without their permission. The frequency that conversations of this nature focus on morals, support, and individual choice is indicative of the failure of the industry to provide sufficient security so that users aren't able to reverse engineer and distribute illicit copies of games for any given system.

Assuming that there is no formatting measure available to keep pirating from occurring on any given game format, the burden of responsibility lies with distributors for putting in disincentives against people downloading pirating copies. Low cost, easy access, and an appealing game in general is a direction for publishers to push. Indie game developers and indie games seem to intrinsically understand this concept. However, big developers seem to have unrealistic expectations for their game and run up their budget to unrealistic degrees resulting in them requiring to hit above five million copies in order to generate a profit.

Take for example Tomb Raider which sold 3.4 million in its first month. According to an article in Kotaku, Square Enix stated that they were disappoited that they didn't sell six million copies within that time frame. Contrast expectations of that game with sales of Dark Souls 2 where sales after two weeks grossed a little over a quarter of a million and PR from the developer indicated that they were pleased with the sales of the game. Companies don't view the success of a game by long term sales statistics. The most potent data to a market research team is going to be a relatively immediate time frame when the game gets published. By the time the game is cracked and available to be played on a computer, the company has likely exhausted and distilled the data provided to make the decision for their next game release. Developers in a sense attempt to keep out loss of revenue from piracy by releasing new titles from high volume games. For instance, the Call of Duty series and for a jRPG there is the Final Fantasy series and the Tales series. However, considering the root of these games and the level of depth added in each installment, I often feel that we've arrived at a point where new installments are more often than not added padding to a popular brand name and another title to a genre, rather than a new innovative game that was created to stand out for itself. I feel that corporations are less interested in striving for a game that needs to be made, one that challenges stereotypes and conceptions of a genre, and instead creates games that will be bought in mass according to the data of previous games.

I don't believe that most producers for PS4 and Xbox titles release titles that make a personal statement about themselves and rather make games that are conservative, expected, formulaic, and will safely bring in a projected amount of income which is the bottom line to the company. Sony as a company is revealed to be down in all sectors aside from their music and financial investment branches. The company isn't generating revenue by the sale of their game system or their games. Although the products they sell generate some capital, that capital gets multipled by the aptitude of their investment team. When Nintendo set up Reggie Fils-Aime as President of Nintendo America he came with a varied experience in business and sales, however had no history of directing or game development. When game companies elevate people specializing in sales, they stress sales because it's their specialty. However, when looking at the actual products that game sales are dwindling and people are buying less games than they did a decade ago. According to an article on Ars Technica, of the roughly 781 million games registered on Steam accounts, data shows that only 493 million or 63% of these games have been played even once.

When money becomes the front and center issue then the games themselves hold questionable value to the audience that purchases them. Games bought shouldn't be the focus of game companies, but rather whether they have made a game that is being played. If that remains contested to the gamer then pirating is simply a factor of doing business in the modern era.
Cacked article that I think you'll find interesting Acro (as well as everyone else):

http://www.cracked.com/article_20727_5-reasons-video-game-industry-about-to-crash.html

It's interesting that you bring up the point about innovation, because the game industry IS basically totally restricted in that sense. The reason CoD: **** the World keeps getting released is BECAUSE the game industry is so hugely dependent on every game they release being a success due to their huge budgets combined with the demand to not make games ridiculously expensive. Developers stick to the safe path because their scared ****less of a flop, and to be frank I don't blame them.

Any system in particular? Any particular favorites you'd like something similar to?
Well, 3DS and PS3 are probably the best consoles for me, for RPGs at least. Wouldn't mind something in the strategy RPG realm as I'm pretty ignorant outside of the Fire Emblem series and FF Tactics Advance. Haven't played a Persona either; was considering grabbing Persona 4 now that it's on PS3 for $10, but it's a straight port of the original, rather than an HD remaster or even a port of Golden. So I dunno. Just anything that might have been tickling your fancy in recent memory.

@ Circus Circus : I will sleep on it, and give you a thorough parse of my collection for my top-shelf recommendations in the morning. Right now it's 3:30 AM and my eyes are yelling for sleep. If you want to leave me with a list of your owned consoles, that will save me time.

currently hooked up: PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U. Also have a PS2, Wii, Gamecube, and N64 but they're all disconnected and stored somewhere so I'd prefer not to deal with them unless it's for something fantastic. And I have every nintendo handheld since the Gameboy color.

you're a peach.

@ #HBC | marshy #HBC | marshy Madlib & Freddie Gibbs (Pinata) dropped some of the tightest **** year when it comes to rap, hard contender for Rap AOTY for me.
heh

my roommate that i rap with used to rap/produce with freddie gibbs in their teens/early 20s before he blew. theyre both from gary indiana. he was too young/naive to understand to protect his music so gibbs jacked some of his beats for various mixtapes that laid the foundations for him to succeed. now gibbs is known and rappin with some of the best to ever do it (scarface) and among the best to currently be doin it (absoul/danny brown) while my boy is neck deep in the struggles that most unknown rappers choke in despite their skill levels bein equal. just know that there are many rappers who are on par and/or better than the ones getting airplay and the real ones recognize this. jay z once said that he was surrounded by many skilled and talented people from where he was from and that he was lucky to be where he was

funny how vital timing is for a ***** to get heard

but yeah **** is dope its among my favorites to come out this year too

I'm gonna contribute because I feel like it, not all of these are RPGs but just a general area of games that I think are worth buying.

PS3: Infamous, Uncharted, Ni no Kuni (heard there's a slog but otherwise the art style is from Studio Ghibli so yeah that's a thing), Last of Us, Dark Souls (also for Xbox 360), Tales of Vesperia (definitely not Symphonia either), Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, Journey, Valkyria Chronicles, The Sly Collection (dont bother with 4, it's kinda bad), Jak and Daxter Collection, Ratchet and Clank collection, No More Heroes PS3

The rest of stuff I could have listed is multi-plat and I was thinking more around exclusives.

Wii U: The Wonderful 101, Pikmin 3, Super Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong Country Returns: Tropical Freeze, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD....not a lot of serious sellers for the Wii U right now..

Xbox 360: I honestly couldn't tell you here, but there are some weeb stuff you might like, maybe Eternal Sonata? I had a 360 myself but nothing really stuck out for me and I hardly played it. Gears o' war? Halo???? Cowwa duty???? **** if I know.

PS2: Okami, Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal (starting from the first doesn't really matter), Devil May Cry 3, Shadow Of The Colossus, SMT III: Nocturne, Jak and Daxter, Persona 3/Persona 4, Dark Cloud 2, Tales of the Abyss (Not as good as Symphonia imo), Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence, GTA: San Andreas

You should get out your PS2 solely for Okami, but there's also Okami HD for the PS3. You can also get Persona 3 and I believe Persona 4 is coming to the PSN Store too, and I'm pretty sure majority of what I've listed there is available there too, but don't quote me on that.

Up Your Arsenal is seriously one of my favorite games.
People **** on Deadlocked way too much too, that one is genuinely great also.

If Circus managed to find enjoyment in No More Heroes, I'd be confused and aroused. I think I am obligated to mention Catherine, as well as Killer7, and any SMT on PSN is worth the price of admission, roll a die.

But most of all I am going to bring up Chulip if we ignore RPGs, which is on PSN and should be played by everyone to make the world a better place.

Up your arsenal is a lot of fun.
The first is prolly still my favorite though.
I honestly think it's the worst, maybe because the gun feel like pea shooters compared to the later games where you get like a black-hole gun, a gun that transforms people into ducks, a leviathan, a multi-guided rocket launcher, the RHYNO V.3, A high-caliber sniper rifle, etc.

Then there's a gun that's literally called the Super-Nova and does exactly what it says.

You also can't get Omega versions in the original if my memory serves right, the whole reason I love deadlocked is because it has so much replay value to see how powerful you can make your guns. Could you also put mods on your gun in that one? I forget.

It wasn't about the type of guns or what they could do, it was the gameplay and the novelty of literally smacking things upside the head with a giant arench

I'm really interested in this game but the plot makes my head hurt. I don't care about spoilers and I'd rather try to understand it more than anything.

Scratch that, I'll probably just emulate it and try to understand it myself.

Note: This is going to double as a general purpose recommendations list from my collection, so I'm probably gonna recommend or explain a few things that I know you've played. Feel free to ask questions or for further description.

http://backloggery.com/Raziek for reference.

Here's the SRPG Short-list, since I mixed a bunch of other stuff (RPGs) into the larger list.

Fire Emblem Awakening (3DS)
SMT: Devil Survivor Overclocked (3DS)
Bleach: The Third Phantom (DS)
Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift (DS)
Pokemon Conquest (DS)
SMT: Devil Survivor 2 (DS)
Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume (DS)
Super Robot Taisen Original Generations 1 & 2 (GBA)
Advance Wars (GBA)
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance & Radiant Dawn (Gcube & Wii)

Must-plays that are NOT SRPGs:

999 (DS)
Virtue's Last Reward (3DS)
Chrono Trigger (DS)
The World Ends With You (DS)
Golden Sun & Golden Sun: The Lost Age (GBA)
Bioshock & Bioshock Infinite (360)
Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii)
Try the Tales series if you haven't before.

3DS

Fire Emblem Awakening - Must play. Have spoken on the subject many times, but it's the culmination of years of Fire Emblem, and is the best SRPG on the 3DS currently.

LoZ: A Link Between Worlds - Not really an RPG, but just do it. It's Zelda, and it's good.

Pokemon X/Y - It's Pokemon.

Project X Zone - SRPG with a fairly interesting battle system. Primarily enjoyable as a cross-over game, bringing characters from Namco-Bandai, Capcom, Sega, and a handful of others IIRC. Game lacks depth and goes on for way too long, but if you're looking for an RPG with these characters, it's not bad. Took 76 hours to complete, though it started to drag on around 40. Can easily pass on this one if the characters don't appeal to you at all. It's the sole reason I played it.

SMT4 - If you're a fan of the main series SMT games, definitely give this a go. Battle system, Demons, etc are all pretty much what you'd expect. Not super heavy on character development, but story is interesting enough. Only problem with it is that the characters are somewhat contrived towards their alignment paths, but this is kind of standard fare for main series SMT. Doesn't take too long to beat. 56 hours for me.

SMT: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers – I can only talk about this slightly, as I started it and put about 4 hours in, but it didn't hook me. The gameplay is pretty similar to Strange Journey, and is heavy on the dungeon crawling, but you can tell the battle system is pretty dated. Pass on this one IMO.

SMT: Devil Survivor Overclocked – Given how your tastes overlap with mine, Circus, I highly recommend this one. Gameplay is composed of two big 'chunks'. The out-of-battle stuff is comprised of an overworld view of Tokyo, where you move from area to area to trigger events. These events typically take up a chunk of 30 minutes, and the day has key events that occur at certain times to progress major plot events. The sub-events can (and usually do) affect the main plot, and usually involve building affinity with a specific character, which affects the endings you can access. (There's like 7 or something) The plot is essentially a demon apocalypse, coupled with the fact that the characters gain the ability to see a 'Death Clock' above the heads of people, with the numbers of days they have to live. If greater than 7, there's no number. The actual BATTLES are a hybrid SRPG with SMT battle system. You get dropped onto a large grid and move around FFTA/grid-game style, engaging in fights with the opponents on the map. When you actually get in a fight, it's the SMT battle system, extra turns, etc. Rinse and repeat. The battles are fairly straightforward, as the game is mostly driven by its characters and plot. One of my personal favorites.

Tales of the Abyss – I have heard great things, but haven't yet played it.

Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward – I THINK you've played this, but if you haven't, and you like suspenseful visual novels, play 999 first, then this. 999 is on DS, or IOS if you just want the story part. The gameplay is 'Escape the Room' style puzzles, with story breaking those up.

DS

Bleach: The Third Phantom – This is a hidden gem of an SRPG. To quote a random Youtube user -

Flaoither3
cool its like if Fire emblem had sex with bleach this would be thier baby

And he's right. Battle system is practically identical, weapon triangle and all. It's not terribly difficult, but I had a damn good time playing it, even as someone who is not intimately familiar with the Bleach canon. Definitely worth a look.

Chrono Trigger – Nuff said.

Final Fantastic Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift – If you enjoyed the original, you will enjoy A2. It doesn't feel quite the same, though. The story is worse (amazingly, since FFTA's was nothing special), but the gameplay is more polished and they add a bunch of new stuff. Worth a play if you liked FFTA.

Pokemon Conquest – There's no challenge to it because it's a Pokemon game, but this is an enjoyable lovable SRPG that a LOT of people here played when it came out. Very cute and adorable and fun.

Radiant Historia – Traditional RPG, but with a very unique and interesting grid-based battle system. Based primarily on moving your opponent around to combo them. Story revolves around time travel and alternate futures. It's a nice throwback to Chrono Trigger. I highly recommend it, as would @ Gova Gova and I think @ #HBC | ZoZo #HBC | ZoZo has played it as well.

SMT: Devil Survivor 2 – Better than Devil Survivor 1 IMO, but it's pending for a 3DS remake/port. Hasn't been news on it for a while, though. Play overclocked first, then play this. The characters are better. Death clocks were done away with in favor of 'Death videos', where you can see your friends dying before it happens. Obviously, the plot revolves around trying to prevent it, and get rid of all the demons and ****. Super awesome game. Battle system is identical.

Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier – JRPG. Play this only if you play SRT first. More on that later in the GBA section.

Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume – SRPG. Very enjoyable. Grid based, with a timing-based battle system based around juggles, combos, and team combos. Great story. @ #HBC | ZoZo #HBC | ZoZo can vouch for this one as well. Done by Tri-Ace, as you would expect..

The World Ends With You – If you somehow haven't played this, you've made a grave error and there are at least 6 people here who will disown you.

999 – See Virtue's Last Reward in the 3DS section.

GBA

Advance Wars - http://cdn.brawlinthefamily.keenspot.com/comics/2014-04-15-559.png It's fun, but this is why I like it less than Fire Emblem. Worth playing, though. The attachment in the game is only to the Commanding Officers, not to any of the units, which creates a feeling of detachment.

Golden Sun & Golden Sun: The Lost Age – If you haven't played these, fix that. I also made a mafia set-up on these. They're the best JRPGs on the GBA IMHO. Excellent, traditional battle system with an awesome twist through the Djinn and how they affect the class system & summons. I consider these a must-play. Not Dark Dawn on the 3DS though. Dear god, it's like Duke Nukem Forever except not quite as awful, just thoroughly mediocre and not living up to the originals.

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga – Similar to Paper Mario. Hella awesome. The humor is quirky and enjoyable, and the game is just an all-around feel good time.

Now for something you've probably never heard of.

Super Robot Taisen: Original Generations (1 & 2)

These two games are SRPGs. They're like Fire Emblem with kick-ass mechs. Not as difficult, though. If that wasn't enough to sell you, there's more! They have a fantastic ****ing soundtrack & characters. Most characters have their own theme song. Just listen to this ****.

PS3

Looking at my collection, I'm actually kind of mad at myself, because I haven't completed any of the PS3 RPGs I own. Tales of Graces F, Tales of Xillia, and the Tales of Symphonia Chronicles re-release all reside here, and are all great. Have heard good things about Valkyria Chronicles & Ni No Kuni, but I don't like the art style of NNK. Play Tales games though, can't go wrong.

Xbox 360

Bioshock & Bioshock Infinite – These are shooters at heart, but they have RPG elements in terms of the powers/abilities and junk. Definitely worth playing, not huge time-sinks either. Play em for the story.

Catherine – Co-signing Nabe on this recommendation. Gameplay is broken up between Day Phase, which is essentially a dating sim, and night phase, which is a puzzle platformer. Has a super interesting and twisted story, multiple endings (though they're pretty similar). Definitely worth a play. By ATLUS, IIRC.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Action RPG. I haven't played ALL of it, but this is a great game. Gives you complete freedom (even boss fights) to choose between stealth or a more active play-style. RPG elements are well-integrated through Jensen's augmentations and the story elements of the game.

Dishonored – This is what you get if you take playing a stealth character in Elder Scrolls and slap a steampunk spin on it, with like, first-person Hitman gameplay. They give you great freedom in how to approach and deal with your targets. The story is great, but I wouldn't really qualify it as an RPG, though your gameplay style does alter the ending based on how much of a killing machine you are. @ #HBC | ZoZo #HBC | ZoZo can provide input here as well.

Dragon Age: Origins – Here's a more true RPG. This game is basically like playing World of Warcraft with story centered around you. Excellent characters and story. One of the best RPGs on the 360. It is getting a little old, though.

Dragon Age II – Unfortunately, this is not “More of the same” from the first Dragon Age. This is Mass Effect 2: Dragon Age edition. It's not awful, but the main character is no longer your own creation, and is much more like Commander Shepard. The game takes far too long to ramp up and get going (like 20 hours before you actually advance the main plot), but the characters are all interesting and enjoyable. If you liked both Mass Effect and Dragon Age Origins, you will probably like DA2, but it doesn't really encompass the spirit of the original.

Dragon's Dogma – Action RPG by Capcom. Didn't hold my interest long enough to say a LOT about it, but it is a very older style RPG. Capes, Wizards and ****. Had a re-release or sequel? Not really sure. Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. Ah. I see. It's an updated re-release that polished the original game, added extra content, and shaved off the sharp edges that the original had.

Oblivion & Skyrim – I don't think I have to say anything here. If you somehow haven't come across an Elder Scrolls game, you need to fix that.

Enchanted Arms – This one flew under a lot of people's radars, coming out quite early. It's an enjoyable RPG with a pretty solid story. Battle system is grid-based, revolving around positioning in your half of a 8x4 grid. Or 8x5, can't remember. You queue up actions for a turn, then they resolve, etc. It's nothing super special, but it's decent.

Eternal Sonata - @ #HBC | ZoZo #HBC | ZoZo has been trying to get me to play it for ages. He can tell you more than I can, I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Fable 2 / 3 – I..... honestly can't super-recommend the Fable series. If you played the original, then play 2, but skip 3. They're nothing special.

Fallout 3 – Play this. It's Elder Scrolls with a different skin. (Post-apocalyptic) Haven't played New Vegas to comment on it.

Final Fantasy XIII, XIII-2 – They're long, and they're linear. If you don't like the characters or the battle system, don't bother. I suggest looking up an explanation of the battle system, if you know nothing about the game.

Kingdoms of Amalur – This is offline World of Warcraft. I didn't finish it, because the main story is poorly paced and I lost interest due to feeling like I needed to complete every quest, when the game is not paced for that style of play.

Mass Effect 1, 2, 3 – Action RPG. I assume you've played. If you haven't, you should. First one is the most like an RPG and will probably feel a bit dated by now. Second one is godlike. Third is a bit of a letdown. It's basically a sanitized AAA version of Mass Effect 2, but doesn't tie things together in the magical way the second one did.

Resonance of Fate – Play this for one reason only. The battle system. I've never played anything like it, and it's pretty awesome. Story & characters suck though. Plot is basically non-existant. I wasn't able to finish it as a result of lack of interest and a bull-**** gauntlet-style fight series.

Tales of Vesperia – I didn't like it QUITE as much as I did Symphonia, but it's still an amazing game, with fantastic characters. Absolutely worth playing.

Wii U

There's little to play on this right now. I haven't touched any of the first party stuff really. I have been told great things about Wonderful 101 over and over, but when I tried the game it left a bad taste in my mouth. The controls are super finicky and that leads to things being really frustrating on a regular basis. Maybe it just wasn't for me, I don't know. Play Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate if you want, or just wait for MH4 and play it with all of us when it comes out.

PS2

I'd like to offer comments here, but I got a PS2 very late in the game and have not had the time to complete much on it.

Wii

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn – Since you're a fan, I assume you have played it. If you haven't, fix that. It has probably the best gameplay in the entire series, but the character development is lacking due to the 4-part structure, sheer number of characters, and stripped-down support system.

Pandora's Tower – Action JRPG. Played about half of it. It's a love story, while the gameplay is platforming/real-time battle. The game's gimmick is this magical chain that you use for both, which was honestly pretty cool. I don't know why I didn't finish it, I should go back and do that.

Xenoblade Chronicles – If there is one RPG on this list that you decide to play, make it this one. It's my favorite RPG of the last several years. Characters & Story are godlike. If you want a more detailed rant on how awesome this game is, I will provide it. But this is the MUST PLAY title on the Wii.

Gamecube

Baten Kaitos - @ #HBC | ZoZo #HBC | ZoZo , this is your territory. I still haven't played them yet. T-T

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance – Play this before Radiant Dawn, if you haven't played them. Radiant Dawn is a direct sequel, including direct benefits for transferring your data. They're Ike's games!

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door – Paper Mario is somewhat difficult to describe. If you haven't played it, you should. More info on request.

Phantasy Star Online Ep. 1 & 2 – This is one of my favorite action JRPGs, but I openly admit it is entirely nostalgia. It's very dated at this point, both graphically and gameplay wise. I still love it though. This was the first real console MMO that I can think of.

Skies of Arcadia: Legends – There's a reason I made a mafia game based on this. One of my all-time favorites, I currently loaned out my copy to @ #HBC | Ryker #HBC | Ryker . JRPG with an excellent story. You're Air Pirates, with flying ships, set in a world entirely on floating islands in the clouds. It's awesome. The battle system is old-school turn-based, with specials/magic, etc. Super great game.

Tales of Symphonia – Play this. Play this. Play this. It's amazing. You might as well play the PS3 re-release, though.

Cacked article that I think you'll find interesting Acro (as well as everyone else):
Calling that an article is a politeness it doesn't deserve. It's more like, here's 5 problems with the videogame industry, and some baseless doom-mongering.

Maybe if you didn't know the first thing about the vidyagame industry, you might be surprised by some of this stuff. But to tie it all together and claim it spells the downfall of the industry is just bull****.

Baten Kaitos is meh. Has its ups and downs, decently playable game overall. If you're recommending stuff for GBA I'd definitely add FE6, which has become my favorite GBA FE but it's also the most difficult one. GBA also has 3 Castlevania games, all of them are pretty good.

Wrt to a few games that popped out on Raz's list that I can comment on.

Tales of the Abyss - If you like Tales games, play it. If you like JRPGs, play it. If you have a person to play cooperatively with, play it play it play it, it's the best game in the series to play coop. It's about 30 hours longer than it should have been, but even if you just play it until it gets boring, you'll still have played like 40 hours of a great game. I played it on the PS2.

Dragon Age: Origins - This game is truly fantastic, I can't recommend it enough. The characters are brilliant, as is the voice acting. Seriously, #1 best voice acting in any game you'll ever play, ever. Top notch. Makes all the characters super likeable. Tons of options for how to build your character, and fit them into a functional party. Liked the story a lot, and there's tons of choices about how to complete each quest.

Fallout: New Vegas - I've heard a lot of differing opinions about how this game stacks up against FO:3. Personally, I like it better. I like the setting, I like the characters, and I like how the faction system lets you pick sides in the fight for control of the Mojave. The dialogue is also a lot more colorful, but if you just like wacky jokes, FO:3 might be more your cup of tea. Honestly, I've played them both and recommend them both, but this is the one I actually own, and I've replayed it a bunch.

Can concur on 6, I forgot to add it because it's not in my list due to not owning a hard copy. Agreed on the Castlevanias as well.

I also realized I glazed over the Persona games because you didn't list PSP or VIta, and that is where I own them.

I have played Persona 3 Portable, and that was amazing. Second-best version would be FES on the PS2, but I don't think you can control your party members in that version.

Persona 4 is similarly awesome, so I've been told. Haven't played it just yet, but Gova has.

P4 is great but a lot of SMT fans hate it because it's the most 'cheery' one to date. I think this is a baseless criticism and I can't see what's to hate about it, romance is even optional this time if 'date simulator' isn't your thing, and the characters are all quite likable and the dialogue is well-written, and the plot twist is done well. It's basically like a better version of P3 in my opinion, maybe not as 'dark' as it's predecessor but loads of fun nonetheless.

As far as SRPG's go, the new XCOM is really good. I'd recommend picking it up.
