You don't have to pre-register if you're not playing in any tournaments (i.e. just getting a guest pass).

Could you guys post a more accurate schedule please? Why is there so much extra pot for street fighter there will be more brawl people most likely just like any other tournament.
Who is housing for this?

More detailed than this?

http://www.devastationevent.com/schedule/

Smash starts at 11am on Saturday. We'll do doubles first, then singles. We'll be running on about 8-10 consoles.

As for the payout, we're going by registrations this year and attendance last year. Last year Smash had the second highest attendance behind Street Fighter IV. This year Super SF4 has more registrations than Smash, so it has a higher pot.

If more people register, we'll look into making the pot higher, but right now we haven't reached the numbers from last year yet so it's set at $1,000. Although we do expect 50% of our registrations to come in the first two weeks of June.

lulz @ the Barlw comment thinking it'll get more attendance than SSFIV

Don't be kiddin' yourself, man :chuckle:

Just see for yourself what last year's attendance for SFIV was like...

It's more the age of the game than anything else. If both games were new... or Brawl was as widely accepted as Melee, I think you'd see equal numbers.

Smash doubles will be first, followed immediately by smash singles. Unless the community would rather see singles first. Either way, both will be played on Saturday with one starting at 11am and the other starting as soon as the first is over.

The schedule is unlikely to change. The only changes you would possibly see is *maybe* some start times being pushed back if a massive number of people show up for certain games, but even then, Smash will not be affected (since only Smash and TvC are running on the Wii).

does anyone wanna make a bet against me that Chris gets top 3 at Devastation in singles? (i'm betting that Darklink does NOT get top 3)

Chris might slip up and lose to Kira or someone else, and one blunder might cost him that, seeing as M2k and Dekar are gonna be there. Not to mention, there's the chance of him getting gayed by the wonky bracket system.

Tai its impossible for me to lose to Kira, wtf are you smoking?

If you were aware last tournament I went random characters in finals

but

with LM, m2k, havok, mikehaze, sk92 and stuff, I'll have to work super hard and get lucky for top 3

but then again Tai, you wouldn't know how it feels to get top 3 without paying Taj for it hahaha

it actually is pretty tough to get top 3 when every tournament has 3 or 4 nationally renowned pros. have YOU ever done it?

i'm pretty sure you're gonna experience something pretty similar (probably a little worse) at devastation :psycho:

that's a silly insult cuz there's a giant difference in the relative skill distribution between Melee locals and Brawl locals and you know it, and it'd be inane to compare them.

btw, i don't pride myself in my "top 3" placing with taj at all. the only reason i paid him to forfeit to me was cuz i wanted to play axe in losers bracket and cuz the prize was more than i paid him, so i'd rather be safe than take a chance against a better player.

Why did you post the first thing, starting an argument in the first place?

and I don't care at all about what you just posted, I barely skimmed it. I still stepped up to be the best, how much farther can I go when no one challenges me?
