Sorry I haven't posted in awhile, i've been really busy with work and fatherly stuff.

I'm slowly but surely recruiting people at work to play smash, most of them are picking up everything fairly quickly which was suprising to me. After a couple of weeks I should have about 4 more average smash players for smashfests and tournies.

Good job at keeping the thread alive, even though it's mostly about the world cup. GO SPAIN!

Hey Shawn! Good to hear from you, and even better to hear that you're bringing some more players into the Des Moines Smash scene. We could really use it.

As soon as you think they're ready for some new players, I want you to contact David and have him play everyone. I wish he'd L-Cancel and wavedash more though... And you've only used needles on my recovering Fox...two times, man!

To everyone: I'd love to do an Iowan crew battle, sometime...perhaps? Central Iowa vs. East Iowa? It'd be awesome, think about it.

If we have a 4 person crew battle, I know Des Moines can do it. And I'm sure your whole side of the state can come up with 4 decent players, as we aren't going to offer much of a challenge.

I was looking over our rankings again, and I realized...we suck bad. No real power players to represent. The "Central Iowa Crew" would probably consist of:

1. victor2000
2. Maze
3. Fall
4. Dv02
5. mybi0hazard (?)


Do we want 4 or 5 people? I'd prefer 4, because if we had 5, we'd lose just out of lacking character diversity. We'll have to work a TON on crew tactics you guys.

I'm guessing the "Eastern Iowa Crew" would consist of:

1. EarthBowser
2. kintehr
3. EarthBowser's friend, David?
4. kintehr's brother?
5. (?)

I'm sure you guys could come up with a more accurate roster than I just posted. Heh.

Holy crap, I haven't posted in here in a while. o_O

I wish I could get good enough to fill that #5 spot for Eastern Iowa. ^_^ EarthBowser, thanks for comin' to Dubuque and wreckin' all our houses while teachin' us some stuff to get better. Good times. Hope to play all you guys sometime, and hope I don't suck too much when I do. ;P (Switched to Peach, so that should help a bit.)

Also, I'll definitely post in here when I decide on the date for the SSBM tourney I plan on having some Saturday late July/early August.

I'm surprised I'm number two, but...zyroqwa tends to par me 60% of the time, dramatic win/lose 15%, eternal Marth vs. Roy.

If this is part of a big fest/tournament I'll be sure to make plans.

I'm just sitting in Iowa City...and with the giant tournament thing, if it's in Des Moines I probably would need a ride, but I have... 4 or 5 Smashers to contribute...including myself.

Driving 4+ might be a problem. I don't have a van or anything big, and I'd be taking zyroqwa.

I guess I'll try renting someplace non-residential out here, although it hurts even more when you're putting money in it with some chance of small outcome. I might try Iowa City instead for location.

Hey, you never travel. Going against your will? And FIND SOME CANADA SMASHERS while you're there! I'm doing my best to find Smashers in another country, but I know there are lots of great players up north. Ask your mom if she'd be cool with that.

Also, you've got to be kidding me, I didn't take notes on those annoying things. Why do you think I put "wooblify" and defined it as "to woob something, and/or something the woobs" as my "W" weighty word?

EarthBowser, you've played Dark Hogosha...is he good enough to represent?

Tim, I'm surprised David and I are the best players in the whole city! Des Moines sucks (trust me, I've played over 75 scrubs in DSM). It's kind of sad...a city of 250,000 people and we can barely produce a top 10 list.

I'd be great if we could find a location that would be FREE. kintehr, we could just do everything in your garage...you were going to have another Smashfest in August sometime, isn't it? I could try and get Ian or Tim to drive us DSM Smashers up to your place, Icy could come with his friends, and I assume EarthBowser would be there. August 12th for a date maybe? Just throwing out ideas...

Striked Icy because I forgot his parents don't want him going to someone's house, kinda tough to work around parents. Mine are fine with just meeting the adults holding the event...

A Smashfest is still in the plans for August 12th, free-style, yup, maybe the 13th now I got work. I'm hoping I'll be able to meet icy's parents by then and if needed have his talk with mine so his group can make it.

I wouldn't worry about a top ten Eastern Iowa list right now, though.

Haha, it's been 6 months since someone has mentioned that name to me. Thanks. That COULD'VE been sent to me as a PM, so I'm going to respond to it with a PM. I'm sure no one here cares to read about boring personal past that have nothing to do with Smash.

Anyway. Went to my aunt's second birthday party. Birthdays are heavily celebrated here, takes days to complete. Played some people that aren't related to me in any way, but somehow know me. After beating 3 level 9's on a team against me to prove myself (once with Ganon, once with Jiggles), I Smashed the 4 new players. They all sucked bad, even when totally teamed against me. Sigh.

You're #2 because you have a strong grasp of the game and that your skill level stays the same during the whole match, no matter how far you're winning or losing. Also, you play Sheik.

Oh, and I'm sure I can beat you, as I still play hours a day.

Great. 1st and 2nd are out of state. and my car is out of service. so i cant visit des moines resident smashers unless they live on the south side of des moines. top that off, my computer is down, so i cant even use it to look up tips and tricks...works great as a coaster though. so i guess i will have to just practice what i know (which isnt much). we need to find some more good smashers. Too bad my brother owns the gamecube. he is a prick. and ian, the next time we smash, i might just pwn you. yea right. Victor, keep it real. Maze, lets play Halo2 sometime.

Hey, I've always said EarthBowser was the best in Iowa. So take me out of the "all of you." He has more MLG and tourney experience than any Iowan, as far as I know.

JBM, not trying to hate, but at least cite some evidence instead of busting in and declaring you're the greatest. Have the Omaha Crew vouch for you.

Talk to Mike falco, When in friendlies i played 2 sets of 2-3 and the first was 2-0 and the second was 2-1. also during OM1 i played Dragon 2-3 i lost the first match barely and the next game we played at YS and i three stocked him, then he counterpicked falco and FD and i two stocked him there as well. the only person who i was beat by was smeesh, i two stocked him at FOD but then was 4 stocked at FD, then 2 stocked at BF. not to be johning or anything but Smeesh is the first CF i've played... ever.. I never got the chance to play batman Mo yosh or echo tho, which i hope to do this next upcoming tournament, i've spoke to you victor on aim b4.
