Congrats on the consistency, Ace!
I feel you, MDZ has taken sets off me before >.>. Props on getting 3rd though, placing behind MDZ and Zoso is nothing to be ashamed about.I forgot who else used which characters, anyone who remembers just fill it in, it's so difficult to beat melee pros damnit lol
I won the last tournament, our matches are always so close it's nerve-wrecking lol, but yea I guess, thanks, I just get mad at myself a bit too muchI feel you, MDZ has taken sets off me before >.>. Props on getting 3rd though, placing behind MDZ and Zoso is nothing to be ashamed about.

Nope. :/ Nobody brought a recording setup at all. Melee had 42 entrants and PM had 25, so it's a shame.Any videos, apple?
Yes, all of this is true, but 16 people is still extremely small. Even if a pot was available, assuming a $5 entry fee ($80 total) with a standard 60/30/10 split, that would only net the winner $48, 2nd place $24, and 3rd place $8. In the long run, after my analysis has compiled dozens or possibly even hundreds of tournaments, the significance of such a small pot is not very large, especially when you consider that not one character's usage was repeated among the 16 entrants. The already small prize money would have been split pretty thoroughly by three different characters, causing the impact to a certain char's standings to be even smaller. To be clear, I'm not saying APEX wasn't important; I'm saying that the data (not only for my analysis but for ANYONE'S objective analysis) doesn't hold much weight.
It's impossible to give a tournament non-numeric significance that isn't subjective.
Edit: But in case this bothers you, Metroid and JC, would you like me to include APEX (with an assumed $5 entry fee) in my findings?
The problem is that I see the chance of Reflex going solo Wario a LOT more probable than his chance of going solo Ivy (which is what I was referring to). I'm aware that Vwins picked up Ivy, but is he seriously dropping Lucario? :-O
Yeah, I've seen it. His Snake is crazy!
Where did you get this placing information? I'm still willing to post the results, but I need a source.I noticed nobody has posted the last Gameclucks results. I can fill in characters I remember, but not all. I figure this information would be better to be posted incomplete than not at all. I don't have a copy of the bracket nor exact payouts either, but it was clearly a decent turnout.

Well I was there so that's how I have the character information, the results were posted in the Washington Melee Facebook group by the TO. I just posted it here because it didn't seem anyone else was interested in reporting it.Where did you get this placing information? I'm still willing to post the results, but I need a source.
In other news, the thread has been updated! Check the OP for more details!
Would you mind posting the Facebook link for the results? Sorry if I came off as skeptical, I just wanted ensure that it was accurate considering that the tournament occurred a while ago.Well I was there so that's how I have the character information, the results were posted in the Washington Melee Facebook group by the TO. Not only was this the first 2.6 tournament (afaik), but it was also my first win, yaaay!
metroid1117 said:Since Demo 2.5's release roughly seven months ago on December 28th, there have been a staggering 144 recorded tournaments, with 9 in the Pacific West, 10 in Europe, 13 in Canada, 16 in the Atlantic South, 23 in the Southwest, 31 in the Atlantic North, and 42 in the Midwest! Keep in mind that there are probably many more tournaments that occurred but not recorded, so this is just the tip of the iceberg! Let's set more records with Demo 2.6 and push our game to new heights!
Works for me .So I am going to start having Monthlies at my College and I can see a few here and there not having big turnouts. What would be a good ball park for it being worth posting here? What I mean is 6-7 people is pretty much just a smash fest, but is 10-12 enough for posting as an actually tournament?
