What's the best way for me to play a more defensive Falcon? I'm more of the offensive type and sometimes I get reckless just to hope that I get a combo. I want to play a little more defensively but I feel like it gets a little more boring >< So far, I can WD backwards and counterattack and shieldgrab but is there anything else that can help me defensively?

i find running to the opposite side of the stage then standing still is very intimidating to the opponent. or just doing nairs backwards to get away. or stomping in place, thats fun. but you need to be agressive with falcon or else your nothing.

Dashdancing and Nair work best for my play style. I used to get 4-stocked by a Doc because I was too aggressive. I always wanted to go straight into combos, but you gotta set up for it. Play back a bit, throw some Nairs to space yourself, and mindgame yourself into a great combo. Easier said than done.

Play it safe with falcon and dont rush into anything stupid. Once you get off the edge and are forced to use your up b, you will die.

Use dashdancing like a drug addict uses coccaine, allll theeee timmmmmeeee. And nair.. wtf priority? Your goal here if you want to establish control is to get a grab, or find an opening for a nair, or down air, or a good ol fashioned knee to the face. falcons dash attack isnt that bad either I use it from time to time as a mixup.

What you want to do with falcon is be very careful when you're not hitting your opponent, then become agressive like a demon as soon as you hit them and they're on the defensive. You have to balance both defence and offence to play a good falcon, because you have absolutly no way to recover from anything, be careful... but when you get the chance gogo nair double uair knee ftw.

The best defense is a good offense, and the best offense is a good knee.
QFT. Dylan also had really good input, it's important to not get hit, because most good characters can get you offstage and once that happens you are very limited in your options.

Also I'm pretty sure that Darkrain's attitude at one point was "0-death your opponent or die." Which reinforces being as aggressive as possible once you get your opening.

Use the boost to get through

Eh, also remember not to get carried away, if your in an awesome combo, and you see that the finisher is out of reach, just relax and kill later instead of jumping 20 feet offscreen and getting gimped.

Yeah, n-airs are like your best friend, great for attacking/comboing and a great retreating attack too. just shffl backwards w/ the nair, it will keep them at bay and allow you time to find openings to attack.
