I want to expect better of you, but I know not to
try the new haven county and i'm gotchu
Uhg, driving up to New Haven is a bit of a beating, I have to fight NYC traffic and it always ends up being 1 hour + to get from my work to New Haven. You do have the little magic "TSA" in your sig that lets me know you're awesome though, so maybe we can work something out later this week.

^Thats what the power rankings should be. Lock is easily better than MD, Nana, and JV. I know none of you have played him in Brawl that often but Iplay with him online and all of his characters are out of this world and personally, I definitely think he could beat the people below him without a doubt. Hes really good.

AND Nana said hes beaten you several times so scratch you off the list.

Cort and Wes are obvious because Cort is Cort and Wes plays people from all over the world online and fiends Brawl. Icy has always been consistent and I have been consistent at tournaments as well. You on the other hands Noodles have been to like three tournaments (although have vastly improved) and believe you should be third in the state? No. You have some more proving to do at tounaments. You did not go to the last two esticles (which every week you tell me you need to "prepare for" and then do not show up.) and I think you went to one of the reapers and no Newbs For Brawl tournies? Compete more.

Edit

Jam-Yeah, haha true....you deserve to be on the list...but maybe #8-10 or something. You do deserve to be there though, for sure.

Also-I am once again excited to be posting again. No longer are we rambling on about nothing.
With all this debate, someone should hold a big tourney, then we'll all settle it there. >____0 Make sure its like a month in advanced so I can take the day off. btw me and nana have beaten several of those people above us xD exept cort lol.

No, no single tourney decides anything. You need to be a consistent player to prove your standing. You just don't hold a single tournament and go "Oh hey! I beat you once so man...I'm sooo much better than you! Move me up on the rankings man." No, thats not how it works. You need to do consistently well. Excuses or not Noodles, you did not attend. Like I said, attend more tournaments and what your saying could possibly be true. I'm not denying the fact that you're right....you just have not proven it to CT yet really.

I do think that CT really needs to step up the hosting of more Melee AND (Yes, i'm saying it) Brawl tounaments. I know school is starting up in a week or whatever but we do not have enough Melee and Brawl in CT. As I told the people who attended Long Live Hit Stun, I will be hosting more in the future. I am actually going to begin preparing for the next LLHS very soon...I just need to get settled with school and such.

Good point but all these tournies kinda fail at one thing, and thats attendance if you had a tourney that would go toward ranking of CT then more people would attend due to the tournies sole purpose for existing is to rank and judge who gets the cred of being best and who doesnt. If someone isnt satisfied then a circuit can be made.

consistency alone doesn't necessarily mean much either. you can enter as many time as you want but if you place last you probably wont be on the rankings

Cort is clearly #1 and Brookman is clearly #2. I would say Spawn is #3, but he isn't as far from the people below him as Paul and Mike are from everybody else. The rest of the list gets kind of hazy because there are a few people who I haven't played recently enough to be able to rank them accurately, but it would go something like this.

4. Mike$
5. Budai
6. Trademark
7. AwsmSean
8. Nus
9. ZK
10. Pipe

I don't want to offend anybody, but I don't think there's really any need to rank people beyond the top 10. If we're considering Swift to be CT, he'd be #2.

Me- I don't think brookman is far above me in skill level. All of the times I've played him we've gone relatively even in our matches.(I know they're just friendlies but it still gives me a general idea of his skill level).

1) I was going to ask who beat Spawn. Do you know if there's a bracket floating around?

2) I see your point, but NY/NJ tournaments generally provide stronger competition. Not to trash on CT, but that's just the way it is.

3) Is this in regards to Melee? Would you honestly say that Lilian and JV are as good as Pipe?
1) I'll see if I can get it for you, Rich might still have it.

2) & 3) I don't know, honestly. I haven't played with any of Kaiba in forever, but I have played milktea recently, and she hasn't lost a step. I think PoF hit the nail on the head: you can't have CT rankings without CT tournaments, and that's the long and short of it. OoS tourneys have their place in helping to decide PRs, but the Melee scene in CT has all but disappeared, and Brawl tournaments/attendance have been spotty at best. The discussion is interesting, but we're at least several major tournaments away from being able to say anything definitive about Melee or Brawl in CT.

So I'm taking this english course called Cyberpunk and it seems amazing. CCSU randomly has like one amazing class every semester and doesn't offer it again. This counts towards one of my english credits too! So one of the books we have to read in it is Ghost in the Shell volume 2. ^^ I am actually going to almost try this semester...

I don't think there is Zoso. I remember who the top kids lost to though.
KevinM lost to Nusx2
Pipe lost to Nus/KevinM
Budai lost to KevinMx2
Spawn lost to Pipe/Budai

Anyways, it'd be weird to be put on seeing as I was too inactive for the last one and adding another year of inactivity gets me back on... rofl. I'd help construct it but the only people I have played semi recently is everyone who isn't on zoso's list. >>

All this talk has made me really want to play with people zomggg (even Brawl lulz Garrett). I would love a smashfest except that I'm so far away from the center of CT that there's always a chance I won't be able to go anyway.

ty everyone for putting me on the melee PRs! I wish I got a chance to play with all you more often. Maybe I'll post my PRs sometime when I have a bit more time to think about it.

Zoso I can't do anything tonight but I might be free tomorrow evening.

So then, back to using the ECRC?? btw alot of people were getting Runic Wings confused with my real gamer tag so I just decided to make it easy and kinda just use Moon-Doggie.

I still love this game, but the fact is I have a wife and a son now, and I'm not willing to spend an entire day in MA/NY/NJ playing a game, no matter how much I love it. I would hope that decision doesn't relegate me to Smash obscurity, but if it does, so be it. I suppose this just may not be the type of hobby for people like me.

I'm in kind of the same situation (minus the kid) and unfortunately it does relegate us to relative smash obscurity, minus the boards of course. Though I've given my "I never play anybody" speech a lot so I'll skip it.

Yeah, but responsible men like to have fun too! So the lack of a consistent CT scene makes me sad.
the scene over on my side is pretty consistent, we just cant drive yet lol. Once we do brawl will take over ct MWAHAHAHAHAHA.

Even though I don't want melee to end <___< I miss the old days..... Even though
I was new to the scene then.

M-D and Noodles- At first I felt like I should be higher like you said but now that I think about it no. I always play like crap when it comes down to the actual tournament and I just do stupid ****. Although I have beaten everyone above me multiple times except Lock, (never played) Icy (only played like once or twice and in teams which is irrelevant) and Cort, they're still only friendlies and I don't place well enough so I suppose that's pretty right but Moon-Doggie should definately be higher. 4th probably. No offense to any of you but he places well when he goes and is definately better than Jam, Pof and Noodles. He's just usualy broke/rideless. Don't know about Lock though and Icy may be a toss up but he's probably better. Real nasty Oli.

1 Cort
2 Wes
3 Icy
4 M-D
5 Noodles
6 Pof
7 Jam
8 Lock
9 Nana
10 JV

IMO. I feel like OWM and OBM should be in this...

I agree with Nana about OWM and OBM but there not from CT, also Nana your just
inconsistent is all. That could easily be fixed just dont do stupid **** lol

Like yesterday when you came over, you did good when you did what I told you,
don't use falco for ledge games xD

K. When me and Papito chill ill give you a call.

thinking about it since you main snake I may be the only
fox in CT so that makes me the best fox?
I'm coming next time you guys chill.

Yea I am inconsistent and I would say I'm better than 9th but tourney placement doesn't show it consistently so it doesn't matter.

Ok, first of all everytime i've played MD I either barely beat him or he either barely beats me....we are close. I could see you saying that he is better than Noodles currently due to his lack of attending tournies...thats efficient. Its a toss up because Jam is incredible and I think that in a tourney setting Jam could beat him. I dont know...just hypothetically speaking.

In terms of a smashfest-I AGREE! We should definitely do one this Saturday or something before I start school up.

Where is Brookman these days anyway? I havent seen him in a while and that ***** still has my N64.

Also-I really do think that BOTH BRAWL AND MELEE POWER RANKINGS should get updated. It would definitely open up much discussion (not common in the CT thread) and create a more competitive friendly environment. Yeah, I may not enjoy Brawl too much but it definitely would be nice to see how CT competes and how people are ranked.

I remember you beating me once, but I had won that set at reapers so it doesnt matter, after that you never beat me.

And yeah Brawl fox, melee fox cort already four stocked me way back when....
So I'll MM for suckiest Melee fox.

Oh and Nana, yeah, everytime I go your always working usually its Monday
and wednesdays from 12-6 depending on whether or not I want to go
back to school, if thats the case, then all day.

But if you want to come and get some real training done we could stop by in
one of our training days and woop him and "G" haha.
