Ratings aren't everything. Seriously. Nintendo Power gave Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic Riders 8/10 scores, when they both deserve 5 or below.roy_owns said:

That's what I hate about Microsoft, they don't realize Video games were made for everyone Microsoft comes in makes a bunch of M games which forces Nintendo to do the same.

Another thing, is brawl will be under stocked unless people preorder it. Halo 3 is expected to be the biggest thing in gaming since the original systems, and like Halo 2, they aren't going to have like 10 copies in a location. The biggest problem nintendo has as far as matching up with microsoft and sony, is that they pulled a pretty bad move being so undersupplied as far as systems and wiimotes go. Personally, I think its because the release games were crud, and they didn't want the casual gamers, who would most likely buy a wii when they don't have to wait for one, to get a wii expecting some great games, and lose interest in the system.

Well, one of the difference between Sony and Microsoft and Nintendo is that Sony and Microsoft have money coming in from other sources. They have computers, and PC software, and other electronics while Nintendo relies solely on their video game income because that's all they are, a video game company.
I'm not saying that Nintendo isn't doing well, I'm just saying that they can't produce as much as the other companies because they have more branches and franchises to their names. Budget plays a HUGE part in the capabilities to mass produce.

Capital isn't an issue at this point. They could afford to produce as many Wii's as they want, but they aren't going to flood the market. It's called 'supply and demand', I think.

I wonder if there is anywhere to procure some "Mario Punoh" for the day off of school I'm taking for Brawls release.
And maybe this is just naive and misguided, but wouldn't Sony and Microsoft have to spend less on developement and such as far as software and consoles go since they already make pretty complex machinery outside of their gaming branches? I don't know... Don't flame me please lol

Thanks for the luck wish, but I got pwned. Just like last time. Normally I main YL, but it seems like both times I went to a tourney, I ended up using Link instead. I think he's better for tourney play. But I still prefer YL over Link. And I am so maining MK, Pit, and Link in Brawl. CSLink, too, if he's in.
Exactly. You can't base reviews of fighting games off the characters and stages that are in it. And, even if it gets rated .1/10, I don't give a d@mn. Because, as Dyce said, it will be beautiful, and the best thing to happen to Wii this year.

Yeah. I never gave a crap about Halo, personally. I don't like FPS games, and I don't like games with blood everywhere, either. (I know MP is a FPS, but I decided to try it out anyway...) And Brawl will own Halos 1, 2, and 3, and all subsequent Halos afterward. Unless there are none.

And don't forget that the Wii outsold the PS3 at something ridiculous like six to one or something, and it would have outsold the 360 too if that hadn't had a year to rack up sales before the other two came out. The 360 would probably be lowest on the market now if it weren't for the headstart it got.

Well I guess I kind of rambled to the point that if company A has, for a small scale example, 100 dollars. If company A is solely a game developing company and starts making their console from scratch, they have to use 50 of their 100 dollars on system developement and making their own hardware, and use the other 50 dollars on making games. If company B also has 100 dollars, but is not solely a gaming company, but also specializes in technology in other fields, isn't is safe to assume that they wouldn't have to invest as much in creating their own hardware if they already specialized in hardware before they made games?
Perhaps I'm jsut over simplifying how the gaming giants operate, but it's jsut my two cents...

Oh, okay. That makes sense.
I forgot to tell about one match I played (not a tourney match, a friendly match). The rules were 4-stock, 8 minutes. We picked Rainbow Cruise as the stage (banned but counter-pickable). I was YL, he was Ness. We spent all eight minutes jumping around the level. Nobody won, but we were down to 1 stock each. In the end, it went into Sudden Death and a faired him FTW.

Thanks. And I died immediately. I cannot win a tourney match for sh;t.
About the fair/nair thing: I leaped left at the guy. When I use aerial attacks, I have a tendency to use fair instead of nair--not on purpose, but just 'cause I don't let go of the Control Stick soon enough. And YL's fair is pretty powerful.

As much as I want another character this week as well, I'm going to have to implore you to NOT murder Sakurai. If you do, an army of Smash fanatics will surely be at your door ready to beat you to an inch of your life and then kill you once you regain enough strength to be able to feel pain again.
