I still don't believe that the controller was limiting him as much as he thinks, but now that he has found one, he might actually clear his head up a bit.

Either way, nearly 2 months without a controller and you focusing on lots of homework for med school gives us a pretty big lead. TRAIN HARDER!

I'm just working on getting into med school. I'm a senior pre-med at MU, so my life isn't completely occupied at this point... just 85%. I'm taking next year off to finish preparations for med school, that and the fact that I'm "too young" to be thoughtfully considered. >.>

What that means is that I should have some free time and reasons to travel in the following year... :)

Hey, four more people talked to me about playing melee today... I told them to post in here to get themselves acquainted.. gave them my number and stuff.

One of them actually went to the may and june pathways for brawl but he's converting over to melee.. other than that, I'm looking to start the columbian monthlies in November (November 5th is the date we are looking at)... They'll be the first saturday of every month. I'll post detailed parking lots / maps / info / etc, here in awhile.

Melee is surprisingly rising here in Missouri. We've got some new players in Springfield, you've got some new players in CoMo, and Rolla is actually making an appearance.

Let's make Missouri known.

rolla is 100% because of me and partly because of Bert. also, expect to see some Rolla monthlies occurring.

& I personally believe in Sinister's controller johns. his sheik was ****ing unreal at June pathways & Mizzou Gaming in april. sure part of it was probably mental but a controller is important too. I hate using controllers other than my main one and my backup, most of them suck lol. My Fox can't do **** on most controllers.

Well yeah, I didn't say that it was all his controller. Of course your controller is a major aspect of how you play. I'm just saying that I don't believe it effected him as much as he thinks, and that a lot of it was mental. But hey, I don't know the guy hardly so I could be totally wrong. Either way, it doesn't matter now. He's got a controller and he's apparently back on his game.

Also, Rolla, Columbia, AND Springfield monthlies? We're going to have to work this out somehow, but once we do, the results will be nice.

I'm personally tired of the midwest being looked down upon.

I vote Rolla doesn't do monthlies. If it's just for local training, do weeklies. Monthlies imply that you want to have ppl travel for them.

I can't make it to more than two tournaments a month and don't really know anybody who can.

can't secure a venue every week. plus we can easily just rotate months where we travel to eachother's monthlies.

Magnum/David? I don't remember anyone else specifically who was only at those two and hasn't been back since.

That would be funny, to make a tournament series between Columbia, Rolla, and Springfield.

Does anyone else know how active other states are? I'm sure Cali is well set, but I'd like to know where Missouri ranks on the imaginary "most active state" list. I, for some reason, think we've got a lot of potential, especially since we're gaining more players then we are losing.

MD/VA and NY are pretty active. hard to know.

also, not against a circuit between the 3 of our regions. would require a $10 entry fee tho to make it worthwhile.

I'm cool with pretty much whatever we decide to do. Would we be talking 2 rotating tournaments a month (i predict levels of confusion) or just the one. I can guarantee a Columbian venue every month at the least.

It would be cool to travel to Columbia one week, then 2 weeks later have Pathways, then 2 weeks later travel to Columbia, then 2 weeks later have Pathways, and repeat. Lots of practice.

We can do a rotating monthly, Rolla takes 1, then the next month Springfield, then the next month Columbia... That way Rolla isn't always the crew making the trip... In between the rotating monthly can be another one if we see fit and can attend.

we can also if desired set up a Missouri Circuit if we get this going between our three crews. take a percentage of the pot, each placing gets a certain amount of points, see who has the most points at the end of the season, do a split of the pot for the top 3 or 4 point gainers.

Now that just sounds legit as hell.

Wow for once we are finally talking about some legit smash stuff in here. That being said, I am ALL FOR the Missouri Circuit idea. 3 regions. 2 tournaments each month. 1 chance to strengthen the Missouri smash scene. This is it guys. Hella good idea.

Jared I'm gonna need my Dazzle back and Sam, I'm gonna need my HDD.

VA was pretty dead when I left it. The northern part was KINDA active and the rest of the activity south was me and Ether hosting fests.
